Samuel L Jackson was just on the Daily Show tonight. You guys have to catch the interview, it was awesome. It only makes me more excited to see the movie.

What's wrong with liking both? What's wrong with finding humor in the unintentional?
See, there's movies that try to be funny, and there's movies that fail so miserably at being serious, that you can't help but laugh. See 80s action movies featuring Sly Stallone and Chuck Norris for examples. Snakes on a Plane is one of these movies.
Jesus, have a sense of humor.

I can't believe how seriously so many people are taking this movie. That's so funny to me.

Yes, but the 80's action movies are funny in retrospect and weren't meant to be. The fact that a movie is trying to do it now, purposely, is pretty sad, and speaks volumes about American culture and how stupid of a society a great many of us have truly become. I love comedy, but if you think this is comedy, then we may be in trouble here...

What's unintentional about it though? It all seems very intentional...

Originally, SoaPs used to be called
Pacific Air 121. The whole plot line, the basic premise of the movie is legitimate. It was written to be a Hollywood blockbuster. This is where the unintentional humor comes in. Because it's so outrageous. There's been numerous movies about deadly snakes, and there's been numerous movies held on planes where shit goes wrong, but who in there right mind would combine the two?
Then you have Samuel L. Jackson, who's been a parody of himself for the past few years. He's so easy to humorously imitate, that if you combine him with a thriller about snakes on a plane, you're bound to find images like
THIS. And c'mon, how can you not find this funny? In fact, how can you ridicule someone who does?
The only difference between this and every other unintentionally funny movie is that the studio and the makers behind SoaP bought into it all. After making the movie, they grasped it's terribleness. By doing that, they've made it a hit movie.

Thus making it intentional. In all seriousness, that pic isn't funny in the slightest IMO. It must definitely be an American thing, though I'm curious to see how foreigners react to it.

I didn't find the pic funny too (ignoring the Pulp Fiction reference) because of the obvious: there's a movie called Snakes on a Plane, and Samuel L Jackson stars in it
I fail to see what's so funny about it... however, I find the parody pictures to Snakes on a Plane by substitution (penguins in a shopping cart) hilarious.

Yeah they are awesome, if the movie was 2 hours of those I'd probably watch it.

Everyone on imdb seem to think this movie rules.
I had an orgasm when I watched this movie, it was that good.
I simply do not want to watch another movie right away because I know it will never be as crazy as Snakes on a Plane.
This was the greatest movie I have ever seen. It contained all elements of coolness and awesomeness that presaged it on the internet.
Actually, I haven't noticed one bad review. The worst grade was '8 out of 10'. So, does this mean the world is coming to an end? I think this is just a very, very good B film. You know, something like They Live!, if anyone watched it.

IMDB is the home of failed actors/writers/directors and computer nerds who want a MySpace but don't have enough friends to fill it. I'm not surprised they had that reaction.

I'm still skeptical at how this movie could be so good. In fact, how this movie could be even good if it
never recieved hype. It's an intentionally bad, cheesy movie, and if it never recieved any hype, it would be unknown and be rated as a shitty movie by all reviewers. I'm willing to bet if a SoaP fanboy watched it, they'd worship it as a glorious movie as opposed to a guy who never even heard about it, watched it, and would hail it as one of the all time worst.
I'm exposed to the hype, but I'm not convinced that this movie deserves to be a good movie based on hype and the movie was "intentionally made to be so bad that it's good." I'm probably gonna watch it eventually, but I'm going to remain objective.

It was just a funny as hell movie. That's all there is to it.
Jae, just suck it up and go see it, you'll enjoy yourself. Seriously.

Funny in what way? In that it was so stupid and unrealistic in the sense that nothing of the nature could ever happen, but it tried to play it off that it could, but did so poorly? That seems to be what all the huff is about... I just can't view that as being 'funny' 'Stupid' is the word that comes to mind...
Then again, thre's a cult of Napoleon Dynomite fanatics, too. Maybe we're in a post-Napoleon Dynomite era here, where the more pointless, thoughtless, and stupid something is, the more people will like it, as long as you bill it as such and hype it on the internet...

Did you see the movie?

I HATED that movie.
I don't give a fuck what the internet says, at home I don't even own a computer. When I go back to school in three days, I will have no idea what the internet is telling me to see. All I know is that there was a movie about snakes taking over a plane and Samuel Jackson was in it. That sounds pretty damn funny to me, so I went to see it.
I had a good time, and there were some funny ass parts. I don't care if they did it on purpose or not. Haven't you ever watched a Jason movie and laughed? Haven't you ever watched ANY bad b-horror movie and laughed?
People need to stop making this movie into such a big deal.
