Ohh man.. I've forgotten how good Vice City was. I popped it into the computer.. and well needless to say I played it for 10 hours straight.

I liked GTA3 more then any of the series. I loved the city, story, characters, everything. This could be because it was my "first time" with the GTA game which made the experience more enjoyable. But i just loved it. Vice City was great with all the cool music, and stuff. I dont really remember much of the story though. San Andreas, although had a bunch of improvements, was my least favorite. Liberty City stories and Vice City Stories were also decent games.

GTA3 (and for that matter LCS) featured my favourite map of the series to date, which I'd say is part of the reason I've enjoyed them the most. I wouldn't rank the rest of the series too far behind, though.

EDIT: Meant to say LCS, not VCS.

san andreas is fun but with too much stuff to do it can get boring and annoying...in gta3 all the missions are straightforward and fun that's y i like it best but also cause of the atmosphere! :D

Yeah GTA 3 had good atmosphere. Im really looking forward to playing in the NEW Liberty City in GTA IV. San Andreas was way too big. Alot of wasted space on water, forests, and grass. It was a nice change, but i think it was bad. Especially if you didnt have a jet laying around and had to drive for 10 minutes trying to get to where you wanted to go. Oh and the "your territory is under attack" got old fast. I dont like being in a gang, or being a no limit thug gangsta. Mafia is way better.

Usually I don't mind side missions but I wasn't that enthused about the gang territory/building an empire aspect of San Andreas and VCS respectively. I much prefer the story missions, hidden collectibles that allow you to build up a cache at the safehouse and oddjob/side missions that don't need to come into play unless you want them to come into play.

GTA3 is better than VC and it has the best map. Vice City is cool, but it's not dangerous. The only gang that eventually comes after you are the Haitians. Not so in GTA3.

But San Andreas is the best of the series(so far). Size doesn't bother me at all - there's so much to explore. The story/missions are cool, and you can't beat the killer soundtrack.

I loved GTA3 because of the gangs, it was just fun to hang out near the construction site and just watch the Colombians and teh AZNs just go at it.

But overall I did love San Andreas, Vice City was just too, I dunno, bland I think. The city part near the haitians was so bland it kinda ruined it. There was barely any detail over there, just that huge building.
Opinions are my own.

well i should clarify, the East Island, and the two middle ones had decent detail and were designed well. The West Island's city feels like it was designed for the mission G-Spotlight and thats it.
Opinions are my own.

ok it seems i am alone here but, i think vice city was the best game of the series so far. gtasa is a popular choice cause of the updates and size, though i think the size actually hurts it. i just loved vice city. i hear alot of people talk about the gta3 map being the best, i actually liked the vice city map the most. i did however like the story in gtasa better but overall i put vice city tops, then gtasa, then gta3

The physics in VC were more fun to screw about with. There were bikes in the game. The graphics felt cleaner, and personally, I didn't like getting shot at everytime I went through a neighbourhood.

Best solution? Download the GTA:LC mod, and you can play in Liberty City off the Vice City engine.

not sure if you were replying directly tro me or not but, i was talking about gtasa being too big. i personally loved the size of gtasa, specially the mountain and woods area. gonna miss the less populated areas in gta4.

Ah yeah.. roaming through the countryside and stuff. It really gave the it a feeling of diversity and stuff.

I've forgotten how little money you get in Vice City for each mission...

I've always wanted a new GTA game based in 1969. Based on the character "truth" from San Andreas (the hippie). He would be a young 20 something year old. Drugs, woodstock, moon landing, sex, black panthers, veitnam war, and that great music during that time. I think that would be cool.

they are saying that gta4 will be even worse with money. supposed to be a game where you never make it rich and own tons of property and shit. will be interesting to see how it works out. be cool if the only money you get is from robbing people, missions, and selling stuff, like cars.

i always wanted a gta based in the time of vietnam, i really think they could make a kick ass game that pushed the "PC" boundries to the limit.

In keeping with the GTA universe, 1971 would make more sense. That's when Tommy Vercetti committed the massacre which earned him the nickname, "The Harwood Butcher".
