Huh, only nine of 20 people who voted are real men.

Since everyone loves it I am going to try Chrome. Double post will be made with my thoughts.
Thu Mar 11, 2010 4:30 pm
I hate it. It's so slow and awkward at loading pages. The only thing I liked was that it gives you more screen room but that's about it.
Thu Mar 11, 2010 4:31 pm
Can't believe even two people still use Internet Explorer. Atrocious browser. I'm a Chrome man myself. Love the simple interface.

Use the beta.
It should be the fastest and most accurate browser. (Opera 10.5 still runs into issues of it not being properly identified.)
It's also the fastest growing browser, something like 5000% increase in usage over the last 12 months.
Thu Mar 11, 2010 4:46 pm
That's a lot better. I think I will stick with Chrome, I'm not noticing a huge (or any) speed difference between it and Firefox but it gives you so much more room on the screen.
Thu Mar 11, 2010 5:03 pm
The faster your connection the greater diminishing returns you are going to get from any browser really. (And most only appear to be different speeds due to the way and order they render parts of a webpage.) They're almost all the same speed to me except for anything involving flash or java/scripting.
At least it's not crashing due to .org!
Thu Mar 11, 2010 5:37 pm
It's been good since then, integrates better with DAP than Firefox too. I am converted, if only I could change my vote.

I won't sing its praises, but it doesn't cause me problems to the point where I feel I need to replace it.
Thu Mar 11, 2010 6:06 pm
Should have stuck with IE 6 then. It's the favorite browser of web developers.
Thu Mar 11, 2010 6:17 pm
Crashed about 12 more times since my last post, back on Firefox now.
Thu Mar 11, 2010 6:19 pm
It has never crashed on me except for a bug back in like one of the 3.0 betas that made it crash only on one site: Gmail.
Linux version has never crashed once. Wish I could skin it to match the GNOME theme though.

Oznogrd wrote:This was all pre snow leopard: it could very well be fine on SL.
That explains it. It's great after SL, and it's been in the version 4 final for a while now. I've used it exclusively on every site I went to before my recent switch to Chrome on Mac. The only times where a site doesn't work is when shitty corporate IT "web developers" are restricting it to IE and ignoring the minority, which is obviously changing.
Andrew wrote:I won't sing its praises, but it doesn't cause me problems to the point where I feel I need to replace it.
You might not notice any problems as they're minor: slower rendering speeds, bulkier interface, and limited html5/css3 support. The most evil thing though is to use it, which means to support a browser that web developers despise as it's the least standards-compliant browser, and it really needs to go away. Try the
acid3 standards test and see if it gets a full 100/100 score. As of now, only Safari, Chrome and Opera gets a full score, and you'll see that historically
Microsoft has been screwing over web developers for years.

I think you've crossed the line

Was it a specific website that kept crashing on you? I use Chrome all day at work and I've had a tab crash on me only twice in almost a year.

At first it was just the NLSC but after a while it was basically everything. Even Google

With regard to my first post in this thread, only a mouse click away from installing Chrome but one thought came to my mind - browser security. I'm a bit hesitant with it being 'beta'. Any info regarding the security of Chrome?

Who says I look at your Facebook page? I only save any available pics of you that I can get my hands on, print it, cut out the eyes, and put it in my altar.

Security is top-notch (probably the best out of all browsers) as the browser automatically updates to the most recent builds. The only reason it's called "beta" is that it's in continuous development for features and such, but doesn't mean it's lacking performance or security.

Firefox all the way, but sometimes loading pics crash halfway and don't open completely. I have to press F5 a couple of times so I use Chrome when that happens.

I see your point. IE8 certainly does fail miserably in that regard.

I have no browser.
By using it, you're downloading viruses. No, thanks.

If you were smart you'd understand my post. Stereotypes... Hah, nice.
Typical American citizen doesn't know where is Spain, Germany or France in Europe. I can start thinking that same situation is in Canada.
Your policemen have killed a man from Poland in Vancouver by stun gun, don't remember? Your country is full of criminals.
