I hope God enjoyed watching him get his ass beat for 5 rounds.

The Yes Cartwheel got him a goat's vagina on his forehead.
Mon Dec 14, 2009 2:52 am
The hell
Why did he decide to add a cartwheel when The Yes alone is borderline retarded as it is.

That GIF is the best recap of their second fight.
I hear this world's strongest man is starting a career in MMA. It's going to be awesome if he ends up fighting Brock. He looks like a good athlete too. He already has one win in MMA and there is a saying he'll fight Fedor's brother in April(yeah it sux, still long time to come). One thing is certain that I will never spell his name right, just like Fedor's last name.

Holy shit have a look at that guy. Alot of body builders have empty strength, like it's mostly aesthetic but obviously that's not the case with him since he has won strong-man contests.

The power of being Polish.
Mir vs Carwin is on for 111. Can't wait for that one.

The chatbox nearly exploded when Smith put Le down. Great fight, whole card was entertaining.

That was a great fight, but Melendez/Thompson was epic.

It was. I wonder how it would have went if Thompson had 2 healthy legs.

Just watched the fight, and can't believe Le lost to him. Seems like he's not fully back to fighting form from all the movie shootings or it could be his age. It seemed he was dominating the fight almost all time, but couldn't figure out the way to finish him. Le looked lost at times too with stamina and combos he usually has.

K-1 Dynamite this year was pretty ok, but result of most fights were predictable. It's sad Masato is retiring early, but he obviously wanted to leave at peak of his career so who can really blame him. As for Manhoef, Overeem, and Aoki, they pwned the opponents.
Here are the links from youtube. This guy has Masato fight as well, but in 3 parts.
It just seemed like a mismatch. I've never heard of him too.
Misaki is still a capable fighter and always has been. It just shows punching power and speed of Manhoef although the match should have been continued.
I don't really know much about Aoki, but some even claim he should give good fights against Penn or top tier UFC fighters. I doubt it though... I really didn't like what he did to the opponent after breaking his arm.

Gary Goodridge, I don't know how he deserves to fight Mousassi. Oh well... at least a quick fight.

Pretty ordinary card but Daley was impressive, as was Dos Santos.
Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:42 pm
IMO Dos Santos has potential to be the next big thing in HW division. Since Brock isn't likely to come back anytime soon if not retire, it should be interesting to see who'll be the new champ.
Wed Jan 06, 2010 2:12 am
dos santos has potential but he hasn't really faced a top name in the division.. and all of his ufc fights have been mostly standup so he's basically untested on the ground.. but i guess having noguiera as a training partner means his ground game is ok?
and if hypothetically noguiera wins the heavyweight title that means dos santos can't get a shot at it?
Wed Jan 06, 2010 3:26 am
So true. Probably he was benefitted a lot from a fight against aging crocop just like Kongo, Overeem, and others did.

Chance of that happening sounds so slim, but if it does, I'm sure Dos Santos wouldn't mind fighting against Nogueira as I don't think their relationship is not something like between Sylva and Lyoto, but who know if their relationship is just as unique. Besides, Sylva and Lyoto both have champion belts, but there won't be two for both Nog and Dos, so I doubt loyalty will be an issue over being the champion.

Dos Santos and Big Nog will not fight each other. I am almost positive.
As for 108, there was some decent fights, but no big shockers. I thought Joe Lauzon would have looked a little better against Stout, but he hasn't fought in a while and might have a little rust. Dos Santos owned Yvel, which I was very happy with. Still don't know why they brought him in as he has proven to be dirty on more than one occasion ( biting, ko'ing a ref, etc). My man Semtex just melted McLovin. Why he didn't try and clinch and pull guard I will never know. Rashad was lucky that Thiago gassed himself in the third or he would have been done. He had a nice mix of striking a takedowns, but just couldn't hold Thiago down. Thiago is a pretty big 205er though. Overall good card under the circumstances with all the injuries to just about everyone who was originally scheduled to fight.

Nobody wants to seriously hurt an opponent, but I've seen way too many guys get into trouble on their feet and drop to the floor just to save their asses. The guys who can punch, kick, elbow and knee are toughest to fight. But when you go from having all those techniques available one second, then taken away if a guy drops down, a huge chunk of your offense is all of a sudden illegal. That's not fair.
Benji Radach talking. I agree. It's not a sport for cubscouts. Allowing soccer kicks and stomps would also make fights more exciting.

changing topic... now that the injury-plagued UFC 108 is done.. what do you guys think of the UFC 109 card??
main card
couture vs. coleman
marquardt vs sonnen
swick vs. thiago
maia vs d.miller
serra vs. trigg
i think that the main event will be a dud... and coleman will lose.. other matches look solid.. want to see marquardt knock sonnen out haha
Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:55 pm
I think it's crap. Aside from Maia I have no interest in any of them.
Wed Jan 20, 2010 8:59 pm
Randy Cutuor VS Mark Coleman. Very good match up. Old guys but both are still capable of some great stuff.
Thu Jan 21, 2010 3:05 am
Coleman is done and has been for some time. Only reason he's on the card is Dana White being fond of him.
Thu Jan 21, 2010 4:56 am
It's true Coleman's good days are passed, as well as for Cutuor. It'll be like seeing a fight of mere shadows of great fighters. Oh well... I always was fond of Mark Coleman as he seemed like a great country guy who values family. Wish the best of luck to him.
I also recall it was Heath Herring that replaced Coleman to fight Brock Lesnar for UFC debut match. I wonder how the fight would have been if it was Coleman whom Brock fought. Though, he's old, I gotta admit I expect much from him as a fan.
Anyways, two hall of famers going at each other... it'll be interesting.
