I thought they used inconsiderate people as a vehicle to talk about those with not enough to do getting antsy about how young people talk.

Was one of the best episodes of the season. Better than last week's for sure.

Was laughing out loud when the guy was reading from the dictionary. "[term] was used to refer to a bundle of sticks." Something about the monotone voice of him reading out of the dictionary was just hilarious.

I thought the latest episode was a little light on laughs, though that could just be my unfamiliarity with Glenn Beck and Avatar for that matter. It doesn't help that I feel the Cartman character has kind of jumped the shark in roles and plots like this, though I do find it funnier when the other boys are largely apathetic towards him rather than the Cartman vs Kyle stuff that was the common formula for a while there. It was alright, not as good as last week's episode.

Was it supposed to be Glen Beck or Rush Limbaugh? or just all pundits in general?
I was laughing hysterically through out: especially at the avatar joke. Also knowing nothing but the basic plot that's the same plot as dances with smurfs.

When I looked up the episode's entry on Wikipedia last night it mentioned Glenn Beck (apparently that's been edited out now) but Rush Limbaugh was the person that came to my mind as the parodied party while I was watching the episode. I assume they had one or both in mind when they wrote the episode, while also intending it to be a shot at pundits and loaded questions in general.

It's Glenn Beck, the set design, chalkboard, EC logo design are all direct copies of elements of Beck's FOX News program.

Doesn't have anything in common with Rush.

Beck plays clips on his radio show and responds:

Seems he's a fan:

while funny south park does better when they dont have a/b/c stories going. Between the stupid scientists pissing on monkeys, kyle hating piss, and cartman being racist...this was almost not so much a/b/c stories but a/b/c running gags. The best part was cartman's song.

I liked it. The ending was a little too much even by SP's standards, but most of the episode was funny as hell. Especially Cartman's song.

Southpark does better than almost any cartoon consistantly for years. How much more do you want of out those guys?

This is true, but they sometimes still turn out a weak episode when they dont stick to their strengths and go back to their early bad habits. Storyline wise: just compare the insanity of seasons 1 and 2...to 6-8 or 10. A/B stories are fine, but they have to be done correctly and not just be the same running gag. Joke A: Cartman hates minoirites hahaha (7 minutes worth and a joke that didnt do much unexpected: its cartman: we know he's a bigoted asshole), Joke B: Kyle hates pee (7 minutes worth), Joke C: If you piss on a monkey it would get pissed off. (7 minutes worth). Once again, not that this wasnt funny: they're always funny. South Park and KotH are the two shows left i can say i've laughed every single episode. But it just wasnt their usual high standard of work and fell flat as a season ender. season enders include the Vampire episode (a great fuck you to twilight), The List (anytime the kids act like kids and its blown way out of proportion is great), Stanleys Cup (one of the best parodies of down on their luck sports movies ever). The last "season finale" i was disappointed in was Bloody Mary, because much like this one: it felt rushed and pieced together (much like new simpsons and new family guy) rather than a complete coherent episode

King of The Hill was fucking terrible in its final years. South Park is past its prime, but it still manages to be pretty funny. Its potshots and somewhat stale material prevent the show from having any classic episodes lately, but for a show that's been on for a dozen years, its certainly impressive. The last South Park episode I thought was legitimately great was the two-part Family Guy one. It took potshots, but was hilarious nonetheless. (I really don't see the hype about the Warcraft episode. Pretty unfunny) Most SP episodes these days just don't work as well. Turning Randy into Homer Simpson hasn't helped.

I'm not getting paid to do so. It isnt my job. Although I'd imagine if i got high, had access to their staff/software and watched all 13 seasons back to back..yeah i could probably churn out one as good as Pee, Bloody Mary, The britney spears episode (i refuse to look the name of that one up) or Free Willzyx. You're completely ignoring I'm not saying anything about me doing better, or them not being funny. This was still a funny episode. But they set the bar incredibly high by churning out so many great satirical epic episodes that this one simply just didnt feel like their best work.
Did I enjoy it as i do any other episode?
Yes
Did I laugh?
Yes
Could I use this episode as basis for an academic speech (did a persuasive speech in college about how South Park was the greatest of the big 3 of the adult animated shows at the time)?
Nope
Does it all really matter since we're just arguing subjective views of something?
Of Course not.

Lamrock: i've gotta disagree. The wheelchair rugby one with Bill was fucking phenomenal, as was the Donna(put debbie before..its the girl with the dark hair not the blonde that dies early in the series)/myspace one, and a few others all in the past couple seasons but still alot of this is a matter of opinion. I relate to king of the hill and find alot of humor due to the fact my dad is almost hank hill in the flesh (Except my dad worked for manufacturing plants rather than a propane company) and i've lived in the south for all but 4 years of my life. And I agree on South Park some modern episodes dont work as well as they used to but just this season alone: i'd consider 10 of the 14 quality episodes (judging south park by its own standards it set in cartoon wars).

I don't think any of us have to work in television to have an opinion on what works better when it comes to our favourite TV shows. We all have our own opinions as to what we like best, our favourite types of jokes and what makes the best episode for us personally.

How many people who bash video games on Internet message boards would be able to do better, or have extensive knowledge of programming/software development? How many film critics could turn in a better performance than the actors they criticise, or write/direct better and more entertaining movies than the ones they pan?
