Matt Hardy was a sick heel vs Jeff. I hated him before that but they wasted the opportunity. That guy has massive potential as a hell. As a face he just sucks up to the fans.

Morrisson going up against Jeff for the WHC on SummerSlam (which logo was revised to look like a circus show). IMO SmackDown really needs more great performers.
christian. wrote:Regarding Kendrick, I think the WWE should give him a feud with Chavo. That guy doesnt have any serious matches lately. 0-3(or 4, not quite sure) against Hornswoggle. C'mon?!
Agreed. I've always been a fan of Londrick and when Kendrick gone solo with a generic bodyguard I sensed that his career and future pushes will be over.

I like the heel Matt Hardy during his Mattitude era/v1 gimmick. That was also the time on where the light heavyweight/cruiserweight division has it's own prestige.

I am really a BIG Smackdown fan, I think that would be a great match. Next generation superstars are on the rise. Way to go blue brand! Yay!
RAW is getting worst imo, Cena everyweek. Glad that they took HHH out of the title picture. Abraham's talk show is more entertaining.

Same here, especially the 2003-2005 SmackDown. The roster was always full then. Since Eddie died, the show felt odd.
There's still 'taker and HBK's return to wait for.
Sun Aug 02, 2009 2:59 am
Isnt it odd? We were just talking about this guy then
suddenly...
Sun Aug 02, 2009 3:12 am

Alright that was a great coincidence.
Sun Aug 02, 2009 3:20 am
I miss Eddy. He had so much passion. Losing him was like losing 5 other wrestlers at the same time.
Sun Aug 02, 2009 3:24 am
Same here, and he brings so much intensity and hype into matches (except for that long feud with Mysterio before he turned face again and died).

I thought that's why we were talking about him, that happened a couple of days ago.
I've read that the office was high up on him which is why he got a bit of a singles push shortly after the split with London, but things obviously fell through.
Sun Aug 02, 2009 1:07 pm
My bad, I never thought of that. Me (and Lean?) were unaware of that. Sorry.
Sun Aug 02, 2009 1:08 pm
No apologies necessary, I never thought to mention it specifically as I thought that's why were talking about him in the first place.

Currently watching Smackdown, I don't if its only me. Jeff has a bad mic skills.
And oh, the Friday Night Delight has a title match against Jeff.

No only you, that has been mentioned a few times in this thread.
Since Masters is back, thought I might post this again:

Lol @ Jericho/Show's theme.
It's a big_big_big_shit.
Mon Aug 03, 2009 9:06 pm
They have their own entrance theme as a tag team?

