Both teams came in with a win from their previous match, but it was the Jets who first won the toss and elected to kick.
Kelly Campbell made a great runback to the 35.
After Michael Bennett had ran for a first down, Daunte Culpepper continued precise passing from last match to throw a wonderful pass to Nate Burleson for a 48 yard touchdown.
Edinger converterd the kick and the Vikings were up 7-0.
When the Jets got posession Pennington was sacked by Kenechi Udeze for a 5 yard loss making it 3rd and 12, but the next play Pennington threw a bullet pass to Coles for an amazing 80 yard touchdown.
Nugent comfortably convertered and it was 7 a piece.
On the next drive Michael Bennett showed what he was worth and ran to the endzone for an impressive 64 yard touchdown. The Viking's opted to go for the 2 points and Bennett ran it in to make the score 15-7.
Nothing much else happend until the final 2 minutes where on 4th down, the Vikings took a risk and were rewarded by none other than Michael Bennett who ran 46 yards for the touchdown.
Near the end of the quater Pennington found an unmarked Carter who ran it home for a comfortable touchdown.

After a very intense first quater, the score was 22-14.

The Jets quickly found momentum and took an early field goal attempt which was succesful giving them an extra 3 points and closed down the Vikings lead.
After a very good kick return from Kelly Campbell making it to half way, Daunte Culpepper threw a pass to Nate Burleson once again and somehow he caught the ball and scored the touchdown with 2 players marking him. This gave the Vikings a lead of 12 points with the score at 29-17.
Chavous showed what his about after hitting Curtis Martin making his helmet fly off and then, the very next play, he intercepted a pass to give the Vikings possession of the ball with around 2:00 to play until the end of the half.
On the first play after Chavous' interception, Michael Bennett once again done another longe range touchdown running 74 yards to the endzone.
Chavous intercepted an aweful pass AGAIN and Michael Bennett running 69 yards for another touchdown making the score 43-17.
In desperation to get a touchdown to cut down the lead, Pennington threw a pass straight towards Scott who intercepted with 10 seconds to go, and you know what happens after an interception if Michael Bennett is on the field, he ran 44 yards breaking and weaving through the defense.

3 interceptions in a row leading all to touchdowns, a dissapointing effort from the Jets.

That was it for the half with the score at 50-17.

In the second half, the Vikings came out firing with Johnstone getting a sack early in the Jets first drive to make it 3rd and 13, the Jets could not convert the 3rd down play and were forced to put it away. The very next play Johnson threw an amazing pass to the rookie WR Wiliiamson to make it 1st and goal but with very tough defense they were forced into a field goal and converted succesfully making the score 53-17.
After the Jets had gotten a very handy first down of their drive, Johnstone once again sacked the QB. The coaches would sure take this defensive effort into consideration when choosing the first team for the regular season. The Jets were forced into a punt to once again loose possession without scoring any points.
The Vikings took advantage of this and passed the ball down the field to make Williams run it in for ANOTHER touchdown, also his first of the pre-season. Edinger converterd succesfully and extended this massive lead.

The third ended 60-17.

Once again, the Jets could not do anything with their possession at the start of the fourth and punted it away, aswell as the Vikings on their drive. Despite doing nothing on their drive, the Vikings intercepted a pass once again and Brad Johnson threw the ball to Williamson for a 80 yard touchdown. The crowed boo'd the Jets after that touchdown.
This was a hopeless effort by the Jets punting it again in their own 30 yard line and the Vikings could not help themselves but to score another touchdown by Moe Williams who broke through a few tackles and ran to the endzone for a well deserved 37 yard touchdown.
The Jets finally got into the endzone and it was called out of bounds. The booth reviewed the catch and found that it was indeed a touchdown. The score now was 73-24.
The game finally ended with the Jets picking up 4 injuries throughout a humilating match for them, the score ended 73-24.

The highest score in any NFL game is 73 by the Chicago Bears against the Washington Redskins (0) in the 1940 NFL Championship game.
