Seen SmackDown and the TLC promo and it seems like Punk is pushing this as Jeff's last match.
Mon Aug 24, 2009 1:01 pm
TLC match rating: 5 stars
Jeff is out. Taker is back! Say hello to Deadman-CM Punk feud.
Smackdown>Raw

Brian Danielson seems to have agreed to work for WWE. I hope they push him well like they did Punk. Punk's push seems like a rare case when it comes to ROH talent going to WWE.

Wonder what happens to Hardy now. Only now I realized that Smackdown's roster isn't that lame, if all wrestlers are active.
Tue Aug 25, 2009 4:19 am
Not a bad ppv. Only thing that pissed me off was the Christian - Regal match.
Tue Aug 25, 2009 9:40 am
Yeah that was a letdown. Few people would've bought the PPV for that match I guess, but it was still a waste of time. That's the kind of thing that should be done on TV, not PPV. They did something similar with the ECW title at last year's Summerslam as well.
Dolph Ziggler held his own against Rey. I think he's a good enough worker and has the right look for a cocky heel for the upper midcard and perhaps the main event in time, but that's a stupid ring name. I get the reference, but it's kind of hard to take the character seriously with a jokey name like that.
Solid PPV all around. Great to see Taker back and I'm looking forward to him having a program with CM Punk. I think that'll be an interesting test for Punk's run as a heel since he can't really play up the militant straight edge character as much as he could with someone like Jeff Hardy, though I suppose he'll continue to get a heel reaction simply because he's going up against one of the biggest faces in the company. I'm guessing their first verbal confrontation will run along the lines of Punk touting his lifestyle and Taker responding that "death doesn't care" or something like that.
Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:37 am
What will happen to Matt?
Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:46 am
It would have made more sense for Punk to go up against Mvp or Morrison. Easy promos, good workers, could have been quality matches. I am curious about the conversation between Cm and the dead man.
"I don't drink or smoke".
"Well, I don't even breathe. Now get over here and job to me."
Unless they find an ingenious way for Punk to beat Taker, I'm already sceptical.
Where will the spirit squad (legacy) go from here? A fued with Show and Jerico could be good.
I hope Matt gets to go for the US or Intercontinental title or something.
Tue Aug 25, 2009 12:06 pm
Bryan Danielson? Fuck yeah. Punk vs. Danielson anyone?
buzzy wrote:He's gone, mark my words.
That's why they wanna bring Taker back ASAP, to start a program with CM Punk.
Am I good or what?
Summerslam was pretty good. The Intercontinental Title match was a nice one to open it, if it wasn't for that Vickie Guerrero incident, Ziggler would have won it. He was pretty much booked to win it at NoC already, but they wanted to give Rey a long title run because of it.
I fast forwarded the Khali-Kane and partially also the MVP-Swagger matches. But when the heck became Khali and Ranjin Singh brothers?

The WWE Title match, to be honest, I thought was a big clusterfuck. At least Orton won rather clean. Besides the 'fan' who interfered, who was identified as Brett DiBiase later on.
Guess this will lead to a Ted face turn to promote The Marines 2, while Brett joins Legacy?

Lol at Lilian Garcia saying "the
new WWE champion.. Randy Orton!"
Youre good buzzy

im waiting for this to happen

I'll let the admins ban me if this predication will come into reality.
Going to create a new account sooner than later.

Seems that way too, like we get the hints from NoC when Jericho bashed Edge before the tag match against Legacy.
Tue Aug 25, 2009 2:31 pm
I also really pull for a Jericho-Taker feud for the near future (Taker won't be around for that long anymore anyway). Would also be a pretty epic matchup for WrestleMania, but I'd rather have it at a PPV where the outcome isn't clear from the start.
Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:20 pm
Just finish watching Summerslam. The only thing that made the PPV into a solid one is the TLC match between Jeff and CM Punk. Overall it's a solid PPV

.
Mysterio vs Ziggler - The opening match is pretty good to get the crowd going. Good match but I don't like the finish. I though Rey gonna finish it with a Frog Splash.
Swagger vs MVP - just seem to be a normal match to me to build up the feud and MVP being a face feels kinda weird to me.
Tag Team Championship Match - the match was good but I don't like the cryme time. didn't even managed to see a vintage jericho wrestling
Kane vs Khali - the match is meh.
DX vs legacy - dx having a hard time is the first time I have seen it. entertaining match with a lot of counters.
ECW championship Christian vs Regal - another match that is meh. bad move for the wwe to even put it in one of their main 4 PPV (if I am not mistaken).
WWE championship Cena vs Orton- didn't bother watching this since i don't like seeing a match that is restarted 5 times.
WHC championship Punk vs hardy - ah, the match of the PPV. Punk and hardy really giving it their all. I like the chair shots from both men and hardy swanton bomb on top of the ladder is awesome as always, and Undertaker surprise appearance is the shit.

