It's just annoying when a friggin High Schooler disses me for not having good arguments or insulting my intelligence when I am in a school that he'll never even be accepted to. Oh grades aren't everything, but it is. That's how they judge in real life. Anyhow, it wasn't that I was interpreting the Nintendo Bashing as a dis. It was his statement that I wasn't making half decent arguments or whatever. I don't have to be always perfect and write an essay every single time I have to make a point. I admit, fine the first response I wrote was sort of poor, but that was because of that statement about Asians. All that other Asian insulting that Jae had ever done just popped inside my mind and I got angry.

Get over yourself moron.

1: I'm 20 years old, I'm not in high school.

2: Your arguments are complete garbage, you don't think them out properly and you get your facts wrong constantly. Maybe you should go to that school I'll never be accepted to and tell them you're a fucking idiot who needs assistance making a basic point because you're apparentely not capable of it.

3: Asian insults? Don't blame me, it's not my fault you're a small dicked, Nintendo loving Asian who cries like a little bitch everytime something annoys him. There's a fortune cookie message for you you whiney little turd.

Look I checked ign.com and gamespot.com and it only said
http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/advent ... ent%20evil
http://cube.ign.com/objects/015/015821.html
Also available for PC and PS2. I don't remember it being released on XBox so that's why I assumed it was never going to be released there.

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/701/701374p1.html
Same as here...only mention of a PS2 release. I don't remember reading on IGN or Gamespot about an XBox release either, and 1 or 2 years have passed since the release of the original RE4, so I thought an XBox port was too late.

I already said RE4 was out for PS2, however it did not sell as well as it did with the GameCube, which shows that the GameCube can have more success with violent games if it were given a chance to. Maybe I should have used Metroid Prime as an example since it is an exclusive...but it isn't that violent.

I was just saying, why in the world did you have to make it personal. You could have just bashed the GameCube and I could have been ok. But you had to take it personally and even further every single time. You could've just pointed out the problems without making it a personal attack.

As for that long rant, it was supposed to be semi-comical and was not supposed to be taken seriously. I'm sorry I sounded stupid.

Although you might not think you decided to buy your Xbox on peer pressure or hype, but I wonder what really separates the GameCube from the XBox or the PS2. The GameCube is superior hardware wise to the PS2 in most areas. (The XBox has the best hardware.) However, the PS2 is leading most of the times. Which leads me to believe that games are the problem. Yet, the exclusive games for the GameCube do have high reviews. So this leads me to believe that maybe it's the kiddy-stereotyping of the GameCube
For some reason the GameCube is known as the kiddy console when they do have many of the games released on the PS2 and XBox. Nintendo no longer censors violent games as it did with the SNES. They even have the super bloody violent games such as RE4. Maybe it is the stupid lunchbox design. But mostly, I think, it is because of the stereotype that started in the Mortal Kombat era, when Nintendo decided to take out blood and weaken its fatalities for Mortal Kombat. They put back the blood and fatalities in Mortal Kombat 2, but the kiddy image stayed.

Yes, Nintendo has games that scream out kiddy such as Mario, the Wind Waker (with the cartoon image just screaming out kiddy...but then anime isn't always considered kiddy.) and Pokemon but they aren't necessarily designed for kids, but aimed rather at a universal audience, or so was the intent. Miyamoto has always preferred simply games that you can play easily. And if gameplay is all that matters, why is it that all of a sudden every game needs to be grown up, have blood, etc. There are good games without blood, sex, violence and all that. Up until the SNES, this wasn't even an issue. Maybe it is that the Gaming Community has grown up, but has failed to expand greatly. I think that if people tried Smash Bros. or Mario Sunshine or Mario Kart or all those so called kiddy games, they'd see that it would be fun, if they could throw away the pre-judgement that they are.

Most of the X-Box fans I know only play Halo. They are so obsessed with Halo that they only play that game and basically refuse to play any other game. (I played Halo everyday for around a month, but I got bored of it and was tired of those guys always playing Halo.) But if they were convinced into trying the other games, they might give Nintendo the merit that they deserve. Nintendo games do consistently gain high scores in reviews. Pokemon used to have great scores in the 90s area, Mario Sunshine had scores in the high 80s, and Mario Kart also in the high 80s. Metroid Prime, which I consider the third best game ever made after Chrono Trigger and KOTOR, has one of the highest scores ever according to gamerankings.com. They are by consensus good games. So why is it that those games are usually ignored? Why is it that people won't even try them? Which leads me to believe that it is mostly due to the fact that Nintendo has this kiddy image. Maybe it's Nintendo's marketing to blame. In order to try and market to a universal audience, it ended up ignoring the teens and adult audience.

Yeah, the PSP's are crap anyway. It's no wonder they're not selling. Who wants to listen to music through shitty speakers and play a detailed role playing game through such a small screen. As technology grew, things got more compact. I think this thing found it's limits. Smaller is not nessasarily better. Just ask Jugs' post count.

It never did release for the Xbox, if you checked Jae's link it's dated 2004. Capcom's not a big Xbox fan.
I already said RE4 was out for PS2, however it did not sell as well as it did with the GameCube

That's not true. They both sold 1.3 million copies by the end of 2005. The GameCube version released on January 11th, the PS2 version on October 25th. The PS2 version did the same amount of sales in two months that GC did in a year. This is to be expected as the PS2 is the greatest selling console of all time, while the GC has sold far fewer. (20.6 million units to Xbox's 22 million to PS2's 100 million, again as of the end of 2005) 1% of PS2 users bought the game in two months which was the same total amount of sales as 6% of GC users buying it over the entire year.

Can you cite the source? So far I have only found reports saying that the GameCube and PS2 versions total sales equalled 3 million...
BTW, the best selling console ever is actually the GameBoy with 120 million sold. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Boy

I am from the days when the Game Boy was considered a handheld along with the Turbo Express and Lynx. Consoles are what you plug into a TV.

I could say that 1.31 million (for GC) is bigger than 1.30 million (for PS2), but yea you do have to take into consideration the gap of the release dates. What is interesting though is the the US sales of Resident Evil 4 for GameCube was MUCH higher than the PS2 (.71 million vs .43 million), which is probably why I believed that RE4 was selling more in the GameCube. (I was sure I saw an article saying that somewhere, but I guess it was US sales.) This does not change my argument that the GameCube is in fact able to sell violent/adult games. I'm not saying that the GameCube surpasses the PS2 in its marketability to adults, but merely saying that if the GameCube used better marketing and if it were to somehow remove its "kiddy" image, it would have sold better.

Yes I considered the handheld and console argument, but a handheld is a console...depending on the what definition of console you use. The simplest definition of a console I believe is just a combination of a monitor and an input device.

You make some great arguements but there is no need to call it the shitbox or shitbox360. Just because you cant afford more than 1 system on parents income does not give you the right to show bias towards the other system. All of them are great and i would know because i have them all.

they do suck. i had one but sold it for an ipod. the games have pretty nice graphics but they seemed like they scaled the plot to save disc space. the only game worth playing is gta lcs. Moreover it can only fit so much music and movies on the 1gb. I guess if you travel a lot then its worth the cash. but everyday use of the psp sucks.

It's personal opinions really. I love my psp :P with a 3gb mem stick, I can do quite alot. Although I have to admit the PSP game library is pretty piss poor right now, alot of anticipated releases are coming up for the later periods of 2006, with fantastic titles that I'm sure would boost sales. Games like Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core, Gran Turismo Mobile, Monster Hunter:Freedom are all awesome, and I'm looking forward to them (Y)
