Damnit...Arsenal didn't go through. Another cupless year for Arsenal likely :( . Anyways, quarter-finals are now finished. Team that played first leg at home listed first, winner bolded, and aggregate listed after.

Roma 0-1 Manchester Utd (0-3)
Schalke 0-1 Barcelona (0-2)
Fenerbahçe 0-2 Chelsea (2-3)
Arsenal 2-4 Liverpool (3-5)

The semi-final matchups look like this...

Liverpool vs. Chelsea
First leg: April 22
Second leg: April 30

Barcelona vs Manchester Utd
First leg: April 23
Second leg: April 29

Thu Apr 10, 2008 11:56 am

may i know why the seminfinals matchups have already been decided ?
arent they chosen by lottery or drawing ??

Sun Apr 13, 2008 5:09 pm

Are you fucking retarded?

This aint the fucking group stages. We are passed all the lottery shit.

Sun Apr 13, 2008 5:15 pm

Srbz, are you fucking retarded?
He was politely asking a question, why can't you answer politely too?

Mon Apr 14, 2008 3:51 am

Sorry but I am not european. You dont even answer my question, so if you are going to post that kind of shit, you better dont post. Thanks shadowgrin...can anybody answer me.

Mon Apr 14, 2008 4:49 am

He did answer your question. Wasn't very nice about it, but Srbz said that only the group stages are chosen by lottery, not the semifinals.

Well, it looks like the Champions League final is going to be Chelsea-Manchester Utd.

Chelsea didn't deserve to win against Liverpool tonight but they were able to convert their chances and score, and that's what matters after all. I still think the referee was wrong about the penalty call for Liverpool (when Drogba fouled Hyypia) but he did an overall good job, especially with the call on the goal by Essien.

Gerrard was completely off today. Maybe he was too worried about getting booked so he didn't play as well as he could.

The goal by Babel was by far the match's best, even though I admit I liked Essien's (even if it was annulled).

Well, guess I'll be rooting for Utd. since I hate with all my heart every single soul in Southern England.

Why not? They played better for most of the match, IMO.

I still think the referee was wrong about the penalty call for Liverpool (when Drogba fouled Hyypia)

That could have gone either way man. He got kicked twice, If Hyppia takes a dive on the first one it's clearly a penalty, but he was kinda expecting the second and exaggerated contact way too much so it seemed more like a Spurs' player.

I'll root for Chelsea, because I hate ManU.

Sun May 04, 2008 7:09 am

Well fuck you then Drex. I hate Chelsea.

I was rooting for Arsenal and ManU. I would have even been happy if any other wins it all as long as it's not Chelsea.

Wed May 07, 2008 4:36 am

An all English finals; boy does that suck :?

2 teams I don't like but I will be going for Chelsea because I hate them a tad less than I hate Man U

Wed May 07, 2008 11:52 pm

How does that suck? The English Premier League is the best association football league in the world, not to mention the way English play soccer is faster, and overall superior to the way soccer is played in every other European country.

I would've been seriously disappointed, not to mention bored, if it was, for example, an all Italian or all Spanish final. I remember watching Bayern Munich - Valencia back in '01 and being bored to hell the whole time.

An all Italian final would have been like the Spurs-Pistons final a couple years ago. Very, very entertaining.

But, yeah, cool game, River was dominating at some point, but, suddenly in 10 minutes, Bergessio came and scored.

True. They outnumbered San Lorenzo by two players and they still managed to let it slip away... en el Monumental! Can life get any better?

Sat May 10, 2008 10:11 am

Never liked River. Now that they have Alexis Sanchez made me follow them more, but I still don't like them and I'll always root for Boca. Ah si, 2 a 0 en el Monumental de Santiago  That was awesome. It's a shame Borghi left and Colo Colo couldn't qualify to the next stage.

Sat May 10, 2008 1:19 pm

Drex, are you a Colo Colo fan? I can't imagine how good Colo Colo would have been if they still had Chupete Suaso. I really like how he plays. Borghi is a really good coach, but he had a bad first day because it turned out that his first practice day, German Denis gets injured, most likely out 2 weeks...Tough luck, but I think Independiente will really benefit from his up-tempo offensive style of play.

Sun May 11, 2008 6:13 am

You all retardo for hablo no ingles.

Mon May 12, 2008 11:31 am

Astig, dude. Astig.

Drex, are you a Colo Colo fan?

Yup, as long as I can remember.

Thu May 22, 2008 8:03 am

Manchester United are the champions :D
