Yeah, good show.

Shit, I didn't that they did a AJ/Joe/Daniels match again. Will try to watch TNA again. Just found out Nigel McGuiness is that Desmond Wolfe guy I've been reading about.

Sheamus the #1 contender? Interesting.
Tue Nov 24, 2009 10:34 pm
took me by a pleasant surprise
he's got himself a good powerbomb, and I like me a good powerbomb
too bad he's got no chance to get the title, but it should hopefully still be a good match
the matches have been better lately, cena finishing punk with that 2nd rope AA and the qualifying matches werent exactly bores either

Didn't know that either. He got a push directly to the main event, his match with Angle pretty cool as well. But the AJ/Daniels/Joe match was one for the ages.

Santino eating diva pie and Maryse being back was nice.

Hearing Vince McMahon do commentary again on RAW was fun, a little odd as he half slipped back into his old on-screen persona while still retaining some "Mr McMahon" characteristics but it worked given the circumstances. Vince being "forced" into it doesn't make a whole lot of sense since it's not as though GM status - regular or guest host - is usually written as being free from interference from his on-screen character. However, it was worth it for the humour of the bit and it was so entertaining, so I guess it's something else to chalk up as one of those things in wrestling we're not meant to question or think about.

Cena saying taking Shaemus seriously was amusing. Unless he meant he was going to fuck him hard, it should have been taken serious.
Wed Nov 25, 2009 8:58 pm
Yeah, but on the whole that's not too bad an idea. It's probably too early for Seamus to be main eventing regularly but it's something different. At times Cena's promo wasn't too bad either, I think his character needs a bit of a harder edge with a bit of an "I don't care if people like me or not" aspect to it. If they really want him to be some hybrid of Stone Cold and The Rock - even a more PG friendly version - then that's the way to go. He'll still connect with the younger fans and he'll be less corny to the older ones at the same time.

I know you meant Shaemus as a contender, but for a moment I thought you meant something else.
Cena has become his character instead of his character becoming him. Too deep?

Batista now as a heel contender for 'Taker's championship at TLC (still an ugly-ass name for a PPV). And I sense a title change on the tag team championship.

Seen Survivor Series at last after a week of work.

The World Heavyweight Championship match could be the slowest match of the night (next to the Divas match), as I've said a few posts above, the world title match are too predictable to be executed in this stage especially if two contenders in a triple threat match are members of a tag team. The buildup for Kofi Kingston is just fantastic.
And Miz? HE'S AAAAAAAAWEEESOMEEEEE!

I still watched the main event though I still can't get over with Cena winning against DX. The greatest part of the match was when HBK went up one-on-one with HHH, and the surprise superkicks too were amazing.
It's kinda funny to see some avid PPV audience at ringside suddenly change their shirts to the "WE HATE CENA" shirt every time Cena has a match. One thing I hate about watching Cena perform is how all of a sudden he "regains back his strength" as if nothing was done against him. In this match against DX, he was held into the Figure-Four for a minute and then all of a sudden he stands as if he's limping, then ran to hit his "vintage" shoulder blocks. Same thing when he "should" be groggy, then would quickly go for a toe-hold then to the STF. It's like he still doesn't know how to "act" inside the ring during these type of matches.

The Miz being over puzzles me, it's not like his in-ring work or his catchphrase is anything special. Then again, Ken Kennedy/Anderson gets over by saying his name twice so maybe I'm just out of touch. One thing that I do think needs to be changed if The Miz is ever to be elevated to the main event is the name of his finisher, because "Mizard of Oz" has to be one of the worst names for a finishing move in the history of wrestling. It doesn't matter if it's the most impressive looking move (it isn't anyway), but with a name like that it's difficult to buy it as a devastating move that wins someone world championships.
Sun Nov 29, 2009 9:32 am
Too his defense, I don't think he's been using the name "Mizard of Oz" for his finsher in recent times. BUT, it's not like "Skull Crushing Finale" sounds or looks any better. It's way too slowly executed and most of the guys who take the bump don't come anything near the mat with their "skull".
I did kind of like the Reality Check though.
Sun Nov 29, 2009 9:48 am
Were they different finishers anyway?
Sun Nov 29, 2009 9:58 am
Reality Check's a much better name for a move, I'd certainly agree there.
Sun Nov 29, 2009 10:35 am
and Skull Crushing blah blah blah used to be Jericho's Breakdown, and I want to think that one of the guys of Too Cool used to do that move too
edit: ah yes, Sexay's back finisher in No Mercy is similar

I say give HBK a run. It's overdue, could make for a good angle heading into next year's Wrestlemania and would be a lot fresher than Cena, Orton or HHH.
Thu Dec 03, 2009 10:31 pm
+1 here.
Maybe HBK himself doesn't like to hold the title but like "for all times sake," and just for the reason that he's one of the best performers the world has ever seen.
Thu Dec 03, 2009 10:35 pm
there was a really good article on wrestlezone about turning all this young talent they have that are "frustrated" by Cena and revitalize the tag division.
Of course, that would be a bit difficult with Jerishow owning both tag titles, but it would be nice to have more tag teams instead of Cena + 1 or 2 every other Raw

Perhaps there's concerns about him being able to work house shows in singles as the champion since his knee is apparently in pretty bad shape.

I hope he breaks his knee.

So, Five-Knuckle-Shuffle then?
