man... seeing this thread reminded me of something this one colorado kid did.
he like pretended to be a juvi, and you know how u must have hs diploma and be like drug free, he lied to the the dude, and the dude was like no problem with drug addiction, we can set you up and get you in. and then he exposed this whole thing. crazy shit

i just got this letter like 2 days ago saying I must register for selective servies.. ahha fuck it. why should i want to be in the army or shit?

i just dont get some of these people.

have fun in the forces dude if thats wat you want to do, do it then. but is it for college or just wanna be in the army.

just dont get shot too early.

but Air Force is a good place, I had a couple friends who went there, and couple more who went to Army... if i were somehow forced to choose, take Army, then Air Force, then Marines, and finally Navy.

Its great that you want to be in the military and everythin, but do you really want to go to war? I mean, you can do so much more instead of the military... you can hang out with your friends, you can do whatever you want... I mean you arent even done highschool yet, so why join the military so early? I mean if you want to join maybe you should do it when you are like 25-30 years old, I mean I think 18 is way too early. Personally I wouldn't join the military or army because I really don't want to go to war (that's if I had to) and I really don't want to die early because if I would miss so much of my life and stuff. I would miss the parties, the good times and everything I would've had if I didn't die.

Riot's purpose in life right now is to join the military and your purpose is to enjoy life by not dying young. Contrasting paths but both meaningful. All of us can't comprehend what other people want with their life, but we must realize the significance of the different paths people choose to travel.
(I'm rambling again.)

Naw.. I'd have to disagree with you on that one.. I dont think anything is worth dying for. Death should be natural.. or in most cases unpredictable.. we shouldnt control when death haunts us.

Selfishness to the max.

I support the statement that some things are just worth dying for. If my death results in a better life for others, I'd be willing to die for them.

That's a tough choice, but I think I'd problably go with infantryman. I don't think anyone can really advice you on that though. It's your life in your hands, I wouldn't want to leave it in someone else's judgement.

I can see how you may think nothing is worth dying for, but joining the army isn't exactly controlling when you die. You're on the ground somewhere fighting and you get shot in the back, that's pretty unpredictable. Basing it off what Riot said, less than 5% of soldiers at war die, so in perspective that's not many.

About 2,000 troops have died in Iraq. Currently right now, there are about 145,000 American soldiers in Iraq. Plus you have to add the soldiers that have already been there and are back from Iraq. So really it is about 5% or so.

You wouldn't be on the ground somewhere fighting since Riot wants to be in a hellicopter avoiding all the real action

 Trust me, I'm only considering the Air Force because of their community college program.

I just want to be able to look back when I'm 65-70 and tell my grand kids that I did something meaningful. I'd hate to be the person who worked in an office his whole life and never stood up for what he believed in. That's why being in the military and being a police officer is so important to me. And that's why I try to avoid all the bad things that might prohibit me from achieving these goals.

I've been really tempted over the years to get into the police force. I got an invitation when I was living in England from a Lord saying he would get me a spot in the gendarme's (French police) but I ended up staying in the UK. It's a pretty decent occupation to get into.
