I think NovU shouldn't be allowed to comment on anyone's gaming setup until he stops using a projector for gaming.

And I thought the desk on the left was an ironing board at first.

Mine hasn't really changed all that much, except for new 27" LED and new keyboard I guess:

Here's mine. A lonely corner. :(

Among that pile of junk is the 13-year old computer stand and mouse pad. Dusty black hardware. And I still love that 4-year old Creative sound system.

Isn't that a Samsung monitor? 750 or 950 something?

Mine? Yes, that's the 950 one.

Yall have nice and tidy setups but surprised more of you guys aren't using dual monitor setup(except Jao).

el_badman: I also changed the keyboard recently. Saitek had a cheap build quality.
Lean: Looks like a nice setup but no leg room?

Haha. But it's hard to go back to a 45-60 inch TV when you get used to cinema-sque big screens. Projector is a cheaper option if you want to go for 100"+ screen.

Sadly, no leg room. Just have to be in a position where I don't hit the unit or the sub-woofer.

I've been looking at a new monitor since I hate the input lag on the tv I use. I was considering that one. How is the lag and have you tried the 3d? I was looking at an Asus 144hz 27 inch one but there is this report of bad pixel inversion creating a screen door effect.

I really like it so far, very responsive and at 120Hz it makes a nice difference in smoothness. However, I have yet to fine tune the 3D settings, but by default it's far from impressive. And unfortunately, I learned a bit too late that Samsung and Nvidia pretty much divorced when it comes to 3D vision, and this monitor does not actually support it.

what was weird was playing Payday with you Pat, with the smooth motion and other 120hz BS features of my TV...and even though I could notice the delay between my monitor and TV during the splash screens, I had no issues in game

Yeah that monitor is an officially supported amd hd3d monitor.

I didn't either. There are some settings to reduce the lag on my set, but on top of that, having a 47" hdtv 2-3 feet away, it's hard to be competitive some times. Especially in 2K trying to figure out the shot timing.

So I plan to go smaller and move my tv to the living room. I just don't want to lose the 3D feature, but I still want improved input response. I'm willing to try active shutter glasses compared to the passive 3D my tv has, but apparently there are monitors that seem too good to be true, and instead of halving the vertical resolution like passive tech, they half the horizontal resolution, or at least make it look like they do with the "pixel inversion" screen door effect in 3D mode.

I'd move the tower to right most side that it touches the metal posts, have the AVR placed on top of the sub-woofer and move the sub-woofer to the left most side. Leg room!
Would also place the modem in the same plane as the speakers if the modem can fit in there.
