i feel the same way. they've been like that since season 5 or 6(after Trinity season)

my roommate thinks the old lady is the killer and i REALLY hope not cuz I think Pdub's nostradamus-like prediction about professor gellar not being real semi-spoiled that season

i think deb will start getting out of control, start killing people.. basically her & dexter's roles reversed and he will have to stop her from killing but then maybe at the end they both kill the old lady if she's actually the killer

Qballer, your roommate is smart. I think that as well. But at first I was like how'd she get all the strength? But then I saw the 2nd episode with she holding a gun and stuff and forcing guys to do the actual killing. Also, there are many weak links to the plot this season. For example, the whole intro point of Vogel, she basically being Harry's therapist. When was Harry sharing all this stuff? And he never was once thought of telling this to Dexter? "Son, go ahead and be famous by butchering people but always remember that someone can turn you to the cops any minute."

It's the last season. So, at the end of the season, I think Deb will be killed by Dexter which will be Dexter's last kill. As for Vogel, she will be Dexter's & Deb's kill.

Disappointed in the final season so far.

And what the fuck is up with Angel? Fucking annoying piece of emotional shit.

Vogel being the killer would be way too obvious of a twist in my opinion. Right now it points toward it, but I don't see it happening. If she knows Dex so well she also knows that Dex is damn good detective, and that it wouldn't be too smart to interact with him as soon as she starts killing. Unless she's a schizophrenic and legitimately doesn't know she's killing people.

But yeah regardless, the two episodes have been okay. It's probably not a popular way to suddenly introduce a character into the show that knows everything about him, but I don't see it as a big problem. It makes sense in my opinion and it is a somewhat of a creative way to give us a new character that knows everything instead of a total outsider. We'll see what happens.

How do you see Dexter's chances of surviving this season? I thought about this and was comparing it to Breaking Bad and I feel like they could go the exact opposite directions in terms of the lead characters. Dexter feels like it could end with a pretty happy ending whereas BrBa could easily end in a huge blast in the end where Walt is offed.

Dexter or Deb, one will be killed. Most likely Deb I think. And the ending might be shown as Harrison having the Young Dexter syndromes.

or what if Deb is the killer? then Dexter has to make a choice... follow the code, or save Deb.
I think there's a good chance that the killer is female because when they showed the hand, seems like they put a glove on the hand to disguise it

I doubt Deb would go from 'police lieutenant' to 'serial killer who knows how to remove a specific piece of a human brain' in only six months. She seems to be trying to punish herself more than anything at the moment, so I can't see her going out of her way to kill innocent people.

It could be Vogel, but I'd be personally disappointed if the writers went for the obvious twist yet again. Hopefully she is just around to help Dexter fix his relationship with Deb.

Seems there can be no twist without disappointment. Vogel or Deb. Unless they show a whole new killer but then they won't have enough time to explain.

Best twist would be if the killer was Masuka  (Y)

It's most likely another patient of Vogel's. It would be too easy for it to be Vogel unless the twist was that she tries to work with Dexter on a victim. She could have used that guy to test Dexter's investigative skills while having some kind of plan for him. She didn't appear out of nowhere to help hunt this killer and just happen to council Harry on Dexter in the past. There is a connection. The scapegoat was a setup for a Dexter kill, but the twist was that he was already dead, leading to the next scapegoat, most likely.

Deb is too busy to be this killer. I don't think she would cut a person's skull off and scoop out a part of their brain and then put it back. She is completely torn up with guilt after killing LaGuerta.

I think it's some "opposite" or arch rival of Vogel. We see the contrast in Deb and Dexter. Dexter is emotionless, while Deb pretty much lives based on her feelings.

The killer could have a contrast with Vogel. Maybe former Captain Matthews for a sick twist with a connection to Harry? I don't think the writers would make it like a soap opera, though.

The connection is that the killer is directly interacting with her, no? Then again, she was introduced at a time where she hadn't received the scoop of brain yet, I think.

Probably misreading your point anyway.

Matthews would be unpredictable but would be unreasonable as well.

The brain process eliminates Deb, Matthews or any other known characters. But if it's a former patient of Vogel, where would they go with the story? What's that got to do with Dexter?

Starting to get interesting. But goddamn, I hate how they totally wiped out Quinn's memory. I hope he starts to get suspicious of Dexter again this season.

Also, I found weird how the video footage Dexter showed Deb almost looked like it was from the show we are watching, shit had camera cuts and stuff. Talk about breaking the 4th wall.
They might just be using Vine.

Quinn's retarded. I think we have figured that out by now. He didn't even want to look at the pad of paper to see what Deb had written. I didn't like that scene where Dex and Vogel just abduct Deb from the interrogation room. Not even the question of whether she should be taken to a hospital? It was probably for the suspense and previews, with poor writing to continue the story.

Too much blind trust is happening. Vogel asks Dexter why he didn't kill Deb when she found out who he really is, and now Dexter just leaves her to keep an eye on Deborah?

Exactly my thought, and it just feels way off when you compare that to what you would expect from him.
I liked that episode a little more but it was still fairly weak, and the Deb character is more annoying than dramatic at this point.

I really hope that the guy with the cut behind his back wearing a cap as shown in the next episode is not the killer. Then where is the twist? Also, they kind of killed it with Vogel doing a book. And I'm still kinda confused on what went down on the Sussman case? How did he end up or like how many times?

To be honest, I expected this season to have more storylines.

@Pdub, I think the hospital was out of the equation mainly because everybody knew she was hung-over. But ya, I mean how could they exit and leave without anyone noticing? And nobody saw Deb when she entered?

Sussman was used by the real killer to carry out the execution. Killer eliminated all traces of him existing by hiding the fact that he took a piece of Sussman's brain and will most likely go after Dexter and Vogel now

I think Quinn took the whole Deb confession as her feeling guilty about LaGuerta's death, rather than her admitting to actually killing her. Clearly he still has feelings for her (or at least the writers are making it seem that way). Wouldn't be surprised if they ended up together again by the end of the series.

I'm still waiting to see when Hannah comes back too. According to IMDB she is in episodes 6-9. :cheeky:

They totally changed the Jamie character. In previous seasons, she was the sweet knows little about the world babysitter and now she is riding Quinn like he is the last man alive.

I don't know about Deb ending up with Quinn. She doesn't have or I don't think will have that kind of feelings towards him.

You guys really like girl from Chuck, huh? :D Well, her accent is the best thing about her. But when I first saw her in the first episode of Chuck, she drove me away with those ugly teeth :P
