I don't have e-friends either, only e-folks that talk to me are Jae & Andrew. :(

Well, one reason I don't give out too much information about myself is because I'm generally a private person. Another reason is that the internet is the most public thing in the world. Any random person can get my e-mail and spam me with brokeback porn, add me to MSN and try to have cybersex with me, or find my address and stalk me down with a scythe because I called him a douchebag.

I'm very selective about where I may give out personal info. I wouldnt go on some desperate dating charoom thingy and give out all my info for some freaky pervert person to come hump my mailbox. Seeing that this forum is populated with mostly guys chatting about sports and other random things I dont really mind. What could you possible want from me so bad you would come searching for me to get it? Even when I say personal info I mean like my age or name. Nothing like my real addy or phone number. I barely even talk to anyone on MSN that much either, except for Sit & Jugs every now and then.

Does your mom and dad use the computer much? What I have noticed is that its mostly older folks with no computer experience who normally worry too much about those things. Like I had an aunt who would not allow me to even sign into any forum on the web cuz she said ppl might track me down and come to her house instead. Pretty crazy sounding if you ask me.

I call them. I barely talk to people I know in person over the internet/msn. My myspace has one person I got to school with and hang out with, and my brother who lives across the country. Other than that it's all folks from the internet.

I call them.

But then you can't talk to more than one person. So boring.

Wow, this thread exploded. Where's Andrew?

Some of you may remember I don't live in the city; I use the phone sometimes, but I mostly just talk to my friends at school. It's tough to get out and go somewhere.

My parents are both computer-literate, and they each have their own PC, so that's not the problem. Their major arguement was that they didn't want my bros to be exposed to anything that I could 'accidently' get. They also think I spend too much time on my PC as is, and MSN would just add to that. My PC is in a place where everyone has to walk by it to get anywhere in my house, so they can see anything I do, which really restricts me. ( :x )

I dunno, I guess that I'm just an open person, but only on the 'Net; I'm a pretty private guy in real life (comes from not getting out much). I'd say an address is too much, but then again, like Axel said, it's pretty easy to find it anyway. I always figured my name was okay, cause there's got to be at least 20 guys with the same name as me.

Yep addresses are very easy to find.... thats why you always keep a crowbar handy just incase :D

if some fasto fourty year old stalker wants me he'll have to run me down, lol i'd like to see that happen.

I've been out of the loop for a couple of days but I'm back now.

Security is an issue, giving out information that could place you in danger or jeopardise your savings account is obviously a bad idea. I don't like to reveal too much, I have no problem using my full name but I won't give out my address or anything like that. I suppose those of us who have been online for a long time are more wary because security has improved over the years and most of us were probably told to keep most things under wraps.

Perhaps the Internet feels more informal and relaxed for most people know and there's more people willing to share pictures, intimate details and whatnot. People are more open about meeting people they've only spoken to online and personal ads are of course a part of cyberspace with online dating. Perhaps younger people are more inclined to be open but I think people in general are more trusting these days.

And of course, the anonymouity of the Internet can allow people to reveal details about their life (not so much security risks like PIN numbers, passwords and credit card details) without fear of personal ridicule.

ya i dont really enjoy giving much info about myself either

So age makes a difference? Wow, I'd love to see you kick a 13-year old with five years of martial arts experience that happens to be 230 lbs and 6'9"!
