It's part of why we have some respect. We have, except for our many crimes, respected the fallen of our "enemies" not as enemies but as fellow humans for a long time.

There's something to be said for being better than the vile, and trying to set a standard through your actions.

Sometimes you may have to drift into barbarism to bring down barbarians, as we did in this case and as we have done before, but there is no justification for staying there. Nor celebrating it.

The Nazi's did what they did to Hitler's body to prevent what the Soviets would have done and used it for. And they were right to do so. We were right to give bin Laden a proper burial.
