Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Jeremy Piven was a dumb choice. Unless he was in character it would never have worked.

ZZ Top was probably just as bad, nothing against them but it just didn't seem right. As I said, I'd prefer more former wrestlers as guest hosts though I can't fault Vince McMahon for trying some crossovers of sorts for some mainstream appeal.

Dr. Ken is fuckin annoying!
WWE's PPV for October,"Hell in a Cell".. Lack of PPV names?creativity?
Fri Aug 07, 2009 8:19 pm
Yeah, we already talked about that. Not only was No Mercy a quite good name, but having every bout on the card be a HIAC match takes away from the match type.
Pretty bad decision ..
Fri Aug 07, 2009 9:13 pm
and its going to suck even more with the "PG13" WWE
Fri Aug 07, 2009 10:11 pm

For the killing of the No Mercy name.
Fri Aug 07, 2009 10:28 pm
what sucks more for me is whenever the old WWF was going a little weird on me I would flip over to WCW Nitro, and watch that for a bit.
Last night I watched some TNA and watched as some British guys beat the shit out of Sting. Then here comes Foley and that ex WWE MMA guy. Then comes the NWO, i mean Main Event Mafia and I was happy. It was a nice progression to a full ring brawl with the ring bell person going crazy and stuff. I was enjoying it. Then some scrub comes out with a chain whipping around his head and everyone runs from him.

Let's say it's a swerve.
Who do you think Triple H is calling last night? HBK?
Fri Aug 07, 2009 11:07 pm
What did he say anyway? Didn't watch Raw last night.
Apparently the new PPV names were results from "fan polls" at WWE.com (that I didn't notice at all). The September PPV is named "Breaking Point." And it seems that it replaced Unforgiven.

He hints on reforming a group, possibly Evolution? No. He shuts that idea after saying that Orton is a jerk, Batista is always injured and Flair is signing autographs in the independent circuits. He then says that maybe he'll make one phone call, "and if their not down with that, he's got two words for ya"..
During the skit, HHH was talking with someone saying "you don't do jobs" and "are you ready"..
Sat Aug 08, 2009 12:27 am
It was HBK, no-brainer. Probably setting up for a Legacy-DX match at SummerSlam.
Sat Aug 08, 2009 12:37 am
Oh well DX in a PG 13 sucks.
Sat Aug 08, 2009 6:57 am
Still, DX will probably fare better in PG than the Divas division does.
Some old-time videos:
Funny to think that those two wrestlers with rather generic gimmicks (or virtually no gimmick) would go on to be two of the biggest stars in the industry and main event on PPV together. No one at the time probably thought that would happen. And of course, Paul Bearer is there as Percy Pringle.
A couple of other pre-Taker videos:

As long as legacy gets an actual rub, I'm down with that.
Undertaker has always been my fav. I can't tell you how many people I've annoyed by chokeslamming them.
Sat Aug 08, 2009 10:00 am
I was thinking if this incarnation of DX would go up for the tag titles.
Sat Aug 08, 2009 6:37 pm
I wouldn't mind that, it would continue to bring some credibility to the belts and I'd like to see HBK get some sort of extended run with a championship, even if it's just the tag titles. I'm guessing they'll go for an extended run with Jericho and Big Show though.

Evolution of Kane:
Big Red Machine --> Big Red Monster --> Big Red Jobber(?)
Sun Aug 09, 2009 1:23 am
Seems like after his mask was removed, Kane started to devolve.
Sun Aug 09, 2009 11:37 pm
It's funny, I remember "When will Kane unmask?" being a regular mailbag question on Rajah.com. Seemed like a lot of fans were bored with the mask, though as soon as it happened it kind of watered down the character. I think they've gotten pretty good use out of the gimmick though and it's a character that can lose a few matches to put people over without losing too much credibility so his role probably won't change much. Can't exactly make him a fulltime jobber, can't really have him in the main event on a permanent basis. He's a solid midcarder at this point.
Sun Aug 09, 2009 11:54 pm
I think they need to do a fireball on him and bring the damn mask back
Mon Aug 10, 2009 12:24 am
It'd probably lead to another Undertaker feud though and they've done that to death.
Speaking of Taker, I've read that there are plans to put him in a program with Dolph Ziggler upon his return. I can't say I'm too enthused about that, personally I wouldn't mind seeing a Taker/Jericho feud.

I dont watch smackdown since the only air time it gets around me is a once a week reair at 2am. I watched this week's fatal 4 way match and got my first glimpse of Ziggler. How the fuck is he not some random ECW talent. Why is he even considered a championship contender....
Mon Aug 10, 2009 1:04 am
They're high up on him, apparently.

I think he started out as one. I was quite surprised that he was anywhere near any type of gold with a gimmick like that.

Well uh seen Night of Champions and err, found it weird that the Intercontinental Championship match (Ziggler vs. Mysterio) has a video introduction.
