That .adf file could either be a:
Actual Drawing File
Adapter Description File
Admin Config File
Amiga Disk File
it should be one of those...
but im no too sure...
Thu Mar 29, 2007 4:02 pm
lol, Amiga disk file, that has to be it!
Pretty sure it's another type of dbf file. Just like xbox and ps2 rosters are a bit different than PC's for NBA Live. It would need to be reverse engineered unless someone stumbles upon an editor that can open and save it.

I'm curious. if I remember right, that might be the
exact same cyberface for Shareef from Live 98.

I'm getting the goosebumps here. Some old school graphics porting.
Thu Mar 29, 2007 7:28 pm
dammit i wish i still had my copy of live 98. had to be my favorite PC live ever.
that's probably because i got 2000 on PS1 and not PC.
can u post more cyberfaces, preferably of people who would look the same since Live 98?

mkay-
if annything, they'd be the same cyberfaces from Live 04 (which I don't think they are)

Live 03 with a bigger resolution, 100% sure, empirical knowledge.
Fri Mar 30, 2007 6:15 am
Mazz, if possilbe would you put up single site/link where all the cracked cyberfaces, legends, jerseys, etc. can be viewed?
I'm really interested.

Wow, in one thread Jugs gets his post edited for swearing by mods, but an illegal version of nba street volume 2 is openly endorsed by another mod in a different thread. Nice consistancy!
Fri Mar 30, 2007 9:31 am
well I recognize the hair on Reef & Dirk and can say without a doubt that the hair is taken straight from NBA Live 98. The Finley looks pretty similar. the shaq face has been updated and the kobe hair has been fixed (becuase he had short hair in 98)
Fri Mar 30, 2007 10:34 am
wasn't this site home to Xbox mods back in the day?

It's not illegal, I legally own it, and I backed it up on my XBox hard drive.
It's not an illegal version.
It's just as illegal as NBA Live mods are.

Right, and Jugs
never got his post edited

Cracking the graphics files and modding NBA Street Vol. 2 isn't illegal, as long as Mazz does it without charge. Its basically the same thing as patching Live.
As for Jugs filter control..

Backup/ copying, its the same thing. Check your user agreement. It says no unauthorised copying, and I highly doubt you were given authorisation to copy the game.

ok, whatever, who cares.
It's pretty much impossible to mod it anyway.
brb, fbi.

Wow you're heaps funny

If you own the game, and the console, and you aren't selling off your original copy of the game, then there is nothing illegal about what we are doing.
Sun Apr 01, 2007 12:30 pm
It's definitely not legal to make backup copies of console games.
EDIT: Or PC games.

why should there be a difference between console and PC games? Am I wrong in thinking that if I pay $200 for a PS2 and $60 for Street v2 I should be allowed to do whatever I want with it? I mean yes if I sold off the original disc and kept all my modified copies there is something wrong with that. But I own that disc, I have ownership of it. I can choose to sell it to EB or to another person, I can choose to lend it to a friend, and I can choose to throw it against the wall if I want to. So why can't I choose to not use my original copy and use a backup I made of it instead?

Actually, as much as it may not make "sense", it's not allowed. Legally speaking that is.
If we're going to be talking about how much "sense" something makes, I could argue that I find it "sensible" to shoot someone that has commited a crime. Does it make sense? To me it does. Is it allowed? Legally speaking, no.
Copying a game is not allowed legally. You buy the game and you're supposed to play the game, from the disc. That's the point of buying it according to the makers.
In the US, any copying of something that is copyrighted for which you do not have written consent to copy, is punishable. In a court of law (in the States), all that needs to be proven is "actus reus". What's that you say? That means all that needs to be proven is that you copied said copyrighted product. What you intend to do with that product doesn't really matter. You already broke copyright laws by making a copy of it. Be it for personal use, or commercial.
So yeah, it might not make sense to you, but that's the way the law works. You don't have to understand it, just abide by it.
Sun Apr 01, 2007 1:31 pm
I'm 99% sure it is not in breach of Australian Copyright law, as long as you copy the game to have a 'back-up' of it, and you dont sell or exchange to others. The Copyright would be breached if you distributed the game beyond your present user agreement, consequently vitiating your ownership rights and breaching the developers Copyright.
So as far as I'm concerned it's all above board.
Sun Apr 01, 2007 1:46 pm
Look up US Copyright laws, copying is already breaking the law.
The Netherlands are similiar to Australia, you can copy, just don't distribute it for royalties. (Personal use only.)
US Copyright is different though, you copy it and you're wrong already. Sorry.
Sun Apr 01, 2007 1:50 pm
yea thats petty, but if it is the law then it is the law.
Thanks for clearing that up Jackal.
Sun Apr 01, 2007 2:25 pm
oh, EA isnt going to get the FBI or local authorities on me for backing up a 3 year old game, and seeing if I could modify it in any way.
Also, It seems impossible to mod, so whatever.
This topic should be closed, seeing as no real progress is being made