People have been saying that for years though. I'm guessing he'll wrestle for a few more years yet, though he'll probably have to take some time off here and there. I'm hoping for one last title run of decent length, just as a bit of a farewell tour. If they can give Khali two months, they can give Taker four to six. But as far as Taker/Jericho, I'd love to see that too.
Getting back to the Rise and Fall of WCW DVD, one of JR's recent blogs opined that it was a well put together documentary, not necessarily the definitive take on the matter but not a hatchet job either. I was always a WWF fan, but I still had some interest in WCW and I reckon it will be interesting to watch. I certainly enjoyed the ECW, AWA and WCCW sets. The WCCW story in particular is a sad one, you can't help but feel for Kevin Von Erich.

A lengthy title run for Undertaker would not be so bad either. But I wouldn't count on it that much, considering on how the WWE is currently doing with there titles and the champions. But a title run to end taker career wouldn't hurt either, but I wonder if they did that they would stick to the "everyone is afraid of taker" gimmick.
Wed Aug 26, 2009 12:41 am
Probably, it wouldn't really have to get in the way of people challenging him for the belt.

Smackdown Tapings Main event that will be shown this Friday:
World Title:
Steel-Cage - "Loser Leaves WWE"
-CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy
Amazing match. Great final match for Jeff Hardy. Remember this was the "loser leaves WWE" stipulation in addition to being a steel cage match. CM Punk obviously got the win here to retain the World Heavyweight championship and send Jeff Hardy packing.
Winner and STILL World Heavyweight champion: CM Punk
After The Match:
After the match, Jeff Hardy cut a really good promo. He was saying his goodbyes and the crowd was really into it. As he was saying goodbye still, CM Punk attacked Jeff Hardy. This lead to Undertaker's music hitting. Undertaker came out and chokeslammed CM Punk.
Jeff Hardy is leaving for sure. He's not the best wrestler but is kinda sad to see him go.
Wed Aug 26, 2009 7:29 pm
Supposedly he'll be returning to the WWE once he's taken some time off, though that could be up to a year. Best of luck to him, I certainly hope he returns a bit sooner than that.
Not a bad episode of RAW. The DX/McMahon stuff was a little weird considering how they've incorporated HHH's marriage to Stephanie into the storylines as well but they kind of pulled it off all the same with the tag match against Legacy.
Thu Aug 27, 2009 9:19 pm
Jeff's leave of absence is currently being compared to Jericho's. Working on other projects, then coming back when he wants wrestling/money.
Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:20 pm
Just finishing Raw. Not a bad episode as Andrew said and since it is my first time again watching Raw, i kinda feel weird on the matches especially it has becoming predictable. The crowd reaction when Mayweather comes in is like they don't know what will they react. MVP's mic skills is

. Feels weird for Mark Henry to be a face since every time I have seen him is he is always a heel and have that kind of gimmick of a unstoppable big giant thing.
Just a question. So a guest host acts like a gm for the night or something? And I didn't even feel that Mayweather is a guest host. What the heck is going on with Chavo feuding with Hornraddarda(don't know how to type his name or even pronounce it). He should be like his cruiserweight championship days. The Miz sucks ass and Santino should be given a push.
Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:29 pm
Yes, the guest host essentially has GM powers for the evening. I disagree about pushing Santino. His character is over and he's good in a comedic role but he's far from being a stellar worker in the ring and I certainly wouldn't buy a PPV to see him in a high profile match. I think he's fine in his current role.
Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, The Great Khali and The Big Show appeared on Conan during a Noches de Pasion con Señor O'Brien sketch. Fun appearance with Rhodes and Dibiase taking some decent bumps on the set.
Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:36 pm
Not a kind of title push I want to see Santino in but kind of a man who can wrestle. Well something like that. He is a face or heel by the way?.
Hmm, their next PPV is breaking point which the stipulation would only be submission matches. Kinda have a mixed feelings about the stipulation.
Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:59 pm
He's a face at the moment, I believe.
Fri Aug 28, 2009 12:14 am
Bryan Danielson's an interesting signing. I wonder how they'll waste his talents.
Fri Aug 28, 2009 12:33 am
CM Punk became champ a couple of times so AmDrag might have some hope. From what I've heard, ROH's not doing well anyway.
