The preseason top 25 polls look pretty good, I'm surprised Illinois is so high also Syracuse.
As for the All American teams, they look about right except for one major player... Kevin Durant. Hopefully Archibeque can be All Big- Sky like in real life.
Good Luck and you should farewell in your conference.

Btw just to let you know on March Madness 07 for ps2 I use 10 minute halves and get realistic scores  .

cheers....yep, my team is weak....Taibi is my man it seems....

yep, I was surprised by Illinois & Syracuse, I can't explain that one....

but yeah, Durant is a little under-rated in the game, but hope he plays well this season, although I've got a feeling Texas could be AJ Abrahms team....

Archibeque got Honorable All-Mention in Big Sky I believe....hopefully he will step up, we need him to....hopefully we do well in conference, not a talented conference outside of Rodney Stuckey of Eastern Washington, but yeah, should be interesting....

at the moment, I'm playing 14 minute halves, but I think I will pull it back to 13 minute halves....it won't be as low as 10 minute halves, maybe 12 or 13....

you can't, I imported it from Asia....it's US version....

hammertime23 wrote:I guess according to The X's second post in this thread PS3 games are region free.

correct, I imported a Japanese PS3 (a couple hundred dollars cheaper than here in Oz after adding in shipping costs)....PS3 games are region free....

cheers....hey, I'm in the Big Sky, not the Big Ten, I'm sure I can chalk up a few wins....my goal this season is to have a winning season (over .500), make the Conference Tournament and recruit a good, young player or two....anything more I'd be happy with....let's just say that I'd be very disappointed if I didn't beat last year's 5-24 mark :( I don't feel like being fired from the Northern Colorado Bears

Very nice so far.

To tell the truth. I'm fairly new to college sports,so I don't really know the divisions and all,but hopefully this will help me learn some things about it .

Also how are those programs holding up that I mentioned.Any good to you ?

Also hopefully those programs will help you out. I personally do use them myself when I get tired of Photoshop.

Just a teaser....

Image
Let's hope Watson can improve on the team's dismal 18% attendance record. I don't know if you can call 12 students a "Student Spirit Section" though.

Image
Much like the real life Fighting Irish that he was a player-coach on, Coach Watson is running a Motion offence, with the team's primary defence being a 1-3-1 zone, and will be backed up by the 2-3 zone and the 3-2 zone. Watson is looking to add intelligent recruits with basketball skill.

Sorry about quality of pics guys. Got a pretty crappy digital camera & need to play around with it to get better shots. First game recap in next couple of days I'd say.

18% attendance! That is terrible! Just so everyone knows, 18% of 4500 is 810 people lol.

The quality of the first picture was okay, but I could hardly read the second one. Atleast you are making an effort to put pics in there though (Y)

One thing though, try to make the room you have your TV in as bright as possible (turn on the lights and all ) so your pics wont be blurred to much .

COACH WATSON GETS HIS FIRST TASTE OF THE RECRUITING TRAIL

Bears’ coach Andrew Watson will be in for a huge shock if he expects to land big recruits and beat out bigger schools in the area. Word is that Watson has targeted Colorado’s Mr. Basketball, SF Kalem Fernandez, and is said to be heavily recruiting him against bigger schools in the area. Fernandez helped lead his high school to the state championship game when they fell on a last second shot. Whilst Fernandez isn’t an All-American calibre player, he is rated #11 at his position and #78 overall in the country and if Watson was successful in getting a commitment from this local 4-star recruit, then it would be a good start to change the face of this small program and allow it to compete with mid-major schools in the area for the state’s top talent. It should be interesting to see what this young buck Watson has up his sleeve, as he needs to pull more than a rabbit out of his hat to pull this Houdini act off.

COACH WATSON LEADS BEARS TO UPSET OVER BALL STATE IN SEASON OPENER

The Northern Colorado Bears (0-0) travelled to Munchie, Indiana to play the Ball State Cardinals (0-0) in what was both team's season opener. Coach Watson was looking at getting the team's season off to a flyer and that he did.

The Bears opened the game playing a tenacious 1-3-1 zone defence, which was highlighted by them playing senior SF Dwayne Birden out top. The Cardinals struggled to adjust early as the Bears shocked the home crowd by running out to a 22-10 lead more than midway through the first half.

Image

The Bears carried a 34-22 lead into the half-time break and confidence was high. However, the second half was a tenacious battle as Ball State kept on coming and coming at the Bears, as the Bears used its motion defence to create open jumpers and keep Ball State at bay. With the pro-Cardinals' crowd at the Worthern Arena arching up and getting behind their home team, Ball State made one last run and pulled the game within 1 point late, however a steal by Birden and a breakaway slam; a defensive stop at the other end; and a baseline dagger 3 pointer by junior SG Sean Taibi extended the Bears' lead to 6 points. The Bears managed to make enough free throws to keep Ball State at bay and record a very good victory, 70-65, on the road in their season opener to move to 1-0.

Image
Senior forward Dwayne Birden was huge on his way to 16pts, 8rebs & a career high 7blks

Bears' coach Watson was very happy with the win, saying that he couldn't imagine a better way to start the season and couldn't have asked for more from the team as they didn't lay over and die when the Cardinals, led by senior SG Skip Mills, kept on coming at them.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

SF- Dwayne Birden (UNC Bears) - 16pts, 8rebs, 7blks
SG- Skip Mills (Ball State) - 24pts
SG- Sean Taibi (UNC Bears) - 18pts (4/8 3pt) [Pontiac Game Changing Performance]
C- Kirk Archibeque (UNC Bears) - 9pts, 8rebs, 6blks
SF- Anthony Newell (Ball State) - 7pts, 11rebs, 2stls

Next game: at Purdue (0-0)
