hmmm i wonder if it will still look awesome if i change the resolution on my xbox and change my widescreen HDTV to 4:3

Well, I tried the PC demo to see the sharper graphics and to play it how itshould be played, with a mouse and keyboard. The game started up and I oculdn't see the mouse cursor but I got into the game and it looked like this.

Please sign this petition. 2k might make a patch to support SM2.0(shader model) if it reaches 5000. That way some of us won't have to spend money on a new video card just to play the game.

Did the same thing for me, I didn't realize the game was for SM2.0 only... :oops:

Well, I'm glad I got a 8800GTS ready to come out and play, I'm not sure I would have liked to play this crazy ass game with less that.

i changed my tv to 4:3, same with my xbox 360, and the resolution, and it still looked the same as widescreen. Its not a huge deal really. Plus maybe if widescreen users got to see more of the sides then normal, it would ruin some of the levels.

I haven't read it yet but I'm sure it has some nice tips to optimize Bioshock, juts like all the other game guides from this site.

I found a hack that allows videocards with SM2.0 to run BioShock, and it works pretty well.

You replace the shader file with the one included, then delete any shadercache files, change a line in the default.ini, and that's about it. Only a few textures don't get displayed, along with some that appear white, and some water effects aren't shown, but it still looks good.

Exactly what I think, I don't post that much there, but it's a great source of knowledge anyway, it really got me interested into anything that has to do with a PC. I really improved my overall gaming experience with Oblivion, Dark Messiah,...thanks to his guides.

I just rented the game last week and beat it in about 4 days. A bit short, although to be fair I played it for about 5 hours a day.

Simply an amazing game. The story was great (the plot twist 3/4 into the game :shock:

). The graphics were better, and it was just so addicting. My pick for Game of the Year, and I'm not even an FPS fan. It sure does make Halo 3 look bad.

Yeah im not a FPS guy either and i loved this game. Then halo 3 came and i thought it was really boring. Bioshock > Halo 3, although alot of fanboys will disagree. This is just my opinion.

I agree with that for the single player part of the game. But, there still has yet to be a game that is more enjoyable online for so long as the Halo series has been.

God everyone seems to love this game. I might rent it or download the demo at least (360), cause everyone keeps saying how good it is. Im not a FPS fan either, hence not a Halo fan, but trying it wont hurt. Also what kind of PC Specs do you need, cause i could just download it, but i doubt my pc could handle it, by the sounds of it.

No, absolutely not. If you have an xbox360, get BioShock for it. You would most likely have to upgrade your entire system to play it.

Even though the sm2.0 hack is working for me, I am not inclined to play it like that after seeing it on another computer that has the hardware requirements to run it. It would be a shame, and so I may just get it for the xbox360 rather than upgrade my video card.

Im not a FPS fan either, and i played this game through twice. I didnt even do that with resident evil 4 for the wii. Its a really good game, great story, and all round fun. Plus there are like no levels you dread going back too.
