Go on.

Then he divides them, following the formula, which gives 17 altogether: 9/6/2. He then proceeds and takes away the 18th cow.

Astutedly correct! Well done, that one took me more than half a day to figure out.
Now, another one.
General Mumblejack, accused of high treason, is sentenced to death by the court-martial. He is allowed to make a final statement, after which he will be shot if the statement is false or will be hung if the statement is true. Mumblejack makes his final statement and is released.
What was the General's statement?
Sun Feb 12, 2006 9:33 am
It could be hundreds of things, stuff like 'the world is round'. Are there any guidelines or rules we have to follow?
Sun Feb 12, 2006 10:02 am
'the world is round'.
If he had said that he'd be hung, as the statement is widely regarded as correct.
Sun Feb 12, 2006 10:31 am
The statement he makes is that he will be shot.
If he says he'll be shot, that's true. So then they'd have to hang him, if he is hung, that would make his statement false.
Sun Feb 12, 2006 10:34 am

I didn't read it carefully enough. So it's neither true nor false? That's tough. Is it something that everyone will agree is neither, or just some people? Like, it could be 'God exists' and it would depend on who you said it to whether it's true or false, so it could be neither.

Jack is on a roll. 2 and counting!
Let's see if he can make it 3 in a row.
I am the beginning of sorrow, and the end of sickness. You cannot express happiness without me, yet I am in the midst of crosses. I am always in risk, yet never in danger. You may find me in the sun, but I am never out of darkness.
Who/What am I?

The letter "s". Would have gotten the General one, but wasn't here.

I thought moon too, but the only part that would match up would be the darkness part. The midst & beginning of gave away that one. Nice one though.

1113213211
Because:
One - 1
There is 1 1.
That makes it 2 1's.
Then there is 1 two (2) and 1 one (one).
Then there is one one, one two & 2 one's.
Then there are 3 one's, 2 two's and 1 one.
Then there is one 3, one 1, one 2, two 2's and two 1's.
Finally, it'd be:
1113213211. Get?

I saw that one before. You go and brose websites for riddle right
Same

It's how many times each number was written going in order. So there were one 1's, (1,1), one 3 (1,3) two 1's (2,1) and so on...

Got. Scratch one for Sensation.
Next one:
Some time ago, two New York cab drivers were fighting for the hand of the daughter of a rich man. The man, who liked neither of these men to become the future husband of his daughter, came up with a clever plan: a race would determine who of the two men would be allowed to marry his daughter. And so the man organized a street race. Both taxi drivers had to travel from Jersy to Manhattan, and the one whose taxi would arrive last in Manhattan, would be allowed to marry the man's daughter.
The two cab drivers, realizing that this could become a rather lengthy expedition, finally decided to consult the Wise Man of New York. Arrived there, they explained him the situation, upon which the Wise Man raised his cane and spoke four wise words. Relieved, the two taxi drivers left his crib: they were ready for the contest!
The Question: Which 4 wise words did the Wise Man speak?

Where did it say that I had to explain how I came to my solution? I came up with the answer first and explained it only a couple seconds after Jackal did.

But, whatever.

Nope. I got sent a bunch of riddles by my cousin in Oakland via e-mail, and I'm just throwing you all my arsenal.
Where did it say that I had to explain how I came to my solution? I came up with the answer first and explained it only a couple seconds after Jackal did. Confused But, whatever.
Don't worry, I still credited you for nabbing that one.
Sun Feb 12, 2006 11:28 am
Drive the other's cab.
Sun Feb 12, 2006 11:29 am
I could've posted before you had I just put down the answer too, you can just google something like that. You have to be able to explain it to defend why you answered that. If you have no defense, your answer could be flawed.
Maybe it's a law education thing.
As for that cab driver one, it's bugging me. I don't get it. I'm missing something.
I was thinking that one cab driver could just be a passenger in the former cab driver's taxi, because that guy would probably take his godforsaken time to get to wherever he was going.
But since I talk a lot, how do you fit that shit into 4 words?
Did I even make sense? They could just hitch a ride with eachother. Given that's not 4 words, I give up.
By the way, I'm off to bed so my score has to be paused.
Sun Feb 12, 2006 11:50 am
Drive the other's cab.
Correct. 2 down for CC. This one was the infamous camer rider riddle, altered to fit the modern era. I guess 50 Cent was the Wise Man of New York.
Last one for today, since I'm off to bed as well.
