Yeah the lack of authenticity bothers me somewhat, it detracts from the atmosphere of games. Like if I play against Manchester United it doesn't feel like I'm playing Manchester United, it's Old Trafford Red or whatever they called it... even though I've changed the name it's just not the same.
The team I've got a long standing rivalry with in my Masters League career is who I suspect is Paris St. Germain... they're called Ill De France

You can still patch the PS2 version using the swap-magic disks for PS2 (which are legal), making a copy of your "originally store-bought game" onto your PC, patching the image file with WE&PES Graphics Studio, and then burning the image back to a DVD and running it on the PS2....I do it all the time, and I have updated faces, uniforms, rosters, etc...

EA's plans are to release another soccer game that resembles pinball and the players have no AI. They run around the pitch in their exact formation. Pro Evo is the way to go.

Agree with that. FIFA sucks. FIFA sold well all around the world because there was no competitors at all. Here we had PCFútbol series but the company broke down 4 years ago. It's really embarrasing englanders can't do a good football game. They created it!! . PES 4 rules!. Japan 5-0 England

Over here in Englnd its a real popular game and highly addictive, a lot better than any of the game in thechampionship manager series which I used to favour
Now I can answer that, I got FM and some ram
It's not as immediately addictive as CM 01/02 was for me, but it's still the kinda game you just feel like playing all the time. I love the transfer system, it's not entirely realistic (I got Lampard, Geremi, Parker, Kezman + 50 million pounds from Chelsea for Adriano) but it's good all the same. The next one is in production, can't wait for it

PES 4 is great and FM 2005 too.

Just played the demo...and I'm not quite sure yet, but it seems it still is a bit arcadey and the graphics are better, but the players sort of look weird zoomed out.
Bleah, it all summarizes down to: PES/Winning Eleven is better.

It will be out in like two weeks: September 15th... But it was finished by Konami in late August 'cos I played it in a video games store.

The links you posted .. were they the Fifa 06 ones or the PES/WE8 ones?
Also does anyone know the International team list thats gonna be in Fifa 06? Cant seem to find it anywhere..

PES/WE8 cant u tell by the gameplay? and the way it looks so much better?
Fri Sep 02, 2005 10:00 am
Honestly it looks quite similar to Fifa man.. imo. I'd still take Fifa 06.. the authenticity plays a major factor in the game for me.
Fri Sep 02, 2005 10:07 am
I tried out the FIFA 06 demo, and there's a major bug where teams automatically switch without even touching the controller. Apparently, it seems like a huge percentage has the same problem with little resolution.

PES5 is better than Fifa but Konami doesn't have so many licenses so the uniforms (except for a few ones) will be without any type of sponsors, that's what I don't like from PES series, other than that, it's way better than Fifa.
Anyways, you can download the uniforms for PES but you can't download a new realistic gameplay for Fifa...
