Spyware/Anti Virus Software - Which do you use?

I didn't install any Anti-Virus on my PC. I surf the internet maybe 5-6 hours a day, and installed 15 heavily graphic games on it since my Dad bought me some serious specs. So far, I haven't got any serious problems (10 months now) and I think I still don't have any serious virus either. So should I install an Anti-Virus if this is my case?

But I read from the previous post that installing an AV makes downloading, buffering and loading and the likes slower. True?

not necessarily. it depends on the program. Norton is a system hog! i use something called adblockplus it cuts out the ads and you will see a noticeable improvement.

I am gonna say Anti Virus software is a must these days. If you do online banking or make purchases using Visa or others, it even more becomes a neccessity.

Still loving ESET, it's lightweight and updates quite fast during the day. I haven't had any issues with it.

Norton is spyware/virus in itself.

I've heard that Norton 360 is an improvement but I'm not convinced, AVG Free still does the trick for me. I've had no issues with it and the price still can't be beaten, until such time as there's someone willing to pay me to use their product.

Huh, I do that and more, and haven't had a virus in so long I can't remember the last time I did.

Not being stupid is the best spyware/anti-virus protection still. And it's free too!
