it was from last week

After RAW went off the air, Randy Orton and Jerishow came out and brawled with John Cena and DX. Jerishow split and left Orton alone. He tried to be cool with Cena and DX. He put on Triple H's hat, threw up the X, and did some chops. HHH then gave Orton the chops. Orton took everyone's finishers. They closed out by bringing in Cena's dad, did the "Are You Ready/Suck It" routine, and then shook hands with the fans.

Great show in person....people loved Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne.

I've found Orton to be pretty stale for a few months now. He's still over though, so I guess you can't argue with the majority.

Confirmed For Next Week's WWE Raw From Madison Square Garden

The following has been announced for next week's edition of Raw from Madison Square Garden in New York City:

* WWE Champion John Cena & The Undertaker vs. Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show vs. DeGeneration X

*WWE Divas Champion Melina vs. Alicia Fox

Next week's show will be guest hosted by "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. The company had been talks with Jimmy Fallon about hosting the show, but were unable to make it work which is why they are bringing back Piper.

I'd much rather have Piper hosting than Jimmy Fallon, so I'm not too disappointed.

I honestly think it's better for Raw to scrap this guest host thing. Or if they'll stick with it, have it with people involved with the WWE in the past.

Probably no chance of them scrapping it anytime soon unless it really starts to bomb. I think they're enjoying the mainstream exposure (even if pro wrestling has been somewhat mainstream itself for a couple of decades now) and the ratings (some) of the guests are bringing in, though it's interesting to note that the ratings for some guests haven't been that much better than those brought in by former wrestlers. I don't think it does much for the product in the long term, at least not for older fans. But we know, this is the PG era.

TNA really needs to establish themselves as a more legitimate threat. For all the buzz Hogan's signing created, it hasn't caused a spike in the ratings and according to the dirt sheets, has divided the locker room despite what Dixie Carter claims. It could be that for as big a star as he became, Hogan's no longer a draw, something that could be attributed to a more cynical and critical generation of smarks who have soured on him as a worker and due to the various stories about his backstage politics (not to mention the controversy with his son Nick and that infamous phone call).

It wouldn't surprise me, but they're probably still good enough for the WWE's liking at this time. Without direct competition as they had with WCW, they probably have lower standards these days as far as ratings are concerned.

Gotta give it up for ma boi A-Wash. Just kidding. Although I do think he is being impressive in doing what he does week in, week out. Tony Atlas makes the segment for me. And for something to complain about, wwwwwe style is so slow these days. I miss people like Dean Malenko and Ultimo Dragon. Less drama, more action please.
Vance Archer does have a nice finisher. Finally not a Rock Bottom variation or something that looks shitty.
Christian always walks around like his ass hurts and Regal without the buzz cut is not the same thing.

Boy, I hate those matches against the local guys to push someone. Seriously, this is getting old. They even did it with Beth fucking Phoenix.
For a new guy, I believe people would be more impressed if they're getting some minutes and have a nice match, instead of destroying somebody completely unknown with a generic finisher.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Jericho works the monotone to perfection. Orton's just comes off as bad mic skills.

read the raw recap and I felt like I really missed out by not watching it last night

so I just barely watched the kofi kingston/orton thing and the DX vs JeriShow vs Cena/Taker main event.

man, I feel dumb for missing the it. The kofi thing was just cool imo, nice little hardcore spot, and that main event was nice and fast paced, lots of big moves, no slow down time. taunts, illegal men in the ring without DQs, bodies everywhere, and then finishers galore. Reminds me of good memories of WWE shows and matches. Loved the alternate entrance setup as well. I really hope they keep that. Made it felt like a house show, or a ECW atmosphere rather than the soap opera i felt like the WWE has become. I will be watching this rerun on saturday/sunday sometime when i get a chance cause the rest of the show could have sucked. but that main event was special for sure

I'd watch it when somebody ups the show on YouTube.

The first thing I searched for though is the new Raw intro, IMO, this looks and sounds better from the one from Papa Roach. And -- it has that old-school beat of the old Raw theme songs.

I think the Kofi/Orton stuff could be good too, so long as they actually use it to elevate Kofi. The brawl was a good way of doing that, allowing him to one-up Orton and look credible. At some point they'll need to give him a pinfall victory over Orton as well, it needn't be for a title or anything like that but just a means of pushing him as a character that can hang with the main eventers. It might just be the gimmick tweak that he needs.
