You're better off doing that. The video quality wasn't very good.

Seen the The Rock's promo on SmackDown. Jae, you're gonna like it I think.

If they just play his music I'll spaz out. Waiting to download it without reading spoilers is a nightmare.

The Eddie Guerrero tribute is nice.
Taker's taunt + dim lighting + falling confetti = lol

I thought it was a fine show for the tenth anniversary. Some of the party skits were a bit corny, but they worked all the same. I admire Cole for having the sense of humour to make fun of himself. I think he tries he's best and he's a lot better than he used to be having gained a lot more experience at the announce table, but the problem is he's just not JR and those are some big shoes to fill.
Vickie Guerrero back on Smackdown? I'm in two minds about that. In all fairness we don't have much of a right saying she shouldn't have a role on TV and she's been great at getting over as a heel, but I'm kind of over her act. Anyone else think it was a little awkward that they brought her back as a heel in a kayfabe relationship with a debuting heel, the same night they had a video tribute to her late husband? I just found it a bit weird.
The Rock's promo was pretty good, he's the kind of face they need to oppose someone like CM Punk. I really hope he does guest host RAW, "one more match" seems unlikely and best saved for a PPV anyway but a live return to WWE TV would be great.

Well so far, according to WWE.com:
Undertaker won the World Heavyweight Championship.
Seen the Smackdown X show. Hope they retain the theme song used for the intro. The last one sounds like a hill billy one.

Yeah I saw that in WNW's live coverage. Wonder how long it will last.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 11:54 am
Just saw a bit
I dunno if i started watching mid match or what, but that was the worst HITC match I've ever seen. That was just horrible.... Nevermind the botched ending, barely hit him
Mon Oct 05, 2009 1:39 pm
8/8 on my predictions.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 3:33 pm
So, Orton again is the champ . I wonder if this Orton-Cena feud will continue. I hope it's not.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 3:44 pm
I think it will, but then RAW is unintentionally becoming the B-brand anyone. Smackdown's the better choice if you prefer the WWE's traditional approach and fresher angles.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 4:51 pm
Why are they pushing Kofi Kingston so hard? The guy's just a mute cartoon character. He can't talk, he just jumps around smiling and looking happy about nothing. I also don't understand why they won't just give the belt to Ziggler already. I watched Smackdown the other week for the first time in months and he got boo'd like crazy as soon as the crowd saw him. There's heels higher up the card who can't get that reaction.

Kofi's entertaining enough in the ring but there's definitely a ceiling on his character. Interesting that they're billing him as being from Ghana now, seems they've given up on the whole "Jamaican Superstar" aspect of his character and will just bill him from his real birthplace.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 5:05 pm
Really? That's bizarre. I can't imagine someone from Ghana would be seen as remotely interesting, at least Jamaica is well known with the general audiences.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 8:08 pm
His true heritage has been mentioned in a few interviews, maybe they'll think it'll give his character more credibility if they stop pretending he's Jamaican. I think his family even spoke out on it...which is kind of silly, kind of like if Christian Bale's family came out and said he wasn't really Batman.

He's not? Blasphemy!

It's cause he grew up in Massachusetts once he came to America.
And we all know that Super(cena)men come from MA

That's right, that's why they're billing him from Ghana only now, once he's established his character.
Appearently they took the belt of Punk in the opening match because of backstage heat. On the European Tour, Taker told Punk that he should dress more appropriate since he's representing the WWE as Heavyweight Champ, on what Punk replied 'What about John Cena?'.
Word is that yet another Taker-Batista feud is upon us, that's why I think they shouldn't have put the title on Taker just yet, even though he deserved it, for the sake of variety. Plus Punk was doing well as Champ.

The Undertaker sounds like a pain in the ass backstage. At some point you'd just be like shut the hell up, mind your own business and stop dating Divas.
Tue Oct 06, 2009 12:56 am
Sounds reasonable enough to me. Of course, I've also read that Punk's got a bit of an attitude backstage which wouldn't sit well with anyone who's old school.
Tue Oct 06, 2009 1:09 am
I often wonder about some of these attitude problems, and whether they actually exist as real attitude problems or they're "wrestler" attitude problems... what I mean by that is that there are a lot of strange back-stage almost carny-like traditions/rules people are supposed to follow and if they don't they get major heat for it. It reminds me a little bit of things I've read about NBA teams too with rookies.
Tue Oct 06, 2009 1:17 am
I'd say that has a lot to do with it, industry traditions and all that. One of the things I read was that Punk has rubbed people the wrong way as his current on-screen character isn't too different from how he acts towards his colleagues who don't hold the same beliefs, but then you can't believe everything you read. He's obviously over with the right people to be getting title runs.
Tue Oct 06, 2009 4:25 am
It wouldn't shock me, I know a lot of straight edge people and a good portion of them look down on other people for drinking/smoking etc and will happily lecture you on it. I've heard of cases in the US where gangs of straight edge guys have bashed people outside of clubs for smoking cigarettes and weird shit like that. Some people take it to extremes.
Tue Oct 06, 2009 8:16 am
You've gotta love that logic. Substances bad, but violence good.

about the end of raw
Jericho stops him in his tracks and then tags in Big Show. Big Show begins to go to work on HBK. A big brawl with all four guys breaks out. The smoke clears and it's Jericho in the ring by himself with both D-X members. He runs out of the ring and tries leaving the match but the Monday Night Football music hits again and out comes Roesthlisberger and the Steelers offensive line. They stop him and D-X gets him back in the ring. HBK hits Sweet Chin Music on Jericho and HHH pins him for the win.
Winners: D-Generation X
I thought they didnt pin show, who was the legal man, oh well, it was a nice old school WWF kind of tag match where things get a bit out of control
