but why does he need it??

Why do people need bikes? Transportation or fun. In Yao's case I'm guessing it's for fun. Simple.

oh my... the bike is almost as tall as the 5'8 owner.
Yao Ming looks ordinary in the pic, and that makes the owner look like he's been added onto the pic or edited. The ratio just doesn't look right. :lol:

yeah there is no sea world there. or there is? i don't know. i was in melbourne and the goldcoast. and i have been into an aussie sea world. i find it very entertaining and i do like aussie accent. reminds me of england :lol:

The accents are pretty different. Steve Irwin sounds nothing like Jamie Oliver. I really don't know how they sound similar; I can understand mistaking the New Zealand accent for Australian, though there's still a fairly distinct difference between the two as well.

Add to the fact that in Britain they have a multitude of regional accents, not to mention the usual Scottish, Irish, Welsh and English ones. For instance, someone from Birmingham can sound entirely different to someone in Leicester despite the fact that they're only like an hour and a half away.

No kidding. And the main reason I probably couldn't distuinghish the two (NZ and Aus) is that I don't know what the differences are supposed to be. What are they?

It's mostly in the vowel sounds. The Australian accent makes vowels quite harsh, "A" in particular. We often put an "r" sound after it, when used it words like "bath", "grass", "pass" etc. We also tend to pronounce words very abruptly or with an "a" or "ah" sound on it (eg neighbour, nay-bah).

The New Zealand accent has very similar vowel sounds, usually a and e, u and i, o and u and sometimes even e and i. Needless to say, it's much more noticeable when the person has a really thick accent.

Steve Irwin doesn't just have the accent though. His delivery of dialogue and mannerisms aren't typical of all Australians. We don't all dangle infants in front of dangerous reptiles either. Like most accents, the stereotypical impression is much funnier than the real thing.