Jeff Hardy is never going to be one of the all-time great talkers, but what's a bigger disappointment for me at the moment is Randy Orton. I've said it before but when Jericho drones on in his promos, I'm keen to see his character get his ass kicked. With Orton, I just don't care at the moment. A Cena/Orton segment is just painful at the moment, but then it could just be that the main event on RAW needs someone else in there for a change...like a returning HBK.
And speaking of people who should be back at some point this year, I thought for a change of pace in the thread I'd go ahead and rank Undertaker's 17 Wrestlemania matches.
1. Shawn Michaels (Wrestlemania 25, 2009)
Instantly up there, the Match of the Year and surely one of the greatest of all-time. It's amazing that two guys in their mid 40s with various ailments went out there and stole the show. Should've been the main event and despite its place on the card, probably was. Taker and HBK work well together but have had few enough one-on-one bouts that it was fresh and it certainly became historic. Easily number one.
2. Edge (Wrestlemania 24, 2008)
Another great match and it was great to see Taker win the title in the main event. Sure, he did that in 1997 against Psycho Sid but that match wasn't nearly as good, they still didn't let him win clean even though he was a face at the time and Edge is a much better work for him to be in the ring with. It's a shame they cut the reign short because of the Vickie Guerrero angle.
3. Triple H (Wrestlemania 17, 2001)
That whole show was great but this was one of Taker's best Wrestlemania bouts as well. One of his best entrances in the American Badass era, zooming down the entrance ramp on one of his own motorcycles in front of his real hometown crowd. The two veterans worked a good match with some really good fakeouts and near-falls.
4. Batista (Wrestlemania 23, 2007)
His second most recent Wrestlemania title win, this was also a very good match with someone he hadn't worked with extensively before. They did a pretty good job of making the Undertaker look vunerable and at times it looked like they might do the swerve and have Batista retain, even if the odds of that happening were slim to nil. Not good enough for the top three in my book, but very enjoyable.
5. Kane (Wrestlemania 14, 1998)
Not an all-time classic in terms of the workrate but it was a really good angle coming in and the match itself was pretty good because Glen Jacobs is another big man who can actually work, whereas many of the other "monster" characters Taker has had to face throughout the years have been very poor workers. It was a good match for the feud too as Taker gained some measure of revenge but Kane looked very strong, kicking out of two tombstones.
6. Ric Flair (Wrestlemania 18, 2002)
Two of the all-time greats going head-to-head. Taker was the brash heel here while Flair was the face making a comeback of sorts and while I tend to prefer Taker as a face, it was an enjoyable match. Also somewhat noteworthy as win number ten in the streak, with Taker counting to ten on his fingers while standing on the apron, making a big deal of it and setting it up as a central theme to his future Wrestlemania angles.
7. Randy Orton (Wrestlemania 21, 2005)
This could arguably be higher on the list as it was a good match that helped solidify Orton's place as a main event calibre wrestler, even in the loss, given the way his brief title reign was kind of a flop. It also turned him heel for good after a very wishy-washy face run that the fans just couldn't get behind. The buildup to the match was pretty good as well and for a moment it did look like Orton would pickup the win when his Hall of Famer father interfered, leading to a good fakeout for us smarks.
8. Psycho Sid (Wrestlemania 13, 1997)
This one benefits greatly from being Taker's first Wrestlemania title win. The match itself wasn't all that great, as good as you could expect really. Still, it was his first Wrestlemania main event and it led to his longest run with a major title in the WWF/WWE, which brings it up into my top ten.
9. Diesel (Wrestlemania 12, 1996)
Kevin Nash cops a fair bit of criticism for his workrate (and rightfully so, at times) but he was in pretty good health at the time and he probably worked one of his best matches against Undertaker at Wrestlemania 12. In fact, I'd say the best against anyone not named Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels. It wasn't a classic but it was a solid clash of big men.
10. Kane (Wrestlemania 20, 2004)
Not as good as their match at Wrestlemania 14, but the buildup was good with the eventual return of Taker in his Deadman gimmick. Seeing the old entrance with the druids was probably better than the match itself, but I'd still put it above some of the other matches he's had at Wrestlemania.
11. Big Boss Man (Wrestlemania 15, 1999)
It would be lower if not for some of his other matches (or in some cases the opponents therein). It's certainly not one of the better Hell in a Cell matches but the simple fact that it had that gimmick did make it a little better and the "hanging" of Big Boss Man was kind of daring I suppose. I liked the Ministry angle so I can forgive the match not being quite up to scratch.
12. Mark Henry (Wrestlemania 22, 2006)
It could probably be lower, but seeing Undertaker tombstone Mark Henry was pretty impressive and it was a bit more competitive than a couple of his earlier Wrestlemania matches so I'll slot it in here, most reluctantly.
13. Jake "The Snake" Roberts (Wrestlemania 8, 1992)
It could've been higher on the list but with the length of the match, it was basically a glorified squash. Roberts did get some offense in from memory but he was on the way out and Taker was fresh of a face turn and picked up the win with a tombstone on the concrete to put an end to the feud. Alright for what it was.
14. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka (Wrestlemania 7, 1991)
The Undertaker's Wrestlemania debut. It was definitely a glorified squash match though, but it helped him get over as a dominant force who would go on to defeat Hulk Hogan for his first championship by the end of the year. Besides, it could've been worse...
15. King Kong Bundy (Wrestlemania 11, 1995)
Nothing memorable here, it was short, to the point and it continued a rather lacklustre feud with Ted Dibiase Sr's Million Dollar Corporation. Bundy is a legend in his own right but he was starting to get on in years here and didn't really compliment Taker very well. But still, it could've been worse...
16. Big Show & A-Train (Wrestlemania 19, 2003
Really, it should've just been a one-on-one match with Big Show especially with the office lacking so much confidence in Nathan Jones that they took him out and turned it into a handicap match. Pretty much a letdown. However, it can still get worse...
17. Giant Gonzalez (Wrestlemania 9, 1993)
And here we have it. Now, Giant Gonzalez, much like The Great Khali, could be one of the nicest people in the world. And far be it from me to say someone shouldn't try their hand at something but the only thing going for these guys is/was their size because they are/were simply terrible in the ring. The Khali of his day, Gonzalez' feud was disappointing at best and terrible at worst and the Wrestlemania match was nothing special. Taker's only win at Wrestlemania that wasn't decisive (he won by DQ), it's a far cry from what his match with HBK would be some sixteen years later.

Yeah, the WWE creative team just mixed the two entrance themes and it really sounds horrible.
The theme will start with "Well its the Big Show" then followed by Jerichos song and then.. "It's a big(skip)big(skip)big(skip)show tonight.. then the break the walls chorus.
@Andrew, that was a loooooooooong post. Im not yet done reading it.

Kind of makes the Rated RKO theme seem like a work of art.

Loved Jericho on commentary yesterday. He was bragging how there are 40 titles between him and Big Show and asked how many titles Lawler ever won. Since Lawler has won like 150 titles he said "quite a few".
Of course the average WWE fan doesn't know that Lawler has had that many titles, but I guess that was a nice little 'easter egg' for those who know.
Wed Aug 05, 2009 10:27 am
Jericho probably intentionally set up that 'easter egg'.
I <3 Jericho.
Wed Aug 05, 2009 10:45 am
I was wondering when we'd get a guest host that would turn heel. that was a nice surprise
Wed Aug 05, 2009 11:16 am
I'm looking forward to next week. I liked Shaq's appearance but other than that I've preferred the guest hosts that are former wrestlers.
Wed Aug 05, 2009 1:11 pm
Was that the last week RAW was hosted by a guest? If no, who's on next week, didn't catch that?
Wed Aug 05, 2009 1:15 pm
someone who goes by the name of Slaughter goes this coming week
Fri Aug 07, 2009 12:44 am
There's like 10 times more people who know the wwe compared to who Jeremy Pivins is. Why are they sucking up like that? Vince's minority complex (sp?) acting up again? Undignified.
