Lawler has lost his edge, but he used to be a great heel commentator along the lines of Bobby Heenan (not surprising since he was a great heel when he was more frequently part of the active roster). He and JR do work very well together. I think if they want to go to the three man team, they should try JR, King and Styles since that would be similar to the McMahon/King/JR combo they had back in the day.

I agree as far as Coach is concerned though, he should've remained the backstage interviewer character he once played rather than the character he's adopted as a heel. He's definitely not ready for play by play and even his heel commentary leaves something to be desired.

I would rather have no wrestling. Its too fake. Its not fun watching either a whole bunch of guys half-naked slamming down other half-naked guys.

Then why are you bothering to post in a thread related to a topic you have no interest in? That's just spamming.

It was all a worked shoot, from what I've read Styles was pretty much allowed to write himself out to give the promo a more authentic feel.

I hope with the semi resurrection of ECW, the WWE creative team would be creative enough to pull off an ECW invasion storyline, similiar to the one in the Smackdown vs Raw 2006 Smackdown season mode. That storyline was the best in that game imo. Reminiscient of NWO and they're "I'll be bad and do anything I want with my posse" attitude. It could really be something new for WWE, and would be awesome as well... but that's only if the creative team manages it properly, which I doubt, since their creative team is absolutely downright horrible.

That would be a cool case of life imitating art (or in this case, a video game). Rob Van Dam is even expected to be at the forefront of the new ECW so we may well see it happen. I'm not sure if they'd be willing to put the WWE title on him so soon since he's still not being pushed in the main event scene despite the MITB shot, but an ECW invasion angle might compensate for that.

I think the ECW invasion already happened during the alliance invasion thingie. but i think it was rather minor. Not sure since I was only able to download clips of it online.

It was only done because most of the big names in WCW at the time were not picked up by the WWE, thus they need to make the invasion seem more of a threat by having ECW alumni revolt and join forces with the Shane McMahon-led WCW faction.

Not to the extent of the Invasion angle back in 2001 after the acquisition of WCW.

what's with main-event squashes all of a sudden? first with hbk, and now they've put mysterio in what looks like being three consecutive squash matches. at least two, and one in which he didn't even hit a single offensive move. and in san diego as well. they could at least have had him hit a move or two, but i dont see why they're squashing him anyway. give him someone he can beat for god's sake.

Their booking has been extremely shoddy as of late, no question.

I didn't think it would be that noteworthy to be honest, considering it's only suggesting what's already been widely reported and already discussed in the thread.

Yes DX is making there return at Vengeance PPV. it will be HHH and HBK leading DX and i dont think they are going to be adding any members before then. more then likely DX will comeback as fan favorites take the title of Cena. Turn Cena Heel and we will have a Cena(Chain gang) vs DX for Survivor Series Later this year. 8-)

Vince McMahon wants Styles' commentary to be more on the story-telling side instead of the great play-by-play commentary by which he was came to be known. Until Styles adjust his commentary to what Vince wants, we will still continue to hear JR. (Y)

I would definitely enjoy a DX resurrection, with Michaels and HHH leading the new DX. Shawn Michaels could be on Smackdown and HHH on Raw (or vice-versa) as they take on the WWE itself in line with DX's rebellious gimmick and could also be a way of somewhat ending the brand split. I wouldn't mind seeing the likes of Shelton Benjamin, Lashley, and other young wrestlers that badly needs a push by having a stable. I want to see the new DX composed of young wrestlers, and not old wrestlers like Ric Flair as a member.

Lashley is winning the King of the Ring and Shelton Benjamin was just the IC champ how much of a push can you give him. he will probably feud with Hass.

I remember seeing that snippet about X-Pac as well, though the latest reports are that it's going to be a short run for the reformed DX and will likely just be HHH and HBK.

X-Pac is the shizzle. I remember in grade 5 (2002 I think), me and my friends made an NWO gang and I was X-Pac because I did karate

Good times

Edit: we made some Turkish friend Gold Dust
