im not too impressed. most of the animations are still the same from last year.
i'll be more impressed when i see "100% real gameplay" at 100% speed, not all slowed down.

You have a very good point, I just read the IGN article and this is what was said.
The drawback to the new system is that the once fluid animation chains are gone. The build I played had some jerky transitions at times. While individual animations looked great, they don't connect well together. This is something VC is tweaking and hopefully can improve before NBA 2K8 ships in early October. Aside from the jerkiness, NBA 2K8 is a visual improvement over last year's model. The crowds in particular look much better. And those chunky bodies have been slimmed down a bit, so players appear more like their true selves than very tall IGN editors.
This sound like the same problem EA had with Live 07 last year when they put footplanting in their game.

im serious though. i've played 2k7 long enough to recognize every single animation they have and i recognize almost all of them in the video.
perhaps their change from "smooth" animations to "jerky" animations is perhaps to "copy" Live's quick stirke ballhandling?

Was it necessary to say those things? It might be true, but it also isn't needed on the forums. These are the kinds of things that you can say and make sense, but are also not needed to be said unless you're trying to look down on someone.

It was locked because there was already a thread made, without your "Wohoo 2k is better than Live" attitude. Nobody would have minded if you didn't add those little indirect bashings at the Live series. Just cut that out and I'm sure you would have gotten along much better.

You see, now I have to go back to my first post. I clearly said that no one here cares about the Live or 2k feud. Well, you're response was that I care enough to reply to you. And the answer is no, I don't care about Live. The reason why I responded to your posts was because I care about you trying to be a smart ass with us and cause some sort of friction between the people on this site who actually enjoy Live and yourself.

My first post was intended to refer to you as close minded. Maybe its the language that I used, but I don't see why can't you decipher what was said with your great knowledge of the English language.

I'm not offended, nor do I take sides. I'm not bothered by the fact 2k is better, I'm bothered by the fact that you're trying to be an ass by clearly going into a Live oriented forum and being a 2k enthusiast like yourself, saying the things that you've said. But was there any response? No. So you just kept going at your Live-bashing agenda, sneaking in those snide remarks and it began to annoy me.
I'm not just trying to curse at you because you piss me off, but you really seem like an intelligent fellow. If you really want to continue to try and advocate 2k here, by all means do it. But you have to drop the annoying attitude. You don't see any of us here running to the 2k forums trying to make Live sound like the greatest thing since sliced bread.

besides from some unreal dunks, I´d say this looks pretty good, still better than live 08, but not by the large margin it was last year.

But that trailer is filled with details, the crowd reaction, the people walking behind the players bench, the people walking down the stairs with their fav players jersey on. A lot more including camera men behind baseline. And not to mention some cool plays in the trailer.
And best of all, it was all 100% in game footage and not some CGI based crap to make fans go wow on something that is far better from what the actual game plays *cough* *cough*
The only thing I didn't like about this trailer:

And plus it was a fan trailer, made by MC one of the better ones out there. I doubt it will be used to advertise 2k8 on TV though.

That trailer had some good things about it but my problem is, why is alot of it cut out? Is they trying to hide the jerky animations or how the moves dont connect together that well that IGN metioned in their preview?

well yea it got some good features in it but i meant the quality of it, really poorly put together, n it was fan made anyway lol if it was a better presentation id really look into it jus the way it is doesnt catch my attention
