I think the first website that I've visited is wwe.com. :D

God damn clutter all over the place now. :x

No kidding. It's been like that for years. I love Yahoo's interface. Google has it knocked down for everything else. I don't get why so many people don't realize that simple, clean = good usability.

I've found a lot of sites go that way once they're acquired by a large network. Worse still is when they lose the content that made them so great in the first place. TVTome lost a certain something when they were acquired by CNET and became TV.com.

It was hotmail for me, the very first thing we did was get an e-mail account ;)

Oh I clearly remembered this:

http://www.google.com

The first website that I visited I believe is Yahoo! HK.

The original website for Bert is Evil was my very first. Second was probably some site called Gore Gallery.

Others are mostly search engines like yahoo, lycos, altavista, and ask jeeves in that order. Got fed up with the way they do their searches and discovered Google while looking for alternatives. Never went back since.

Show No Mercy was one of the first websites I have visited, apart from the old school NLSC and Yahoo too.

i cant remember clearly, but definitely NLSC is among one of them. I came here in 1998 or 99. Gosh, it's been almost 10 years

I remember I had bought a magazine and they were advertising WCW Wrestler's websites.
I wanted to check it out, so I guess that was one of my first trips on the internet.

The first place I was active at though, was a place called JBI World. I was excited about the release of Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth and was looking for information on it.
I came across JBI (Just Bring It) World which was a SmackDown community similar to these forums. (Except for wrestling, not basketball. ;))

wow, I don't even remember the first time I used the internet, let alone what site I visited. It must have been yahoo or something. It is quite amazing, in hindsight, how seamlessly the internet has integrated into everyday life (at least in the first world).

Fri Jul 11, 2008 1:37 am

Agreed. Back in the day, it was pretty much just a novelty for me but since then its grown in importance. Even if I wasn't running the NLSC, I'd still be using it as a research tool and a means of keeping in touch with people. I can go without it but it's something I use every day in some form or another, if I have access.

It's crazy to know that I've browsed on these many years ago:

Really nostalgic. I remember when porn was simply just Pamela Anderson and Jenny McCarthy.

* Note the text in the screenshot that says "IE freezes on certain pages." Heh.

Yahoo! with Netscape Navigator, on an IBM ThinkPad... Ages ago!

Gosh, I clearly remember that interface.
