hey phil, today i borrowed your redbull car and tried it for the first time. my face looked like this:
that car is crazy. i finished 10 laps on indy in just over 6 minutes. i maxed out the downforce and i had to keep myself from hitting the INSIDE walls on that track going at 250 mph. i maxed out the tranny and i managed to get the car up over 450 kph (283 mph). picture to come

You can get it to 500 kph if you draft behind the other cars.

Can you use it in a-spec/b-spec events? If so, your game just got a lot easier.

oh thank god. maybe that will get me to play the game again, considering i only have the endurance races to complete (besides the nascar series and historic car race)

I've stopped doing endurance races because I'm up to 1000km at Suzuka, which would take 5-6 hours. (That's if it's not raining )

well, even the miata 4h race or the 200 mile laguna seca race (which would take over 5 hurs) is still too much to even consider doing in one sitting. you've gotta be pretty hardcore about this game to try it.

hey phil, could you sawp out your ferrari for the Toyota 7 car? if you're gonna share your cars, i might as well finish out that evil Historic car race. i've set up 5 cars for sharing, but you probably already have them.

I dunno if you like b-spec or not, but he will walk the events in the X1. More money and cars if you decide to do it.

I also made a cool new track the other day. It has 66 corners, 4 straights and is just over 9km long. I've shared it. You should take a look some time.
Super fun, especially in the X1.

so i finally had my 1st long GT session in a while. i raced the X1 (renamed the 2010X) around the 10 lap indy course a few times to build XP. trying to get to level 27 to do the Laguna Seca endurance whenever they allow us to save during the race. i mangaed to get up over 290 mph while drafting, though i'm going so much faster than everyone else, it's really hard to draft. all-time lap record at the Indy Speedway is 37.895 secs and i got into the 33 secs with the X1 and with drafting got down to 32.4 seconds!

then i figured i didn't really want any more ridiculously expensive ($1 million or more) cars so i started splurging on cars that it would be fun just to have to collect. i wound up buying some cool cars. i got the Lexus SC 430, the ridiculously overpriced new Lexus LFA (they have that car commercial with the hanging Lexus cars over the yellow LFA), Scion xB (the Toyota version), Tesla roadster (the electric car), VW Bus, & Mercedes SLR MCLaren (this one hurt my bank account the most)
i put some of these up to share on my account, but i'm really curious about the Tesla. if you drive it in an endurance race, do you get the crazy gas mileage on it? that would be a huge advantage to never have to "gas up" your car.
then i realized i wouldve liked to have a Zonda R also but it cost 2.6 million so I ugess I'm saving up for that car now.

and Phil, do you guys have different seasonal races in Australia? i saw in your Log that you raced a kart seasonal race, which i would like to do, but it's not offered. the US players are offered the standard FF, FR, 4WD, MR, races plus drift & time trail

I think they are the same all around the world. Every time they add news ones they close the old ones.
There has been like 7-8 different updates with about 5 races each, before the FF, FR, 4WD, MR races came in this week.

For a few of them the prize money was massive. You could make like 1-2mil from 5 races. And in truth they were extremely easy.

They seem to have stopped those though.

Got back in to this and am currently B-Specking to get other things done. It's getting pretty fun now. Right now I'm at like level 20 in B-Spec and 24 or 25 in A-Spec, and a pretty decent stable of cars and number of events to enter. Game is way harder now though!

The way they made the career mode is making a lot more sense now. The start was not up to the level of GT3 or GT4's, but the sense of progression is there. My start to GT3 was golding all the B licenses, using the Miata to win the enduro, then buying a Corvette to win the Amateur World Championship with. Here, the progression is more gradual, and in a way, the leveling system is realistic.

So hyped for in-race saves.

Maybe 200k-400k. Hopefully they start doing them again. They helped me get to level 31.

Plus I'm out of money and can't be bothered continually repeating the Indy race.

yeah i'm stuck doing indy for the experience. i only got 3 or 4 more before i get to level 27. after that, i might just wait for the update. and gift me your paint colors!!! i'm at 100 and i need to get to 256!!! thank you.

that would really help. they give you a trophy if you get to 256.

I've got a fair amount now seeing as I get 5-10 paint chips everyday just by being online while playing.

yeah i noticed they started doing that. even with the 5 per day, i'd still need to play like 30 days straight to get to it

Well technically you just have to load the game up while being connected to the internet. Would probably take 2 minutes a day.

i really wish you could buy new tires at the car selection screen when entering an event, rather than backing out

that wouldn't be very realistic. it would be like buying a candy bar at the check out lane at the market

"1 day" passes in the game each license test or race. not too realistic either.

I'm just talking about in terms of convenience.

yeah i know, plus crashing a Veyron or 2010X into the end of the long straight at 250+mph at the Sarthe track and living to tell about it isn't very realistic either.
