but wouldn't it be better if you started making laws on dangerous weapon #1 (guns) and work your way down?

personally, i think allowing fully automatic guns legal on the streets (which bush has done) is downright stupid.

You live in Canada... you're not supposed to understand American policies.

I mean I say this partly as a joke, but it's also true... There are many things we don't agree on, and this is why we're two different countries. This is why our attitudes are different concerning stuff like health care, guns, war, etc.

i disagree because i think most people who own guns dont do any harm with them. heres my main thought on this.

power must be put in the hands of the people of a country because if a countries government becomes to dictator-like, or un-democratic, it is up to the people to change it. and how can the people do this if they have no weapons and the government and police do? it puts so much power in the hands of the government and makes forceful change by people impossible.

sounds like a revolution. :!: i always thought you could change the policies of the government by voting for another president. they way i see it....
you are right that most people who do own guns don't do any harm with them, but, maybe it's because of my idealist views or whatnot, if you have stricter gun control laws, things like this wouldn't happen. it's impossible to get rid of the black market, but if you have less guns, there's less guns in the black market.

I find those lyrics(changed one word) the perfect description of what happend here

But this aint no big story....theirs 10 year oldz that pop ill gangsta's everyday n visa versa but da cops help cover it up specially if they got a respectable background...

gun control laws won't do shit.. if people had the motivation to kill someone they would pull anything out of their asses to make it happen. it's just like when people say capital punishment is a form of punishment to deter criminals away from crime.. you think it'll make crime go down but homicide rates are still up across the board in the united states

Yea, but that only goes for the premeditated killings, which isn't really that many off all the killing that occur.
What I meen is this, how many people would actually go through all that hastle to get a person killed because you don't have a gun? Only people with an actuall reason and motivation of doing will do that. What about all the other killings then? They would go away...
