At one point it looked like they were going to recast the voices, but ultimately that didn't happen. Depending on who's back on the smaller writing staff, I believe there are a couple who worked on The Simpsons before (as well as on Family Guy and The Critic).

So, the last episode was kind of ordinary. Had its funny moments like Fry on the Millionaire parody but for the most part is was so-so. Not awful, entertaining enough to watch, but not the quality I was hoping for in the revival.

Last one was funny, and this one was great. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

EDIT: I'm actually liking this. The Professor arc, and now the Hermes (even if obvious) arc worked with other characters being their "normal" self in Fry and Bender.

The Professor was forced into facing his wasn't the smartest and the "reality" of his idol and Hermes forced into the idea that bureaucratic things mattered. I know they won't matter when needed for the funny or good story but still..

It's why I thought things improved tenfold over the last two episodes compared to the first few. They got back into giving us adventures with both funny and some character.

I quite liked the latest episode, though I really should've seen the reveal with Hermes coming. Good plot, funny lines/moments and some good backstory. Good to see.

Thoughts on the latest episode? I really enjoyed it, I kind of saw the resolution coming (and the resolution being repeated as they were coming up to the right moment) but entertaining nevertheless. It had one of the more creative Planet of the Apes homages as well.

It was great

The last two episodes have had the "sad" or "serious" moments too, and the parodies revolving around modern pop culture have stopped for now

I quite enjoyed that episode because that hypothesis explains why some of my dreams actually happen.

Another fine episode, though Leela's remark about being single seems to suggest that whether or not they continue to have Fry and Leela as a couple will depend on the writer or the joke they need to make.

It's good to see them pairing up different characters. Amy and Nibbler in that episode and Fry and Farnsworth in the Da Vinci episode.

Yes, I'm enjoying that, it's giving us something new. There's really a divide between the first three episodes and the last three completely different in concept.

I like that as well, especially as Amy is a character they haven't really done much with outside her relationship with Kif (and her work with the professor hadn't really been touched upon since the first season).

Latest ep was another good one, I thought the social commentary was fine because it's not unreasonable to think that the debate would rage on in the 31st century and they got a pretty fun story out of it.

Can't really complain about the most recent episode. Everyone switching places was hilarious :applaud:

Keeler. Though I still feel he missed the mark as far as "The Principal and The Pauper" is concerned, both in writing the episode and defending it in the commentary. But his work on Futurama has generally been outstanding and his other Simpsons episodes were strong.

Just got around to watching the latest episode. Another solid one I thought, it's great that they haven't forgotten the recurring characters. Enjoyed the cameos by Groening and Cohen, humour was good all around.

There is one more new episode before they take a break until December

Overall this season has been great, they started off a bit slow but the season got better as time passed

So far so good on the revival. Hope it doesn't run out of steam, like other Fox shows that have been cancelled and later revived that one could mention.
