Dude Live 2000 gameplay blows away anything more recent. In fact, if I ever met the person who decided to change Live 2000 in future verisons I would kick the shit out of him.

Live 2000 was for sure the best one. I kept playing that game for 2-3 years and still having fun with it.

Zo
Brown
Mash
Majerle
Timmy Bug

i just loved to play with that lineup...

Fuck that lineup was killer man, Zo stuffed anythin that came in the paint, same with PJ.. Majerle hit those three's like it was his job.. and Timmy killed the guards.. lol.. I remember those days

Yes. NBA Live 2000.

I have that for the N64. Ah, the memories of Shaq going for a windmill...

To be honest, I'm not sure it's a job I want at this point in my life. But who knows how I'd feel if I got a call. It wouldn't be something I'd knock back too quickly, but despite my enjoyment of video games and the work I do with patches, I'm not necessarily keen to work in the industry. But who knows.

Anyway, posted on the main page. Thanks again EG. (Y)

Something's smells funny.

He began at EA as an Assistant Producer but he learned the ropes quickly. Soon he'd be an Associate Producer and then Line Producer for LIVE 2005, using his overall vision for the game as its focus.

I expected more out of somebody who's climbing the ladder so quickly

if I ever met the person who decided to change Live 2000 in future verisons

A hypothetical scenario:

Former NBA Live Team: If you take that new guy you found on the internet, we're all going to quit! You're going to hire him just like that, without even asking for our opinions!

TheBoss: I like him. He's hired whether you like it or not, bitches.

Former NBA Live Team: That's it, good riddance asshole.

Tim: *entering the room* Hi fellas

Former NBA Live Team: *going out of the room angrily* Good luck.

...and so the result was NBA Live 2001. Followed by the other Live's...

 at Shadowgrin...

But yeah, I have to admit I played NBA Live 2000 until just before NBA Live 2004!!!! That game truly was what hooked me to the series. And, it's not that the other games have been disappointments. It's just that they haven't been up to par with NBA Live 2000. I honestly believe that if they did a game every other year and just released roster updates. That the game would be much better and much more anticipated...But, I don't know if I'd be able to wait a whole 'nother year! :)

Yeah that sounds good... but you know how EA is with roster patches... And sice they would only sell it every two years, copies would cost $80 instead of $40.

But they would have a lot more time to add more and better featues...plus they would have the time to perfect them, instead of just throwing something in the game and calling it a big update.

Agreed here guys.

Live 2000 was ahead of its time, the same way I think of games such as Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning 11, Goldeneye(N64), Metal Gear Solid etc etc. I've had fun with the Lives since then, but they have never done anything special, or done something that set them apart from the rest, or done something that everyone else has copied.

Lets hope they use these next-gen consoles to their full potential, and put Live back on the map. (Y)

Tim was hired because the old team couldn't do the console stuff... And now they have two lines, this console & PC and the next gen console line... I wonder how long that will last and I certainly hope that the PC production moves to go with the next gen version from 07 on...

The PC has the juice to run the game that the next gen consoles can run... We have the kick.

Remember that Tim hasn't shown us what he can do for 06... He didn't have anything to do with the live 06 that is out there... Live 05 was good and a game to match 2000's level... I still don't have live 06 for the CPU because someone had a funny idea and sent french versions of Live 06 to Finland... And that was over two weeks ago... I need my Live fix! And I need it now!

Live is on a good foundation... I just hope they build the right things on it...

This is a mixed bag, this 06 version... This is basically the same situation as it was with Live 2002... Though we didn't get a PC version of the game that year... Live 2003 wasn't any good either... 2004 was getting better and 2005 was already on par with 2000. If only EA had taken on more people to do the consoles and kept the original guys to make the PC version... Man, what kind of a game we would have today???

Indeed I have the feeling that Live 2000 and Live 2005 have nothing in common apart the fact it's a NBA game :?

So true.

They were the real heros, as well as Stan, and the other original NBA Live websites. Tim wasn't the main, let alone only, pioneer.
