Oh, so the only reason he agreed to the plea was that everyone else was going to rat on him and he knew he had no chance in court.

Stephon Marbury leaping to his defence. Hmmm, a positive endorsement if ever i've heard one.

Plea Bargain and Pleading Guilty are two different but slightly similar things. In Vick's case, no bargain has been made, he has just admitted to being guilty. A scenario where a pela bargain may have occured is if Vick refused to plead guilty, leading to a trial and when he notices he can't win the case, he would try to offer a plea bargain.

I'm sure that's right.

Pretty much the case here. Vick realises that he has no chance to win the case so it's the smart option to plea guilty, pretend to be remoarseful, and let his lawyers try to convince the judge to give him a shorter sentence.

Marbury: Dog-Fighting Is A Sport

Stephon Marbury commented on the Michael Vick situation to a television station in Albany, New York.

"We don’t say anything about people shooting deers and shooting other animals," said Marbury. "You know what I mean? From what I hear, dog-fighting is a sport. It’s just behind closed doors and I think it’s tough that we build Michael Vick up and then we break him down. I think he’s one of the superb athletes and he’s a good human being. I think he fell into a bad situation."

Somehow, I think Marbury has missed the point.

Comparing shooting a deer to having dogs fight eachother? Yeah, Marbury is an idiot.

Marbury is having a great Summer! All I hear of him is trying to make smartass comments that keep making him sound like more of an idiot.

Oh man wouldn't a Marbury/Isiah defense team be great? They'd charge you all the money in the world only to leave you in debt and in prison. You could be a wonderful, successful person ::cough:: Larry Brown ::cough:: and they'd still manage to put you away for life.

But as far as Vick goes, he'll never play in the NFL again. They said that the NFL rules state that a player can be banned for life for gambling, and that's what Vick did. Also, he can be both tried in the state and federal courts, and since the local district attorney is a politically elected position, it might be in his best interests with the community to try Vick.

Stephon Marbury backs off Michael Vick comments

He still seems to have missed the point slightly but he at least acknowledges that Vick did something wrong.

If Vick comes back to the NFL, he should get a little contract and be a 2nd string HB or 4th string WR.

he might have a chance at coming back, in my opinion. i actually think he may still have a chance of being quarterback, but not with the atlanta falcons.

the only thing i see wrong with Vick's actions is the gambling...and even then, its not that bad.

hopefully, he can come back (for my Lions?) and still be respected. (Y)

i agree about the racism shit going out of hand, but fuck the animal-rights argument in all this

This is another one of those things that can be legalized and regulated, making more money for the country. Dogs fight, and that's the bottom line. Why legalize it? Well, alot of these dog fights are to the death. With legalization, they can create rules deciding when a dog wins or not. Then the officials can push the button on those shock collars, fight over.

Personally, I don't want to see dogs tear each other apart. It's much more entertaining when they are just playing with each other. When we had two pitbulls, they would play, and it was some of the most hilarious shit you would ever see.

My Pits were very human-friendly, but they were also very smart at noticing "vibes." If they thought there was any reason that you could be a bad person, you better stay the fuck out my yard.

That's the same argument I make for decriminalizing drugs. :P

I don't want the government running a dog fighting league however...

This brings up a question:

Who would win in a fight?

I second the Rin Tin Tin vote.

Although Lassie would be able to hold her(?) own. How many time has lassie done super-canine things to save timmy? She's kinda like Ichigo from Bleach. Doesnt look like much, but when it comes down to it... she's a beast.

Way to over-anylyze, Colin.
