question: is there something the judges are looking for? (style, text vs no text, use of colors, etc.)
I'd hate to go in a different direction and get penalized for that.

Let's stick to a certain size for the covers, how about 400x400px or 500x500px?

500x500 is good for me, looks roughly like a CD cover.

I was doing the same thing, finished mine days ago, but submitted it today after tweaking here and there. It's not my best PS work though

Mine's one of the worst I've done, for some reason it's just dawned on me that Cyanide's avatar minus the "Cy" would look quite cool as an album cover

This friday or next friday? I dunno if I will get it done or not now, I might get a summer job sometime this week.

I submitted mine... probably one of my worst Photoshop experiences due to this being my first time making an album cover. It's terrible.

If it's not too much of a hassle, you should PM the people who haven't made their submissions by copying and pasting, "You had the distinctive opportunity to compete in the Photoshop Graphics Tournament, and you're past the submission deadline. If I was your employer I'd fire your ass, but you're one lucky bastard. You have two days left, now get with it. Fucker."

Or something along those lines. Maybe those who submitted late should be penalized with a -1 vote. Make people accept the consequences for their irresponsibility.
