btw what is your display name for the social network?

I'm just about to create an account though.

But I'll definitely go for it. I'm after the DLC's.
I didn't play all origin stories and really stuck with the noble warrior class since it's the toughest to beat IMO (have to go melee all the time).
That screenshot above is just after the first town Lothering, and onto the second town that's part of the main plot Redcliffe. My younger brother (the one who toasted the videocard by playing Fallout 3 all the time

) is way ahead of both of us combined. Seen his party fight bosses, and the difficulty really reminds me of Baldur's Gate.

I just created human rogue beatuful woman character. I will post screenshots later so you can drool all over your monitor.
EDIT: Hey. In which folder can you find screenshots you've taken? Been trying to locate screenshot files but been failing.

Returned the game. I love stores that give back money.
Thu Nov 12, 2009 5:28 am
so i remade my archer char again and am now gonna go with it though the game. going ranger for sure and still up in the air about the second spec, probably bard though. i am now a daelish elf also so i feel the need to be rude to humans lol

I'd really like to play this game given Bioware's storytelling skills, but I really can't get into that kind of combat style. That's what kept me away from The Witcher and other similar games. For me, it has to be either FPS-style like Fallout 3/Oblivion, or in 3rd person like Mass Effect, but that one just looks too boring to me...

It's in the Documents folder, inside the BioWare/Dragon Age/Screenshots/User (or Story) directory.

I somehow agree with that. BioWare RPG games like KoTOR and Mass Effect has changed the combat system. But when they shifted back to this kind of combat for Dragon Age, I already drooled over the game. I love the annoying difficulty.

Noticed that elves are being bullied by humans in the game.

Yes, please do.

Dang... It's so hard to time the screenshot since there is 1 or 2 second lag after pressing the button.

Anyways, I really am enjoying this game. Any RPG game fans will enjoy this for sure. Last RPG I played was last remnant and it was bit let down, but this one is quite enjoyable. But gameplay is bit more linear than I first thought.

Last Remnant has high system requirements. Plus the combat system, is still Final Fantasy like.

Here is my character on the left. I currently got 2 more party members, some fat prisoner and some red haird rogue. Trying to figure out whom to play with since you can only have 4 member parties.
Sat Nov 14, 2009 10:21 am
It's Sten and Leliana. You got to balance your party in these kind of games. I carry Leliana along even if she has low constitution stats because I need a rogue. Morrigan should always be in the party even if she disapproves in your decisions.
Sat Nov 14, 2009 11:32 am
point taken. since i am a rogue, i'm playing with morrigan, alistair and sten. i like the dog as it holds high loyalty toward me though.

this game sure is time consuming with all the dialogues and deep storyline. i've played couple hours today and haven't got too far.
Sat Nov 14, 2009 3:30 pm
Are you playing on PC? You can press ESC during dialogues to skip lines.
Sat Nov 14, 2009 11:23 pm
hey Lean, have you kissed Morrigan already?

i forgot to take a screenshot.
Man, the difficulty of this game really annoys me. any tips for me here guys?

Not yet, since I got back to work I haven't progressed. Plus my character's influence towards Morrigan went back to 0 since I decided to help the folks of Lothering.

As far as combat is concerned, you should really come up with a strategy before attacking. There was a time that I activated my character's Shield Wall for more defense, but less offense since the Shield Wall talent ate like a quarter of my talent bar.
If you have Leliana and Morrigan in the party, set them to ranged attacks. Use Threaten (if you have a tank character) to drive them off the ladies and set the hostiles towards you, which is advantageous since a warrior class has tougher defense and higher Constitution. Have Morrigan cast spells like Mind Blast so that the enemies would be stunned for a while (and that "while" is an awful lot). With Leliana, use talents like Low Blow and Dirty Fighting. If your class is a warrior, do not use the Precise Striking talent until your enemies are just down like two to three left. Use Shield Bash and Shield Pummel too to temporarily stun your opponent.
If you like to bring a war dog with you, let the CPU control him for you. For most of the combat I've already played in my game so far, my dog didn't die, or if unlucky, the dog dies last. Mabaris have skills that when hits an enemy successfully, causes instant death.
Morrigan can create lesser health potions since she already has the first level of the Herbalism skill. You'd just need to stock up on elfroots and flasks.
And buy all the potions you can buy.

When there's one left in the enemy party, I advise to do this: CTRL + A then click your enemy. Works pretty well since the Baldur's Gate days.

If its hard for you then better use a trainer or a cheat
btw i hope i can get my copy so that i can finally this game im planning to use the class mage
Sun Nov 15, 2009 12:15 am
I suggest major use of Morrigan, specially of Cone of Cold. Get some combos, like Force Field + Crushing Prison or Storm of the Century (all three storms).

Kris wrote:If its hard for you then better use a trainer or a cheat
...doing so would just spoil all the challenge.

Better yet, you can set the difficulty settings to Easy.
Anyway...

And seems like Morrigan is looking to the camera as if she's teasing the player.

Finished all the treaties quests, and it took me 50h. This game and its story are just so epic. I haven't seen such an epic story since LoTR or (IMO) Morrowind.

Weak.

What did you guys do on this guy?

Here's one more pic of my character.

Which side did you choose on this mission? I went for what seemed like good guys.
jenz wrote:Man, the difficulty of this game really annoys me. any tips for me here guys?

I'd say, get to know your skills and your party's skills so basically you don't rely on too much of CPU control during the battle. That's the first thing and PAUSE(use pause all the time) as soon as the fight starts and make your moves beforehand for all your parties. I usually concentrate first 1 or 2 moves for killing the strongest enemy so rest of fight goes easier. Besides sometimes, the battle ends as soon as the boss dies. Also carry healing potions on all of your party members as they're share-able. If you are having trouble making enough money, then try picking up everything you find then selling them to the merchants.

Those things are what I did so far in the game. Another basic thing is using the Tab button of course.
Lean, I can't believe that you kissed that witch!!! I'd rather have gone for Leliana. She's catholic and well mannered compared to that never-approving biatch. ROFL...

In real and virtual life, always pick the not bad looking half-naked chick over the hairy or furry ones. Always.

They come in a package, though
Sun Nov 15, 2009 8:50 am
thanks for the tips guys.

i guess i'll just have to make another hero. my stats and skills are all messed up.

i'll also start pausing. i usually just want to finish the enemies as fast as i could. but i've noticed that i'm having much better success while having the hero, alistair, morrigan and winnie in my party.
Sun Nov 15, 2009 11:57 am
zanshadow, Zelvan IS a party member.

I actually chose to spare his life and then Allistair and Morrigan both disapproved.
I got the Templar specialization unlocked as I talked Alistair out of the Influence check. Then what I did on the Redcliffe quest: I chose to side with the Blood Mage's ritual, fuming Alistair, so I lost all the Influence gained.
