Good luck Riot. Ive got a mate (actually I think his sisters are in it too) in the NZ Navy and from what he tells me it sounds like a lot of fun.

1. Good luck.

2. I hope you'll see some crazy shit that help you realize how wrong acts of your country and the whole concept of war are.

Absolutely. I hope to see innocent babies blown up on street corners in Iraq because the innocent Muslims who are being overrun by the present day crusaders feel the need to strap a bomb to their little sons chest to make a statement. Also, I'm really looking forward to seeing innocent people being threatened and killed if they are seen with any American. That will make my day.

Damn it! We're so fuckin' evil!

i can half agree with this. i dont think the concept of war is wrong, not at all, infact i believe we had no choice but to go to war after that sept 11th shit. however it has gone on far too long and sept 11th has become a bigger conspiracy than the kennedy assassination

It's funny how one day everyone is supporting America and our quest to oust terrorism from this world and then the next day, once America starts to struggle a little bit in said quest, people abandon it. When the going gets tough the tough get going, right? Apparently, that isn't the saying anymore.

I realize there were no WMDs but that doesn't mean the war wasn't justified. People talk all they want about the finanical reasons as to why we would want to go to war with Iraq but nobody talks about the finanical reasons why France and Russia wouldn't want to go to war with Iraq. They were illegally benefiting from Saddam and his regime which is why they voted against military action in Iraq. They didn't do it because they didn't believe in the evidence or because they thought it would be a bad idea. So blame America for being selfish all you want but the reason why we didn't have the backing of some of the larger U.N. nations is because they were being selfish themselves. That's just how the world works but the way I see it is our selfishness does the people of Iraq GOOD whereas the selfishness of the other nations didn't.

Anyway, I have no problem enlisting in the United States military and having to fight in the War on Terror for this great nation. This is a war of ideals and the extremists over there won't stop until we are all dead so it's our job to make sure they become extinct before we do. Bottom line.

To be honest, I don't think "everyone" supported America with the war at any point. Generally people seemed to be against it, they were just overruled by the fact that the general public doesn't run the various countries involved.

After 9.11, we had the world's support to pretty much do whatever we felt was needed. I'm not just talking about the War in Iraq, I'm talking more broader in the War on Terror. We had a lot of moral support going into the war and 6 years later we have very little now.

Because having 'moral support' didn't mean you have a blessing to bomb the hell out of several countries and start a war (or wars - time will tell) that will go on for years and demand a shitload of innocent lives. That bothered people, because most of them didn't have that in mind.

Huh, no, very much no. People everywhere felt bad and scared, but they were certainly more scared about what the US would do next...and they were right.

lawl. Removing Saddam Hussein and cutting down the Taliban scared you? Bet you hated the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the toppling of Hitler too.

9/11, Bali, Madrid, London, these should have been the final straw for the West. But we still have people who would rather score political points against Bush or America than defend their way of life and crush the plague from the East.

When there's a serial killer loose, or crime is rampart, or old men talk to young kids online, or people smoke or eat fatty foods people scream for something to be done. When someone threatens to destroy the West, drop nukes on neighbors or re-establish a Caliphate they respond "Yeah, well, America/Bush sucks. We should just ignore it."

There was never "moral support" post-9/11. There was barely any support for any grand action post-9/11. The "world" didn't want to go into Afghanistan. The "world" didn't want a revitalization of the Truman Doctrine. The "world" certaintly didn't want to break the cash pipelines and uproot the "global order" in the name of a society they already hate.
