damn. I kinda saw this one coming, especially with the departure of Matthew.
I hate to see you go, but I completely understand why you are leaving. I find myself browsing the forum but hesitating to post...
anyways good luck dude.

and here's one for the road: :surrender:

Yohance & Andreas, don't you think about it.

There's a lot of Filipinos that don't like him for some reason, so with his retirement, his thread title is a satire for celebrating Pinoys.

Tales wrote:Hey Jae, I wish you the best in life, though I think you'll come back at the near future. Everyone does.

We've had our share of problems in the past, but keep in mind that I always thought of you as one of the originals, if you know what I mean. And that's enough for me.

Woah, I was like "Where the F did you come from?" I had to go back and check the thread date to make sure nobody bumped it up.

Looks like someone's lining up for the mod-job already.

And finally, Adios Jae. We never got along real well but it was always good to see you attack other members instead of myself. It was like "Ahahahaha Jae toasted that n00b...er..uhm...Jae's a faggot." :) When I read the title of this thread I thought EA stopped shipping to the Philipines or basketball was banned or something.

Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:55 am

Wow. See you on MSN I guess.. if you ever reply to my MSN-illiteratespasticness.

You're fun to talk to and shit on MSN and stuff so thanks for the memories.

Needless to say I'm really sorry to see this happen, I know it's something you've been thinking of lately and that really is unfortunate. I also know you've made your decision and will be sticking with it but all the same if you do change your mind, all you need to do is ask. Thanks for everything you've done since your return a couple of years back.

Indy wrote:Yep, I figured this was coming. An NLSC without Jae, Jackal and Matthew isn't really one I have any interest posting at.

I don't mean to single you out here or attack you Indy because you're not the only one expressing such sentiments or declaring that the Forum has officially gone down the drain or in decline or not what it used to be and I can't blame you for feeling that way. But at the same time I must confess it does bother me since a lot of people complain about the state of the forums but don't seem keen to do anything about it. The Forum is what we make it, after all.

Don't get me wrong, I will always appreciate the support and presence of dedicated and intelligent posters such as yourself and I'd be sorry to see more people leave (yourself included) but in all honesty that kind of sentiment does feel like a slap in the face considering the amount of time and effort I put into the NLSC.

Anyway, it sucks that Jae's leaving, I know he'll be sorely missed just as Matthew will be (well, is already). But my proposal to the community at large is this: if you've got any ideas on how we can improve things, by all means talk to me about it. We can either throw up our hands and say this place has gone to the dogs or we can actually try and do something about it. It's your call.

Cable wrote:I hope Andrew doesn't leave anytime soon too. You haven't been thinking about it, have you Andy?

Mad as it may seem, I'm not leaving.

Thu Oct 26, 2006 12:09 pm

Sad to see you go Jae. Didn't really talk with you much but have always had a lot of respect for your efforts here. Best of luck in the future, and I guess I might see you over at the Realgm forums in the future keeping tabs on Bogut and the Bucks!

Thu Oct 26, 2006 12:38 pm

Yikes, everyone is leaving. Matthew, Jackal and now Jae.
I didn't really expect that coming as most ppl said up there.
I appreciate what you done for this forum and your a person I respect.
Good luck in your life and take it easy.

:chug: " Cheers "

I havent been here long and i must've missed the bigger issues that have been causing the mass exodus, but i am sad to see some of the most intriguing people on this forum begin to leave. Andrew was right though. This is what we make it. I am trying to assimilate and be as considerate and respectful to everyone as possible (god knows its hard sometimes) because i know its not easy to get into a community. But for what its worth to you guys down here (because the idiots up in the bug forums right now have no idea whats going on), i appreciate the respect i've been given and its a shame that more people cant understand this simple fact of life...if you want respect to be respected. Im not saying jae or matthew or anyone else leaving wasnt respected, they all were, thats why i'm so sad to see them go, they kept most of this board sane. Sure i make a few outlandish claims (like paul pierce's decline right flite? ) but i think this is one of the best forums i've been to in a very long time and i think if we truly want to, we can bring it back to whatever "glory days" yall are referring too that occurred before my time. So jae, matthew, jackal, and indy, sad to see yall go...and i'm going to quit rambling....Andrew and all the other mods:thanks for being insane enough to handle this job.

I apologize if what I said seemed like anything resembling an attack at you, because that's not at all what I meant. I appreciate all of the hard work you put in to the forum, and you do a great job. This place would be in much worse shape if it wasn't for you.

I don't even think the forum is in as terrible shape as a lot of other people, all I'm saying here is that with the guys who are leaving or have left gone, I just don't feel the conversations will have as much substance. I have no specific plans to leave any time soon I'm just a little disappointed in the departures of the good posters.

You do a great job here Andrew, and if I do leave I will always look fondly on the "better days" and I will always respect the job you do.

Thu Oct 26, 2006 3:25 pm

I'd say put Jackal back as a mod (or as a new one, can't remember, but I think at one time he was a mod) and everything will be solved. Idiots will be gone, Jae and Matthew will gladly comeback with Jackal helping on the idiot patrol.

