DENVER BRONCOS (3-8) at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (7-4) SUN DEC 5 - 1:00 PM

Image

Injury Report: LB Elvis Dumervil (Torn Pectoral), Chris Kuper (Questionable, Broken Tailbone), WR Eddie Royal (Torn Bicep)

• It doesn't bode well when the #32 scoring offense averaging 14.8 points per game come to visit the #2 scoring defense in the league who are allowing just 18.0 points per game and 292.0 yards per game. The Broncos will be without their main wide receiver for another week as the star studded receiver nurses a torn bicep. The Broncos have struggled immensely without him and Elivs Dumervil.

• The Chiefs haven't given up a lot of sacks this season, they haven't recorded a lot of sacks as well, but one person they will need to be weary of is linebacker D.J. Williams who leads the Broncos in tackles (80), sacks (8) and interceptions (5). The Chiefs running attack has slowed down in recent weeks, especially Jamaal Charles who has not had a 100 yard game for five weeks now but ran over the 1000 mark in the Seattle loss last weekend. The Broncos will need to establish the run and stop the run if they will want to upset and perhaps spoil the Kansas City Chiefs season.

Image

Injury Report: LB Cameron Sheffield (Pinched Nerve) LB Jovan Belcher (Broken Elbow)

• The Chiefs will look to rebound after their ghastly performence against the Seattle Seahawks. The Chiefs are 5-0 at home this season and will look to push that to 6-0 with a big win here today against the Denver Broncos. This game is important since the Chargers trail the Chiefs by one game and play against each other next week. The Chiefs will need to win this game to improve to 8-4 and move one step closer to taking the division crown.

• Eric Berry the top five first round draft pick by the Kansas City Chiefs leads the team in tackles this season with 59 (5.3 per game, on part to finish with 85 tackles). He is one of the main reasons why the Chiefs secondary is top notch this season, another is their first round draft pick from the previous year Tyson Jackson who has a team best nine sacks on the season. The Chiefs will blitz a lot against Kyle Orton throw him off balance.

Prediction: I'm taking the Chiefs, 21-16

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (8-4) at SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (6-6) SUN DEC 12 - 4:15 PM

Image

Injury Report: LB Cameron Sheffield (Pinched Nerve) LB Jovan Belcher (Broken Elbow)

• Coming into the game the Kansas City Chiefs will try to rebound by claiming the division title in Qualcomm Stadium. The Chiefs defense are allowing just 18.4 points per game whilst the San Diego Chargers offense is scoring 29.5 points per game. The Chargers are allowing 229.3 yards through the air, but the Chiefs weakest point is their air attack and will try to run the ball on a Chargers defense allowing just 88.6 yards per game.

• Watch out for how these teams attack each other, in the season-opener the Chiefs won 17-10 through strong defense and Philip Rivers barely through any yardage against the Chiefs secondary. The secondary is better now even more so than back then, watch out for game changer Jamaal Charles and wide receiver Dwayne Bowe.

Image

Injury Report: LB Donald Butler (Complete ACL Tear)

• Earlier this season the teams met, the Chiefs upset the Chargers and defeated them 17-10. They allowed just 210 yards that night and restricted Philip Rivers to completing 14 of his 23 passes for 137 yards. He could only muster a 74.0 quarterback rating, so look for Rivers to redeem today and show he is an elite quarterback.

• The Chiefs have had some problems recently with their run defense, Darren Sproles rushed for 71 yards in the season-opener and will try to breach the century mark this time around, the Chargers are probably the most well rounded team, but a loss here would see them fall to 6-7, and eliminated from the playoffs.

Prediction: I'm taking the Chargers, 27-6

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (8-5) at ST. LOUIS RAMS (3-10) SUN DEC 19 - 1:00 PM

Image

Injury Report: LB Cameron Sheffield (Pinched Nerve) LB Jovan Belcher (Broken Elbow)

• The Chiefs are coming off a dissapointing loss to the San Diego Chargers, the Chiefs had an opportunity to kick another AFC West opponent out of the playoff picture in another straight week but failed to do so and couldn't get anything going on the offensive side of the football settling for four field goals. The good news is now they face the St. Louis Rams, who are 3-10 and one of the worst teams in the league, the Chiefs defense which has been pretty good this season should be able to contain Sam Bradford and their non-existing running game due to Steven Jackson being placed on IR.

• I don't know how the Rams are going to do, they're missing their young receivers in Donnie Avery and another top receiver of theirs in Danny Amendola. This looks like it's going to be a blowout on paper and I wouldn't get excited if I were a Rams fan, Infact I would turn the television off since this game is not going to be pretty. I would be surprised if Jamaal Charles does not rush for at least 100 yards, he's been AWOL with the century mark these past few weeks, it's now seven straight games without a 100 yard game, after starting the season with three in the first six games.

