well i like the whole LA thing, being from LA but i really hope they put in all the details like they did for NYC in GTA IV. I dont know if i'd buy the game after GTA IV, which didn't impress me gameplay-wise

Could certainly be fan-made. History suggests they'd go with a different protagonist, though if they are going for multiple protagonists perhaps they'd reuse him briefly.

How about they move it to a city in another country which also has lots of people, cars, business and crime. Like instead of a non US coming to US this time its a US dude going to another country for some reason.

Dan Houser once said that GTA was about American culture (though they did make a game set in London)

That was before the Houser's were involved. Rockstar North, who were DMA, are in Scotland.

With GTA III and beyond the Houser's reinvisioned the franchise as an exploration of American culture. GTA IV recreates NYC, and they were open about this, because they live in NYC.

So some people were right predicting LA as the city so it'll probably be called Los Santos. Although before the annoucement I was hoping that it would be Vice City. I mean Vice City is a great game but making a modern version of Miami would be really great.

agreed, a return to Vice City would be awesome (I'm still waiting for some total conversion modes for GTA IV PC with the VC map)

I'm not sure if you have seen this already Jao but some people have made a SA map conversion for GTA IV. Pretty cool for me actually.

Also speculation Tommy from GTA Vice city may be the playable character.

EDIT: I think it's not just Los Santos but the whole San Andreas. The licensce plate says San Andreas for some cars.
