If there's one thing I learned from benji's medic skills is that a live medic healing the entire team is better than a dead medic who was healing just one guy.

And like I said to one total stranger that I just played with recently who called my engineering skills 'retarded' lol, if you depend on a specific class teammate to bail you out that means you really suck, after which I finally managed to avoid being ass raped by that spy and build my sentry to a prime location where it murdered marvelously and gave great enough time for the cart to be pushed back from the final point to far off the tunnel entrance. /end rant

Mann vs. Machine is a new co-operative game for Team Fortress 2 that lets you and five friends wage a desperate battle to stop a lethal horde of robots from deploying a bomb in one of Mann Co.’s many strongholds. Take advantage of breaks between waves to upgrade your abilities and weapons. Survive all the waves in any of a variety of missions to earn incredible loot.

Steps to help you connect to the Team Fortress 2 Mann VS Machine co-op game:

1. On the main TF2 screen don't pick PLAY CO-OP
MvM is still buggy and the matchmaking still sucks with long wait times. Relying on matchmaking is a bad console habit.

2. Instead click SERVERS
3. On Map box type: mvm
4. Pick Latency to be less than 50 or 100, whatever value you can tolerate.
5. Select your suitable Location.
6. Anti-cheat box pick Secure
7. Check the 'Is not password protected' box

Once you set those click the Refresh All tab, then wait for the servers to appear. You know it's done when the Quick Refresh tab is available again.

8. Look for servers with less than 6 players so you can play.
The max player for MvM is 6, anyone who connects after that will just be spectators.
You can spectate if you're willing to wait for a slot.

9. Click Connect
Once connected you might find your slot taken by someone who loaded the map faster, you can either spectate and wait for an open slot or find a different server.

Logging on to TF2 with Ubuntu will get you a free TF2 item!

Last time Valve released an item to celebrate TF2 being playable on another OS (Mac) it was the Earbuds.
What's the big deal?
Those Earbuds now cost $30 in real life money and is the high-end currency being used in the TF2 trading economy.

Don't know if the Linux item will get a price like the Earbuds since back then TF2 wasn't free-to-play when it was released for the Mac. Then again not many people use Ubuntu lolololololol.

So get your potential might be $30 in the future TF2 item right now!

TF2 has been playable on Linux for months...

But there wasn't a free item then!

Here's how to get Tux and not install Linux like you should:
1. Download VMWare Player.
2. Download Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10.
3. Make a Ubuntu VM in VMWare Player, should take about two minutes.
4. Install VMWare Tools and Steam. "Install" TF2, pause it and exit Steam.
5. Copy over source*.gcf, source2007*.gcf and tf2*.gcf from Windows steam folder into home/.steam/Steam/SteamApps and rename them so the first letter of each word is uppercase. (You can drag and drop into the VM window to copy.)
6. Relaunch Steam and verify the game cache, you still might need to download a bit more, there's some Linux stuff.
7. Launch TF2. Even if it never loads and just crashes you'll get Tux.
