Dibiase is supposed to be in for a face run with his movie coming out. Way too soon for him to have a run with a major belt, but a feud with Orton over the title could help take him to that next level.

ah cole

That's sad. :shake: The announce teams are in sorry shape these days. Bring back the pairing of JR and King...if the latest news on Lawler's mayoral aspirations are anything to go by, he's not leaving wrestling just yet.

DiBiase seems too generic to me. Then again so are most of the other big names around these days. JR said on his blog recently that the "creative team" co-write the workers promos and whatever, I'm not sure they did it so much in the earlier days. And if they did they need to re-hire those guys.

I believe in the Attitude era, top workers were given more freedom simply for the sake of pushing the envelope but a lot of it was worked out with the writers. Some just have a natural charisma that comes through, The Rock and Jericho (not so much in his current heel persona, but that's his current gimmick after all) being obvious examples.

Shane McMahon To Depart WWE

Shane McMahon, Executive Vice President of Global Media, announced today he has tendered his resignation effective January 1, 2010.

Shane stated, "It has been an incredible experience to help build WWE into a global phenomenon. However, having been associated with this organization for the majority of my life, I feel this is the opportune time in my career to pursue outside ventures."

Whoa.

I think they'll make a storyline out of that.

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Oct 17, 2009 3:52 pm

Possibly, given that he's had a prominent on-screen character at times during the last eleven years or so. On the other hand, he's not on TV nearly as much as he used to be so they might just leave it as something real that's happening behind the scenes, like Linda's foray into politics.

I like bragging rights. It gives the writers something to work with.
Micheal Cole seemed better on smackdown than raw.

Speaking of announcers, The King finished fifth in the mayoral election so it looks like he'll be involved with wrestling for a little while longer. At this point, I'd trade him to Smackdown for Grisham and reunite him with JR, leaving Cole and Grisham to do RAW.

Cole and the Grish seemed not a bad combo.

Shane wants to be his own man. Good for him.
Seems like Steph (and Triple H) are going to inherit the family business.

Triple H to go for 30 titles, perhaps.

I honestly can't wait for the Miz-Morrison match. i'm a Miz fan but JoMo is gonna win it, no doubt.

btw, wasn't Jericho drafted to SmackDown?

Yup. Happened a couple of months ago.

Yeah that seems like it's been on the cards for a while. It's probably not happening anytime soon though, I think Vince will have to be permanently disabled or dead before he steps down. And frankly, good for him. He's had some crazy/downright stupid ideas in his time, but some brilliant ones as well and if he's still passionate enough about his company to put in the time as he enters his mid 60s, more power to him.

The Shane Departure thing is obviously not a storyline. so.. good riddens Shane.

okay, i bolded my posts. i was just actually expirementing for a good post style, but since you guys objected it... oh well

Would be a pretty bad decision to start a "Loser leaves WWE" storyline with Shane now, after posting it on WWE.com.

Good riddance? Why good riddance? Since when has Shane been a liability for the company and someone that needed to leave?

As for your posting style, I'm sorry but I have to agree with the others who said that the underline was not a good idea. I understand wanting to have a distinct style of formatting your posts so they stand out to your fellow forum members, but that was a case of overformatting.

Haha .. David Arquette is going to host RAW next week.
Wonder if they're gonna call gim a former Heavyweight Champion.

I say go for it. They could've been a lot more vicious in The Rise & Fall of WCW.

Dx is so annoying, Eve Torres is the hottest diva and raw was pretty decent.

i liked the Cena HHH match, too bad there were 2 commercial breaks in it though

Re: WWE Thread

I just find that the Bragging Rights theme to be so random to get Smackdown whack Raw in its "show."

I guess they're trying to emulate 2005's Survivor Series, though the buildup towards that PPV really took the hype with it coming to the PPV.

for the Shane thing (riddance > riddens :P ), i really don't like his acting and especially his wrestling skills. i don't know the works he does backstage (it was probably good, but if he initiated the PG thing, i'll choke him) , but his on-screen work is just scary, IMHO.

as for the font, i too had a feeling of nuisance with it, but i just waited for someone to complain (holla @ Lamrock)

Re: WWE Thread

I thought he was a decent enough worker for someone who isn't a true wrestler. He took some insane bumps over the years.

As for his backstage role, I doubt he's the one who came up with the PG idea. I'd suggest that his father is the one making calls like that.

He's the best worker who's a McMahon.
