NLSC Basketball Profiles

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

To make a compare of me and him.I'm 13 and 12 when I dunked, but my dunk probably doesn't count, because my coach lovered the rim to 8'5.But even then I dunked with a volley-ball which is smaler and lighter then a basketball. Its seems strange that he had only two years expirience and dunked. To take this even further I trained gimnastics so I'm athletic and have expirience with jumps and so on.And he probably didn't do nothing of that sort.

:boohoo: Good for you,you dunked at the age of teen. One question.Did you dunk with a basketball or a baseball, tennis ball etc... :P .One thing is to get up to the rim without the ball another is to go with the ball.Ok two questions How high can you reach the backboard?

Nick wrote:I suppose 5'10" is pretty tall for 13 years old. But 13 blocks sounds ridiculous good for 13 years old.

I'm 5'10'' as well and I'm 14... Some kids of my age here are like 6'1-2'' but they play in other levels (not Under14 or Under16). I'm one of the tallests players in the region of Lombardy in my category and I gotta say that sometimes even being 3-4'' taller than the other kids and jumping more than them it's impossible to get 13 blocks a game in Under14 category because at this age you are not able to coordinate your moves and the most of the times you will commit a foul...

Anyways I'll update my profile since one year passed and a lot of things changed.

Name: Juan José Zara
Height: 5'10'' (178 cm)
Weight: 156.5 lbs (71 kg)
Age: 14
Location: Milan, Italy

Preferred Position: American Style SG (Italian positions are way too different)
Playing Position: G/F (I sometimes play Point Guard too...)
Experience: 3 years
Favourite NBA Player: Michael Jordan, Dwayne Wade
Realistic NBA Comparison (and why): Scottie Pippen (Euro=Dejan Bodiroga). I play guard but I still grab lots of rebounds.
Strengths: Shooting, Free Throws, Defense.
Weaknesses: 3pt Shooting, Moving without the ball.
Favourite move you can do: Behind-the-back layup, fadeaway shot.
Favourite move you've done once:
1. Change-hand layup
2. Around-the-legs layup

Favourite place to shoot: Free throw line distance.

Biggest shot you've made: In the last seconds of the game, we're down by four, I stole the ball, I shot for three, someone fouled me and I hitted the three anyways. I converted the free throw and we went to overtime but we lost

Best game you've played: My third game with the Under-16 team, the first two games I sucked so the coach put me in for only 21-23 minutes (Now I play like 30-32 minutes a game). Anyways I just put all myself in that game and I got 7 steals, 2 blocks, 15 points and 5 rebounds. I didn't play that well on offense but it was a spectacular match on the defensive end.
Most satisfying moment: When we won our round. Winning against the best team in the region.
Most shameful moment: Shooting from three I didn't even hit the rim.
Most regretted moment: When I got two technical fouls for just clapping my hands.
Most painful moment: When I broke my finger...It still hurts.
Basketball goals for the future: Become pro in Italy. Play for Armani Jeans Milano. Help my 1st division team reach C2 league (We're three steps away)

LOL! @ missing the 3pt line *airball* i surpose you was tired? You have a pretty good
height and weight, wish i was like that. But If youre a SG you should be able
to shoot a 3 whenever you please but maybe a SF would be better for you
since you grab rebs. Italians SG's are different? tell me how. (cuz im american).
And yeah the hand swith layup is sweet but too easy.

I think I did this before but whatever, it was a long time ago.

Name: Enrique
Height: 6'3, 6'4/192, 193cm
Weight: 155-165 lbs (70kg)
Age-17
Location-Calif/Uruguay (South America)

Preferred Position- SF/SG

Playing Position-C, PF, SF

Experience- Freshman, Junior(2005), and this year(2006) (I graduate in 2007)

Favorite NBA Player- Don't really have one

NBA Comparison (and why)- Bonzi Wells or Ron Artest without the psychological problems. Why? I have a 6'10 (208cm). I've been working on my stamina, speed, and quickness. I've always had a tendancy for defense, but I like I post my man up in the post, but I have a tendency to settle for a few outside jumpers. My jumpshot is very streaky.... My longest streak from the 3pt arc (NBA) was 12 during practice... Then I didnt hit one for the rest of the week in practice. Despite my weight, I can defend the post against taller and bigger players.

Strengths: Technique. Excellant passer out of post, and to cutters. (Hence why I like to play the 2). Long ass arms.

Weakness-Streaky, somewhat slow. Need to work on my jumpshot and upper body strength

Favorite Move- Post up quick spin, or driving to the basket from beyond the arc, or faking the drive and pulling up for the quick 3.

Favorite move youve done once: ???

Favorite place to shoot- NBA 3pt line

Biggest shot: I played one year at the salvation army (like a peewee league) and I hit a shot from half court as the game was ending.

Best Game- Didn't really play that much... However I would say my best stats per minute game was when I played (only) 10 minutes, scored 6 points, got 4 boards, 4 blocks, and 2 steals. We had a deep team that year, especially for big men.

Most Satisfying moment- Every second on the court

Most Shameful moment- There have been a feww

Most regretted- Lack of hustle sometimes.

Most painful- I broke my tailbone twice, dislocated both of my shoulders, and broke a finger. Take your pick.

Future- Improve range, star my senior year, play pro ball in south america.

Yeah I was pretty tired...It was at the end of a game. I'm more a SF but since positions change a lot in European style of basketball it's not the same.
In Italy the only position that plays exactly the same as in the USA is the Point Guard (sometimes the Center too).
Here, the most of the times, there's no difference between SF and SG. They're both called "Wings", and they have the only aim to play the pick&roll with the point guard. Sometimes there is only one "wing" and two playmakers.
I'll give you some links so you understand better how players are placed in an Italian court of basketball.

yeah i understand, SG and SF set the picks a wut not thats why their position is
at the wing. And the 2 PG play all its doing is having the C step up and
possibily for a pick. AH that is really different thx for the info but ill stick to Us basketball
