Dei., Santino hasn't got that much offense as he's got in the match against The Miz in a long time.

So Taker's supposedly gonna get a Title match at Breaking point right? Since it's a submission match, i wonder if the Title's gonna switch hands again or if CM Punk will actually submit The Undertaker, which would surprise me considering how strongly Taker is booked.
Maybe Punk will take some cheap DQ way out or something like that. To make Taker even angrier.

I'm torn. On one hand, I'd like to see Taker get a decent run with the title but on the other hand I don't like too many short reigns and title changes as it doesn't sell the belt as something important in the storylines. I also wouldn't be surprised if they had Punk get disqualified or otherwise cheat so that Taker doesn't actually submit. I remember a match between Owen Hart and Ken Shamrock in 1998 in Stu Hart's infamous Dungeon that ended when Owen knocked out Shamrock with a weight, locked on a hold and with his free hand made Shamrock tap, the story being that the referee didn't see him strike Shamrock with the weight or that he was the one moving Shamrock's hand to tap out. Perhaps they could do something similar with Punk and Taker.

new wwe ppv... BREAKING POINT!!!

matches and a (possible spoiler on what might be another added match):

Below is the updated card for WWE's Breaking Point Pay-Per-View after this week's WWE SmackDown tapings from Phoenix:

I Quit Match for the WWE Title
Randy Orton vs. John Cena

Submissions Match for the World Title
CM Punk vs. The Undertaker

WWE Unified Tag Team Title Match
Chris Jericho and Big Show vs. MVP and Mark Henry

WWE Intercontinental Title Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler

It should also be noted that on this week's ECW on SyFy, William Regal defeated ECW Champion Christian in a non-title match to earn a title shot "at a later date," so we could see that match at Breaking Point as well.

BRAKING NEWS!!!

don't expect Rey Mysterio for the next month since he was SUSPENDED for Violating a Wellness Policy.

Jim Ross was disappointed about that and he blogged:

Jim Ross wrote:Rey Mysterio's Wellness Vilation: I "was hugely disappointed to hear of Rey Mysterio being suspended for violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. That's a real head scratcher but it will open the door for some young lions to take their game and the perception that goes with it to the next level including Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison just to name a couple."

Saw that on WNW, forgot to mention it. That's disappointing to hear but hopefully it'll be the last incident involving Rey.

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Aug 29, 2009 2:58 pm

yeah. Rey is extremely disciplined when it comes to WWE. and this would be no exemption.

Re: WWE Thread

It probably means Ziggler will be getting the IC before Breaking Point. That's not too bad, I'm starting to come around on him as a midcard heel though I still think Dolph Ziggler's a ring name that will hold him back.

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Aug 29, 2009 3:33 pm

not really...

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Aug 29, 2009 8:28 pm

So? WWE is often slow to update their website. Think about it; with his 30 day suspension effective as of September 2nd, Rey won't be back until October and Breaking Point will take place on September 13th. It's doubtful they'll let him keep the IC title while he's suspended, by delaying the suspension until after next week's Smackdown tapings they can have him drop the belt (most likely to Ziggler, possibly someone else if they want to have Ziggler win the belt for the first time at the PPV) and write him out of the storylines for a month.

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Aug 29, 2009 8:53 pm

I read somewhere that he'd wrestle on the next show and drop the belt there.

Re: WWE Thread

Sat Aug 29, 2009 8:57 pm

Same. Seems to be a logical guess at any rate, given the timing and duration of his suspension.

^As soon as it happened, I knew someone's gonna cap it.

Rey's suspension was a shocker. But why can't they just move the suspension, make it effective after the next PPV?

Re: WWE Thread

Sun Aug 30, 2009 10:04 am

it's better off if Rey loses the Belt to either Finlay or Mike Knox instead of Dolph Ziggler.

i mean... what the fuck? what kind of name is Dolph Ziggler? he's like an ultra-advanced Russian Pornstar! he's too early to have a title, and if he wasn't having this feud with Rey... then he would've been released like Ricky Ortiz!

Re: WWE Thread

Like that of Jeff when he was IC before Wrestlemania XXIV, dropped the title to Jericho before serving the suspension.

I was thinking, that "fan" in the Cena-Orton match at Summerfest, who would the "fan" attack supposedly?

They could, but that would be sending a poor message to the rest of the roster and considering how seriously the WWE is taking their Wellness Policy and that they're a publicly traded company, I don't think it would be a very good idea.

Finlay is 51 and an established midcarder who's there to groom some of the younger workers. He shouldn't be getting IC title reigns. Mike Knox with the belt? No, no, a thousand times no. I don't disagree that Ziggler's ring name is stupid but he's held his own working with Rey and he's getting over as a cocky heel so I think he's worthy of the IC title, much more than Knox who is a far inferior worker. The only thing going against him is the stupid ring name but if Johnny Nitro can become John Morrison overnight for the reason that he did, they can give Ziggler a new handle.

Re: WWE Thread

Sun Aug 30, 2009 10:49 am

that fan was actually Brett DiBiase, Ted's younger brother, so it was all-scripted (as always). He was doing like a Test-lke debut (back when Test made his WWF debut by screwing up The Rock in his match against HHH, Attitude era), so i think he'll probably screw up the I Quit Match or something...

Re: WWE Thread

Sun Aug 30, 2009 12:02 pm

Dolph Ziggler's awesome, he's one of the first guys to come through in ages who's a heel because people don't like him for his attitude/personality, not because he's gone through all the stereotypical heel motions. I.e, come out, insult crowd, insult home city, insult face, leave. Or The Jericho Tactic.

Re: WWE Thread

Sun Aug 30, 2009 12:23 pm

Jack Swagger's kind of like that as well. He's moved on to insulting MVP in their feud but I think that's a vital part of that angle and furthers both of their characters, but when he debuted it was the cocky attitude that got him over as a heel.

Re: WWE Thread

Sun Aug 30, 2009 12:52 pm

I guess it won't hurt to have Ziggler as heel and have the other members contest the title from him, like Morrisson.

Re: WWE Thread

Sun Aug 30, 2009 1:04 pm

If they're hesistant to put the title on Ziggler, Morrison would be a perfect alternative having worn the belt before and an established upper midcarder.

how bout R-Truth? he's good

Re: WWE Thread

Sun Aug 30, 2009 3:40 pm

I'm all for it, but his reign would probably be a bit of a flop as he hasn't really had sufficient build. I think it would go over with the smarks, but we're not the only ones in the audience.
