Help me out?

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I still use Azureus/Torrent for bigger files, but I hate how it doesn't have a built-in search engine.

In the menu where you turn the firewall on and off, you can also set programs to which the firewall won't apply, eg. I had my firewall on except in Limewire.

BitComet sort of has a built in search engine... it has an internal browser and links to virtually every major Torrent Site. It's pretty convenient.

I don't know, it just lists a bunch of torrent search engines you can use. It's not an independant search, it just gives you all of the search engines in one place.

Same with Turbo Torrent, except I don't know that one too well to touch it.

He might've meant a search engine for files instead of a web-based search engine? In that case, I remember seeing a client that does that, but forgot the name. Doesn't matter though, that program was full of bugs.

I figured he meant an in-built search file search, but anything like that would be garbage I think. Best just sticking to the web-based searches, I think isohunt.com is probably the best.

I had a thread like this some time ago, so I guess it isn't against the rules. I only use torrents for big files though, because they rely too much on other people rather than file sharers because if nobody has it, it don't come up.

Anyway, I had Ares but I got spyware and it died on me too. I have limewire and Shareaza, both pretty good.

Yea I didn't really like Ares, but Limewire is the best to use IMO. I don't know about the others except for Kazaa, but it ain't better than Limewire.

The best P2P software for songs and other small files is Limewire. Shareaza is also a good P2P software for larger files such as " school movies", Limewire and Shareaza both use the Gnutella 2 network. The good thing about Shareaza is that it can also use the Ed2k network as well as handling torrents.

XDCC is also a good place to download. There's not as much stuff available as torrents, but the files you do get are downloaded at full speed for the entirity of the download. The only downside is that it's hard to figure out.
