I have no superstitions.

Well [Jona mode] That's not luck, but a feeling that something will happen, so people make something happen while trying to not do something.[/Jona mode]

That still means that stuff happens on Friday the 13th though, forgetting where from. An arguement could be made that it's luck that those people cause things to happen to themselves.

There is a psychiatric condition called Triskadekaphobia, meaning fear of the number 13, and anything bad (or unlucky) that it implies.

People can act in psychotic states due to this. Of course a superstition is in another level compared to this, but essentially they are the same thing.
So, as Kevin put it, people bring the bad luck on themselves. :)

It's Friday the 13th, not opposite day

I had a fairly good day today. Not the best, but it wasn't dull or normal either. All of my classes had very little work and probably the only nerve wracking thing I had to do today was to present a project that was worth 30% of my mark... I think I did fairly well on my presentation and got it over with so my day wasn't too bad.

We had an essay-type test that our teacher wouldn't tell us what it was on. It turned out to be on the War in Iraq so I wrote two pages talking about the War. I don't even know if it was properly written, I had so much to say I just kind of wrote random things down. I skipped around a lot. It was fun, though.

I had a normal (boring) day. So the myth is officially disproved.

Actually, that's true.

The only superstition I believe in is the one where you supposedly can't open an umbrella indoors because of bad luck. I remember being told about 2 years ago in the dorms that you weren't supposed to open umbrellas indoors and disregarded it as superstitious trash , but bad things actually did happen that day and the other day and about a year later when I opened umbrellas indoors. Hmm.

On my vacation in Orlando I was surprised to find that the hotel we were staying at apparently lacked a 13th floor. :!:

Well, for me it was an alright day, then during my third period, my science teacher was about to say something like "Canada has a lot of natural resources" but then she accidently let her words slip and said "n*****." After that I knew that if even teachers were making these slips, this day wasnt gonna be that great.

Then last period of class, when my travel and tourism teacher said he was switching the isu to be due on monday instead of Wednesday. Then the whole class got pissed and asked why, and he said he got from like 3 other teachers saying they heard from their students that took travel and tourism saying they have a huge assignment and they cant handle it, when did you give them the assignment? Then he replies to all the teachers that asked that it was assigned on the second day of school (the cummulative assignment, if you dont know is like a final assignment that counts for atleast 10-15% of your final mark, ours was a 7 part thing, this part 7 thing was that we had to plan a 21 day vacation in the country you selected at the beginning of the year). Then he finally says its due on wednesday, but warned that he could at anytime change due dates so please dont complain to other teachers that you get a lot of work whenr realistically i give you enough time.

So finally i get home, then like an hour and a half later my mom comes home, and just spazes at me for no frikin reason. Like I haven't got that before. Then at around 7:30 i go to church (yes im a chinese christian) for fellowship (more like just fooling around lol, great times there) and today we were gonna do a letter to self. So i sit down and start writing and when im done, I realize what a bad (not all out shitty though) year 2005 was for me. It was crap until like second week of august till i had some happiness. So in my case, I guess that all that happened was that i was more down then usual. Not like having things falling on my head.
