Great milestone thread, a really nice idea and refreshing change (y)

Thanks for the comparision, though I hardly know much about John Havlicek except that he's a white guy that can shoot

Congrats on your 5000th, and your recent engagement! You are probably the most impartial member on this forum, and one of the better posters. Cheers, mate :chug:

Mon Oct 02, 2006 12:20 pm

Congrats, X, still remember that great Bobcats dynasty. Lol, I still remember Guy "That Guy" Dumars on your squad in that dynasty working with Okafor.

Once again, congrats man (Y) .

I'm really enjoying these new breed of milestone thread so first of all great work on that, X. A very enjoyable read with some very entertaining comparisons. Kudos. (Y) Second, congrats on reaching 5000. In this day and age post counts tend to be overrated but in your case it represents great contributions to the Forum for almost a couple of years now. It's great having you around, I hope you'll be able to stick around for a while yet. Third, thanks for the comparison and kind words. It's always both flattering and humbling to be complimented for the work I do with the NLSC so I really appreciate it. :)

Congrats again, and keep up the great work with the Dynasty/Association threads. (Y)

Good work mate. (Y)

lol goota love how you put video game related matters (such as buying a x360) on the same relivence as gettign engaged.

congrats on 5000, but this thread should be a mark of respect to you, not the other idiots (myself definately included) that will be here no matter what. So, everyone that recieved a comparison, can you try to think of one post, or conversation with the x thats a good memory?

Mon Oct 02, 2006 9:31 pm

I remember the thread about his car, I remember the thread in which he posted pictures of himself with his friends having beer, but I can't remember one on one interaction, I don't think I've ever had that.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 10:40 pm

Congrats X, you've always been one of my favorites here.

Although I'm not sure where you got the Reggie Miller comparison from. I don't think me and that guy have anything in common.

Tue Oct 03, 2006 6:45 am

What the hell, you got 5K  You've been a good NLSC poster overall and your dynasties have always been in depth. Thanks for the shoutout and Congrats

I forgot to put down the purchase of a widescreen lcd tv  but yeah, obviously they don't compare, I'll just throwing a diverse range of a selection of some of the more major & minor events in my life....

Jackal wrote:I can't remember one on one interaction, I don't think I've ever had that.

that is true & is probably true for majority of members as I'm not a huge fan of msn....

Indy wrote:I'm not sure where you got the Reggie Miller comparison from. I don't think me and that guy have anything in common

by the time I got to your one, I was growing tired of writing, so I took the easy path....I probably don't know you at all outside what I've read, so these things are always hard to do....some comparisons are comparisons, some are because you like the guy & some are because I relate you to that team or player....no rocket science involved....

who the heck is tony huml?!? :? & is that why you took a bite at me once or twice for no apparent reason?!?

anyway, didn't have time to appreciate to all posts but yeah, I should probably get back to it....

Congrats X! One of the small few posters here that I enjoy reading their points of view. Hope the 360 is going along nicely for you, and thanks for the advice when we were purchasing them around the same time.

Congrats on being engaged as well mate. Look forward to your next dynasty or association. Who are you thinking of doing this time round?

yep, 360's going fine, when I get the chance to play....at the moment I got Saints Row, NBA 2k6 (soon to be traded in) & Lego Star Wars 2: Original Trilogy (I've play this game with my fiance & my 6 year old nephew & is enjoyable as single player, which says a lot)....pre-orders on the way are nba 2k7, tony hawk project 8, gears of war....probably gonna get pes6 (unless fifa 07 is a surprise) & cod3 is a must....all these games will keep me rocking for ages....I just wished College Hoops 2k7 was region free & I could get that too....

as for next association, if it happens, then I'm think Adam Morrison & the Bobcats....

cheers for kind words  seems like we both were suckered in by Matthew's 2k7 Lakers' association....by the sounds of it, it was a great choice by both of us :P

Very true about being suckered in by Matthews association. The 'wow' factor on that was a major factor in deciding to get the 360.

I've got 2k7, project 8, cod3 and pes6 (and possibly lego star wars) on my 'to buy in the near future list'. Just waiting to get my uni exams out of the way so I can earn some money to feed my 'addiction'. Like you, I wish College Hoops was region free. I have a friend that's over here for a semester that is a PG on a division 2 team. Top bloke who's really getting me into the college basketball scene. Now I just got to pick a college to follow.

What do you think of Saints Row? I'm really into it, just don't have the time to get to involved. With study, girlfriend and casual work gaming time is limited, but hopefully the summer break will fix that and give me some time. Do you have xbox live at all?

Thu Oct 05, 2006 2:24 am

congrats!...and very creative post :o

I was only joking, that was the obvious comparison to make.

if you've got Foxtel, they show plenty of college hoops games, like 2-3 per week & a lot during March Madness....I follow the Cinderellas....I'm fan of the Zags, probably due to the fact they use to be a Cinderella....I really need to get myself a fav team, I just seem to follow the teams with Aussie & Kiwi players on them (use to be Wisconsin with Kirk Penney & UNLV with Mark Dickel)....

I really like Saints Row....GPS on map is awesome....I'd give the game a 9 out of 10 overall....considering it's not normally my type of game, but I like it, says a lot about it....I'm about 15% through the game at the moment....

as for xbox live, I don't have it at the moment because I'm only on dial up at the moment....was looking at going to broadband for xbox live but I'm not sure, due to the cost....at the moment I pay $18 per month dial up, unlimited hours, downloads etc....I've heard you need unlimited downloads for xbox live as one online game can mean you're taking on like 500MB....is this true?!? Telstra was trying to get me to sign up on a 2 year plan, $33 per month for first 12 months, then $65 per month for next 12 months....I'd pay $33-35 per month, but I don't like prospect of $65 per month just so I can play an online game & download the occasional demo....

any Aussie XBox360 Live users able to elaborate on this?!? or know of any good deals going on good broadband coverage?!?

cheers in advance....
