Also how do you know this stuff?
'cause I'm in AP Biology. We spent 2 weeks talking about the human immune system.
Riot, quit filling his mind with militant propoganda. If you're going to join the military just to get a scholarship, it's doubtful you'll be much use to the country, and it's more likely that you'll be a casualty.

Riot wrote:Don't worry about your grades! Get your credits, graduate and join the military! I'm serious, it's the way to go. They don't care about your grades and you can get free college there. It's a great deal.
Free College where? Is it really going to help if you have shit grades anyhow? It's not like if you go to the army it will make you go to the Ivy leagues or give you a six digit salary. Where are you going to get a job after that? In the military? Or will you get some shitty job at the gas station or something? Is that seriously what you want?
There's no way around it. Study like hell. Think "I don't want to fucking work at a fucking gas station" and imagine your "cool" friends or whoever says otherwise working there.
Tue Mar 14, 2006 1:17 pm
Axel, I'm not joining the military to get free college. I think that has been pretty well established on this forum for quite some time. I'm going to fight, plain and simple.
Bang, you can get a degree and having a degree is better than not having a degree. Plus, it looks pretty darn good on your resume that you were in the military. Am I saying slack off and have a poor work ethic? No, because you will get creamed on in the military. However, I think it's important for people to realize that going to college isn't always the only, and best, option. The military seems to be over-looked by many because everyone thinks that if you join you will fight and die. That isn't true.
And yes, joining the military and getting a college degree for free will help you a lot in your future. Plus, the once you get out of the military they help you find a civilian job.
Tue Mar 14, 2006 1:22 pm
Well joining the military is in my mind. But once I get a lil olde rlike 17 or 18 and I see my grades for high school and if I have shit then it sthe military for me.
But if I have good enough grades for college im off to college.
But I do wanna tough up and go do those things that they do at the miliatry,

Tue Mar 14, 2006 3:13 pm

Nick wrote:And 8th grade is elementry eh... so when does high school start?
8th grade was the last year of "middle school" (aka junior high) for me. Up north here, 1-5 is elementry, 6-8 is junior high and 9-12 is senior high.

But we're not? Our education system is basically based on your shitty one anyway... only we can locate other countries on the map on command.

Common knowledge? Uneducated? The school system in Canada (at least where I live) has elementary school from grade 1-6, junior high from grades 7-9, and high school from grades 10-12. Sure, we can locate the United States on a map, but don't assume we know how your education system is structured because frankly, if a shitload of you guys can't find Canada or Australia on a map, well... 'nuff said.

We have our fair share of idiots here too. Leno always does things like that. I read in a news article that more people can name a simpson's character than a constitutional right.

cyanide, which part of canada are you from? i know of some areas that have schools kindergarten-6 as elementary, then 7-8 or 7-9 as junior high, but mostly in my area, its kindergarten to 8th grade, then 9-12 for secondary.

Yeah ^^, I think that's how all of Ontario does it. Cy's in Edmonton, I think.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 1:32 am
^ Yuppers, I'm in Edmonton. I guess school systems are different across Canada. Perhaps it's also different throughout the States as well?
