I loved the latest episode, I'd have to say it's my favourite of the current season and for that matter, my favourite FG ep in quite some time. None of the characters were annoying and they told a good story that was surprisingly touching for the show, while at the same time being one of the funniest episodes from start to finish in some time.

I thought it was great too, and for once (in the last couple of seasons at least), Brian wasn't portrayed as a pompous douchebag. Peter acting crazy while on Red Bull was very predictable but it was pretty damn funny nonetheless. Dr Hartman giving his kidney at the end wasn't really credible even with his joke afterwards, but it was a good conclusion for a pretty touching episode indeed.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Charles in Charge joke. I thought it might turn into another Conway Twitty-type of gag but it didn't run too long and Patrick Warburton's delivery of "Didn't she bang someone ugly?" just cracked me up. Not all episodes have to try and be that emotional, but they pretty much got everything right in terms of what makes a great FG ep, so I say more of that please.

Not bad, fairly predictable to see where the episode was going the moment Lois' revelation but fairly funny all the same. The gag with Peter giving Consuela his phone number ran way too long, not their worst attempt at making something relatively unfunny seem funny by dragging it out but I'm guessing it seemed a lot funnier in the writer's room. Quagmire's expression while the porno was being screened in church was the funniest thing he's done since the writers decided to make him a whiny, passive-aggressive jerk and suck all the humour out of his character and some of the other innuendo raised a smile, but on the whole it was kind of a forgettable episode. Not a patch on last week.

I much preferred the previous episode and some of the first few of the season. The latest ep wasn't horrible, but like I said I found it kind of forgettable.

At least two blatant plagiarisms to the Simpsons so far in this episode. I can't remember the first one, but the second one where the place transforms reminds me of the Simpsons Prohibition episode.

"The best damn pet shop in town!"

Oh yeah, the first one was the whole "Start the movie" thing, and the trivia question ("Otm Shank")

Not really having a big issue with it, it's just interesting to notice.

I was thinking the same thing but on the whole, I did enjoy the latest episode. I'm glad they avoided making it a full blown "Brian gets on his high horse about religion/AA" plot though as I have a feeling that would've been very off-putting. Great musical number, I know I've said it before but if there's one thing that FG does consistently well it's musical numbers. A couple of jokes were dragged out a little long (the production companies gag at the start, though it did kind of work) and Peter's drunken CatDog rant (not that bad either though) but on the whole it was a pretty funny ep.

This episode was pretty good, and almost no tangents. Solid plot too

Wish more episodes would be like this.

The plot was certainly as thin as they get, but on the whole, the episode was enjoyable. It felt like they spent half of the episode on the fight between the two old dudes, but parts of the fight were pretty epic (so was the dramatic ending).

i thought the fight lasted a little too long (as a lot of jokes usually do) but was a decent episode overall. there were definitely better ones recently

strangely....I havent watched any "Animation Domination" since the Star Wars episode

Strangely.... I haven't watched any "Animation Domination" since 7th grade. Probably because I realized it sucked and wasn't funny.

I preferred last week's episode. Decent story but the jokes just weren't doing it for me this week. There were a couple of funny moments during the fight but it dragged on way too long for my liking.

tongiht they aired what is easily the best episode in years. they did it old-school, bringing back what made the series so successful in the earlier seasons. not only do they redo the Meg falling in love with Brian episode but with Joe instead but they also acknowledge Stewie's lack of evilness and how he doesn't say "Damn You!" or shoot anyone anymore. plus it's an episode not centered around peter which i think has the makings of a good episode. i was literally laughing until i cried when evil stewie says "oh no! oh no! oh no!" to get the kool-aid guy to bust through and say "oh yeah!" only to beat him down with a baseball bat.

Re: Family Guy: Season 9

The Kool Aid thing was pretty fucking hilarious, but I can't say that I liked the episode overall. Both side stories felt like complete deja vu, and to me it felt more like a lack of ideas rather than a homage to previous episodes. The last few episodes were much better imo.

I'm with el badman, acknowledging that they were treading familiar terrain didn't make it any more entertaining. It was alright I guess, nowhere near the depths they've reached at times in the post-revival era, but the main plot in particular was very much a rehash and it was pretty light on the laughs. Nowhere near the best of the season for me.

Latest episode was better than the last couple in my opinion. Carter destroying the park bench dragged on a bit too long and the joke about high school shootings was perhaps going a bit too far (if nothing else it was a pretty heavy handed attempt at shock humour) but on the whole it was pretty funny.

man, Andrew we have like opposite tastes in humor. both my roommate and i felt the episode was pretty boring. i thought the story was pretty interesting, but the only joke that was remotely funny to me was the chicken one.

I'm sure there's some overlap but yeah, we have differed a fair bit in our opinions on the recent episodes.

pretty funny episode tonight. i loved the street fighter II reference that was pretty darn accurate and the Negatron bit was funny as well.

Re: Family Guy: Season 9

Yep, guess our opinions are going to differ once again. ;)

Painfully unfunny and overly long Michael J. Fox gag ("Look at us! We're being controversial! It's funny because it's tasteless! LOLZ!"), same old Brian tries to find a girlfriend plot and asshole Quagmire which I didn't find funny the first time (and it isn't getting any funnier the more they do it). The Street Fighter II reference was one of the better parts but overall, the episode left a bad taste in my mouth. Thumbs down to the frat boys for this one.