Image

Injury Report: WR Danny Amendola (Broken Jaw), WR Donnie Avery (Complete ACL Tear), RB Kenneth Darby (Broken Wrist), RG John Greco (Dislocated Ankle), LB Josh Hull (Complete ACL Tear), RB Steven Jackson (Broken Wrist)

• I would not be surprised to see the Rams be shut out in this game at all, don't rule it out, they are missing a lot of players that could of impacted this game (Steven Jackson to list a few). The Rams are averaging 18.4 points a game, coincidentally, the Chiefs are allowing that same exact number on defense, so expect the Rams to pick up a few points, but not many. May score one touchdown by Sam Bradford but that would be all the firework display for the day.

• Talking of Sam Bradford, the young rookie quarterback is on the verge of becoming the third rookie quarterback to throw for 3000 yards joining Matt Ryan and Peyton Manning as the few. Bradford needs to throw 135 more yards to record that feat, such is available against the Chiefs defense. Bradford has recorded a 73.1 rating and has thrown 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. This could be a close game, should be a blowout but I will give the benefit of the doubt.

Prediction: I'm taking the Chiefs, 17-14

TENNESSEE TITANS (12-2) at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (9-5) SUN DEC 26 - 1:00 PM

Image

Injury Report: LB Cameron Sheffield (Pinched Nerve) LB Jovan Belcher (Broken Elbow)

• The Chiefs will roll into Tennessee with a lot of momentum. They will face the Titans who will be without their start tackle, a center that anchors the line and they will be without the best offensive player in the NFL, possibly the best NFL player in the NFL, Chris Johnson. The Titans are a solid team this season, they have lost to Pittsburgh (27-22) and Indianapolis (31-16) in close games, the latter wasn't but you get what I'm saying, they are one of the best teams in the NFL this season, possibly the creme of the crop and the Chiefs have a chance to steal a win against a injury depleted team.

• Expect the Chiefs to try and contain Vince Young. Young has thrown 23 touchdowns this season but has also thrown 21 interceptions to go with his 505 attempts and 3514 yards, don't forget he leads the Titans in rushing, Young has rushed for 831 yards but has fumbled the ball away 6 times, he's also been sacked 43 times, so the Chiefs will be able to get to him and bring him down.

Image

Injury Report: C Eugene Amano (Foot Fracture), CB Roderick Hood (Complete ACL Tear), RB Chris Johnson (Foot Fracture), LT Michael Roos (Hip Bursitis), LB Will Witherspoon (Torn Shoulder)

• If I'm the Titans, I don't know what to expect. The Chiefs have been solid at home this season (6-0), but have been poor on the road, finishing up 3-5 on the season. The Titans will be able to win this game, the Chiefs are the second last remaining team to be unbeaten at home this season (The Saints are 7-0 and 13-1 overall). The Titans will need to trick the Chiefs secondary and Vince Young will need to be godlike today if the Titans will want to win.

Prediction: I'm taking the Chiefs, 34-17

OAKLAND RAIDERS (6-9) at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (9-6) SUN JAN 2 - 1:00 PM

Image

Injury Report: SS Tyvon Branch (Broken Elbow), WR Johnnie Lee Higgins (Foot Fracture)

• There might not be a lot going for the Oakland Raiders at this point of their season, but they can still play spoiler, and against one of their most hated rivals. The Raiders won the matchup earlier in the season to a 16-15 score, so expect this one to be just as close. Darren McFadden will carry the load for the Raiders and expect them to play inspired.

Image

Injury Report: LB Cameron Sheffield (Pinched Nerve) LB Jovan Belcher (Broken Elbow)

• Win and they're in. That's what's going around Kansas right now. The Chiefs have been AWOL from the playoffs for a couple of years, and today's game, if it's a win will mean they clinch their division for the first time in a long time. If the Chiefs lose and the Chargers win, the Chargers are going to the playoffs, so it's vital the Chiefs pick up the win/

Prediction: I'm taking the Chiefs, 21-14

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (10-6) at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (13-3) SAT JAN 15 - 4:30 PM

Image

Injury Report: LB Cameron Sheffield (Pinched Nerve) LB Jovan Belcher (Broken Elbow)

Image

Injury Report: CB Leigh Bodden (Torn Rotator Cuff), LT Matt Light (Broken Wrist), DE Ty Warren (Knee Bursitis)

Prediction: This is quite an intriguing matchup. One of these teams will probably be the favorite to make it to the Super Bowl. I'm going with an upset: Kansas City wins, 27-17.

Other Divisional Matchups: Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks

Prediction: This might end up being an interesting game. These teams are pretty even and they match up well. Winner goes to the Super Bowl. Outcome: Chiefs win, 41-17.
