Re: The Official South Park Thread

it was explained in some really random episode. Maybe barbrady is only town and the cops are county?

They probably just ran out of jokes for him. The Park County police department is better for satirising police dramas as well, Barbrady's really only good for the "stupid local cop" jokes.

Another great episode, classic SP indeed. That detective is hilarious, I hope we'll see more of him.

The detective can be hilarious and over-the-top at times but I also miss the antics of classic SP characters such as Barbrady.

The best detective moment was either the Mr. Jefferson episode or the music downloading episode. "Britney can only afford a Gulfstream 2 now!"

Agreed, though for anything "big" the Park County PD is more effective from a plot standpoint.

At first I thought the episode would be disappointing but I was wrong. This was the best episode of the season so far. All 3 episodes have been great.

I thought it was brilliant. Really haven't laughed that hard at any SP for a while.

i thought it was hilarious but kind of got stale before the end when they really drove home the theater part of it, I liked it better earlier in the episode when it was more of a subtle hint that they were only doing the drama and no actual violence.

the ending was funny though when they started fighting for real all the rednecks left.

oh yea, that was classic

I thought it was neither here nor there. Felt more like they were doing a show about Jerry Springer, with wrestling gear on. Had funny moments though.

The voice that Trey used for Vince McMahon was great. It wasn't even close to being a good imitation but in the end that only made it funnier. Fine episode.

Great episode once again. Whether they're using material from the recent news or just stuff that's part of our culture, they're clearly above the competition as far as the writing goes. "They took our jobs" never fails to crack me up...

You know what I don't get? Cartman thinks the starting position of wrestling is weird, but he had no problem putting his dick in Butter's mouth.
They should have either made fun of wrestling or paid an hommage to it. This seemed almost pc for a southpark episode.

They did make fun of wrestling...the entire episode was about how a bunch of dumb kids in the backyard could be considered "good" by the masses that watch wrestling and if a real fight broke out none of the fans would watch. And if you're talking about grecoroman wrestling for homage? Of the few people i know who are int it....all of them are former wrestlers or wrestlers currently. or did you miss the point?

When the Japanese killed the football team was good.

I wonder how Trey and Matt feel about Whale Wars. Fine episode.

I've never seen the real show so I guess I couldn't really get it all, but I thought it was a little inferior to the previous 3 episodes. The reason for the Japanese to attack whales and dolphins just felt way too far fetched, even by South Park's standards. Still had some classic moments though.

I've never seen the actual show either, but I still enjoyed the parody as I figured Trey and Matt would've hit the nail on the head again. After reading up on it a bit, I'd say they did.

Any of you guys ride a harley?

Great episode. You could see where it was going as soon as the "Fags Get Out" reveal came but it didn't hurt the jokes or the story the rest of the way. I thought the Harley riders imitating the sound of the bikes was going become one of those running gags that just gets annoying but it stayed pretty funny and pretty much all of the jokes were on target in my view. Father Maxi holding up the "God Hates Fags" in imitation of the Westboro Baptist Church was another highlight. One of the top episodes of the season for me.

Only south park could take a show about bikers and make it about gay rights. Awesome. Also..was this another potshot at a tv show (sons of anarchy?)?