Thu Oct 26, 2006 3:26 pm

I'll do my best to fill the void, Jae. :(

It's cool, Indy. :) It's just that it's a frustrating situation for me because there's a point where things are beyond my control since ultimately it comes down to what everyone posts that determines the topics and quality of discussions in the Forum, so while I'd like to maintain a standard throughout the boards (as I'm sure you and our other top posters would as well) it's difficult to achieve as there's not much I can do beyond my own posts and dealing with people who step out of line.

I do understand what you're saying and I agree, the Forum is a much better place with those guys around and I'm as sorry as everyone else to see them leave. My previous post did come out a bit more snarling than I intended and by quoting your post specifically it probably did come off as a direct response to what you were saying, for which I apologise.

We may be going through a bit of a rough patch right now with everything that's happened but we've had our problems before and we've come through them because people have put in the effort, we've evolved and made changes for the better and life has gone on. I know a lot of people feel the outlook is rather bleak at the moment but I for one feel changes can be made and are worth making, if only because I've put too much time and effort into the site and Forum to let things fizzle out. ;)

Thu Oct 26, 2006 5:35 pm

As time goes by we all change and our priorities are different. The problem is that there aren't enough older/mature members on this forum, or the few that remain stick to select topics and don't feel the urge to be very active.

Thu Oct 26, 2006 6:14 pm

I think in 3-4 months everything will be alot better, considering the crackheads (nocd that is) and retards would have given up trying, although it will happen all over again when 08 is out, then 09, and so on. Its something that happens every year, but with the addition of NBA Live 07 being absolutely shit (out of the box, anyways), the "revolt" plus numerous other problems and fallouts that things have become harder to bear for those guys that have to do the cleaning up afterwards.

QBaller, Ty-Land, bigh0rt and cyanide are all great guys and even though the MJ and Scottie of the NLSC (Andrew, you are like the Wilt Chamberlain + Bill Russell  ) have retired, we still have the Kevin Garnett's (Ty-Land: Does everything well, but isn't here often enough to get the due respect), the Kobe Bryant's (cyanide: Super poster, and keeps getting better), the Tim Duncan's (QBaller: been around a long time, but people seemed to have forgot about him lately) and finally the LeBron James's (bigh0rt: Quick start and awesome all round, keeps getting better and better after a short time at the NLSC, already has big acheivements) to look forward to.

Good Luck guys (Y)

Thu Oct 26, 2006 6:53 pm

wow.. I'm guessing jugs is on suicide watch now.

lol @ the r.i.p... there is a world outside of the forum...

Take it easy mate (Y) Jae and Matthew two of the best ever posters. (Y)

Thu Oct 26, 2006 7:43 pm

Sad to hear. But then again, I haven't really cared much about the NLSC either. No offense to the people who do. Recently, I haven't been reading most of the threads despite being here regularly. Anyway, back on topic. You were one of the more enjoyable people here and it's sad to here you're leaving.

Thu Oct 26, 2006 8:16 pm

Wow. I never thought it would come to this. I wish you all the best Jae and hope to see you around in the future.

Not to be a dick but this really is shit. Look at everything Jae's done and think about who'll make the same kind of impact he had on everyone. Is this place going to get better or worse?
Sure there will always be people leaving but when they're people as significant as Jae and Matthew who hold the forum together who knows what will happen.

I agree with Riot, You were the best poster on the forums and your views were respected by all. Even from the people that disliked you. I think everyone needs a break and you deserve one.

You really do mean something to this forum and I'm glad to have known you on the net. Your probably one of the most genuine, no bullshit guys I know. I always enjoyed reading your views, even when I disagreed or didn't understand (I'm dumb like that)
Hope you all the best and if you see me at maccas, i'll buy you a drink you lanky bitch. (b)

Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:30 pm

Shit.
I suppose not everyone will agree with me, but this is a sad day for the NLSC.
Very sorry to see you go man, t'was a pleasure talking Football Manager and 2k with you. Nothing but respect for everything you've done on here in my short time. I appreciate the shoutout, especially from someone i respect alot on these forums.

Best of wishes, ill hit you up for some FM online one day, when i get a faster internet speed!

Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:33 pm

it's sad to see him go, but the writing had been on a wall for a while now....you could see it in Jae's post, his general temperment & the actual amount he was posting....

I don't think this is the death of anything....sure Jae was a great, actually a superb NLSC member, but everyone is replaceable, just like IRL in your job....who's to say that there isn't a 13 or 14 year old around who will end up having the impact that Jae has had....

all I'm saying is, if you like the place, & I do, then keep on coming back....with the good selection of mods stepping in, I'm not at all worried....I would only be worried if Andrew stepped away, now that would be something to be worried about....

good luck to Jae in his future endeavours....if he is reading this, Jae, believe in yourself, you're a smart guy, you're a good guy with a good heart & good things will happen for you in your future....

:applaud:

Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:38 pm

Wow..the nlsc has lost it's iron fist. Sad to see you go even though i had my rough times with you and matt many years ago. The forum should get back into shape though..things were rough at first when andrew took over and then it recovered nicely. The new guys around here will grow into their personalities and become great helps. I might be leaving temporarily again myself in a few months..but that isn't new. :P

Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:41 pm

What? Jae leaving? Looks like time, you have the right reasons... :o Good luck, let's all leave NLSC now that Jae's gone. Bye!

Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:43 pm

How bout you alone leave instead?
